Rated 1 out of 5áby doxiepuppy Humongous size,
They suggest 1 size smaller, but I suggest 3 sizes smaller. I believe this was originally a man's coat design because of the wide and long sleeves. They just put an inside button for secure closere inside on women's side. LL Bean should state the measurements in the description which LL Bean used to do in the good old days. I would never have purchased this had I known how off size this was and to what extent. The quality is very good though and up to Ll Bean's standards. Unfortunately I have to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5áby AliceS A steal!
High quality zip-in quilted liner also buttons on the inside sleeves to keep in place. This jacket will be perfect for rainy school "bus duty" days year round!
Heed other reviewers' advice about size (runs big) and fit (short jacket with high waist). Though it may look tent-like as you're putting it on, cinch that waist and you're stylin'!
Absolute steal for a high quality, sassy jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5áby Jerseybeanie well made, nice color
This jacket is a good value and the gray is a nice color. It does run big but the Petite Small fits well (I usually wear a Petite Medium and the small was just right). I did not find it too puffy with the lining (just don't cinch the belt too tight#. The sleeves aren't overly long. Other good points of this coat are the lining, color, and the tailoring. The not-so-good points are the belt, which seems very wide for a petite and short #can't really be tied-- you must use the buckle), the crinkly noise of the fabric, and the details of the tailoring. I also ordered the Mackintosh coat in navy which I think is more flattering because of it's simple styling. I have never been fond of double-breasted coats and I think they is better suited for a taller figure. The details-- so many buttons and the wide belt, make it a little too much for a small figure but I would have kept this as a travel jacket if I didn't buy the Mackintosh.

Rated 4 out of 5áby KMBGJW chic-classic trench
I like this coat much better than I actually thought I would and plan to wear it often. Its a great combination of chic/sporty and classic. I slips on great over a sweater or office blazer and doesn't bind in arms, but also looks slim. Even if you're fairly short. Great material doesn't wrinkle, reasonably light and waterproof. I ordered a size down - usually Bean's size small but x-small is perfect (5'4, 125). I like it best without the liner, but liner could come in handy. Purchased in the tan - a slightly more nice warm camel color than the web shows.

Rated 5 out of 5áby DonnainIthaca Just what I wanted!!
Contrary to the reviews of others this is a beautiful 3 season trench coat. I tried it on in our store near Syracuse, NY, and I always wear a M, however this has raglan sleeves, which I love for ease of movement and I did not purchase it as the M was too big. I came home read the reviews and saw that I could get it in my choice of 3 colors and ordered the red in a S. It's perfect and I absolutely love the lining!! Really keeps you warm as we wait for spring in the northeast.

Rated 5 out of 5áby DMPR Exactly what I've been looking for
I do not know what all the bad reviews are about regarding this coat. I live near Seattle and take a commuter train into the city for work. I need something warm, wind and water resistant (It rains a lot here). I also have the commuter trench coat but this is better because it has the Primaloft lining and is warm. I got the gunmetal gray which goes really well with Seattle. I took LL Bean's recommendation to order down a size (usually a M and ordered S). It is PERFECT...looks good...fits good. . .feels good and I can't wait to wear it standing out on the train platform tomorrow.

Rated 5 out of 5áby packoffour Wish I had bought the other colors
I bought 2 of these when it was on the one day special. I love it. I read the reviews and I ordered one size smaller. I am 5' 4" and 140 pounds and ordered the small. The fit is perfect, and the jacket is light and packable. Of course, love the thinsulate lining, which is all the way into the 2 sleeves.I do not have a problem with the position of the belt, and love it even more with the front belt loops. I also ordered one for my mom, both in the khaki color. Now I wish I had ordered other colors as well.

Rated 1 out of 5áby EwilyW Drapes like a box
I ignored the other reviews and tried this item for myself after purchasing it on sale. I have since returned it. Despite looking like a fitted coat, the coat drapes the body like a box looking oversized and frumpy. I thought perhaps it was A-line and stylish, but it's pretty much a square. I wear a 36D bra and still found this large in the chest through armpit area - too much material bulking me up. The idea of the coat is great, and it would be ideal for traveling, but not as is. Additionally, the belt was very cheap looking.

Rated 5 out of 5áby aimer Love this coat
I love this coat! I read carefully all the reviews, esp. the negative reviews on the coat, and ordered anyway. I'm so glad I did. This coat is perfect for winter weather in Atlanta. We get freezing, cold rain a lot and this coat works so well in being water resistant and warm. It is stylish and fits over my work blazers and jackets easily as well.
I did take the advice of others and the listing and ordered a size smaller than I normally would. This was good advice. The fit is just right.
I've been using it this week during our cold snaps in the 20s and 30s and it has worked out very well.
It is a bit noisy, but I expected that from the reviews and frankly would expect that from any water-resistant-type coat. My only minor complaint is that because it is a bit slippery, my light weight purse does not stay on my shoulder. I have to carry it by hand, which is okay. Any heavier shoulder bags have stayed on okay.
Thanks again LL Bean for a great quality coat!

Rated 2 out of 5áby leesymomeesy good potential but bad sizing
I'm 5'8", 175 pounds, usually a S or M, but after seeing other reviews I ordered the XS. It was still too big! It was ok around the waist and hips, but too much room in the chest and waayyy too much room in the arms. I took the liner out thinking that would help with the bulkiness of it, but then I just felt like I was swimming in the extra fabric. I prefer a jacket that's more fitted/curvy--this one isn't flattering at all. It does look like it would hold up well in weather, and seems pretty warm, but good luck trying to find a size that fits. :/
