Rated 5 out of 5 by Auntbooglie Excellent shoe!
I wore these straight out of the box on a ten mile hike through rugged terrain. Normally, this would be a bad idea, but I was in a bind. I didn't need to worry. These shoes are fantastic! No chafing, no blisters, no cramped toes, no slippage on tree roots or mud...and they really are waterproof. I accidentally stepped into ankle deep muck and my socks remained perfectly dry. My feet did not ache at the end of the trail. I got these on sale, but would gladly pay full price if I ever needed to replace them. They're worth every cent. I ordered a half size up so they'd fit comfortably with my thick socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Curlieq20 These are a great pair of hiking boots!
I originally had Merrill hiking boots, and decided to return them because after hiking or traveling down a slope my small toes would feel cramped and would often get hot (close to blistering), due to the narrowness of the boot. I had tried a size up of the Merrills, but they still were not cutting it. Bought these, and I'm so glad that I did! I normally wear a size 7 or 7 1/2, but ended up buying a 7 1/2 in these, and I have no regrets! I love how they are wider in the front, so my little toes are free. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LPnTX Keens are the greatest!
I have several pairs of Keen shoes and I just love them because they are so versatile and handy when traveling or just running errands. I love them! As most know, when buying Keens, you need to size up about 1/2 a size so they fit right. I've worn these shoes just once on a one hour walk up a rocky road about a 25% grade and they have great support and are very stable for hiking. No blisters or problems and they are comfortable right out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RWilliamson My feet love these shoes!
I needed a shoe for hiking in Baxter State Park. I have long toes, and normally order a 7-7.5 shoe. The Keens I got were a 7.5 and fit perfectly. The toe area is nice and wide. I took these up Double Top Mountain, and my feet didn't hurt and they stayed dry. I will definitely be buying Keens again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by pesti13 Down from "Excellent" to "Good"
I have worn Keens for many years now, and this is my 3rd pair of these specific shoes (Targhee II). I use them for everyday walking, light hiking and as my go-to travel shoes, I also ran the Tough Mudder in them as I didn't want to wear flimsy running sneakers!! By all accounts, my Keens have always been great - they fit right out of the box and require no "breaking in". The only reason that these have gone down slightly in rating from me is that the soles seem stiffer, the toe box less comfortable than my previous two pairs. Also, the size of the ankle opening seems to be slightly more elongated than previously as I find my heel lifting off the insole as they never did before. I ignored it at first, but I know Keens always fit right, first time, every time I've owned them so I'm actually very tempted to return them even though I've worn them a fair bit now. Anyway, overall I still really love these shoes but in case anyone else has had a similar experience, I thought I'd share mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hagwind2 Good boots!
These fit well right out of the box. After a brisk five-mile walk, my feet were very happy. Since then I've splashed through a few puddles in my new boots: they're waterproof, all right. I especially like the lacing pattern, which makes it possible to snug up around the ankles. (I like good ankle support. It's a big reason I wear boots much more often than shoes.) This is helpful now, and I think it will become more so as the boots age and relax some. Short version: I'm very happy with my new boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bear506 Very good traction
I went out with on a search where the terrain was very steep. We were climbing over trees that had fallen and stepping on rocks covered with moss. It was very slippery and I never once lost my footing. These shoes also kept my ankles protected from twisting. My feet never hurt after hiking all day. They are very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Faded Perfect!
These are excellent for hiking and/or just walking. Very comfortable, waterproof, nice looking, and functional. Wore them hiking in Alaska over very uneven, often wet terrain and didn't slip or falter once. Also bought a pair for my husband and they worked well for him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 13Vicki Perfect for Hiking Comfort
I purchased these to wear hiking in the Rocky Mountains. They were perfect from the first day. These boots kept my feet warm and dry through rain, sleet and puddles. They were lightweight and did not need any breaking in time. I wore them on shorter hikes as well as a 10 hour hike through very rocky, slippery conditions. I felt stable and kept thinking how much I loved these boots! I did order these a 1/2 size up from my normal size and that was a great fit.
