Rated 4 out of 5áby OlenaPhx Good quality for the price
The coat does run really big: I got medium , but it feels more like a large. The color is pure classic red (not the raspberry it seemed on my iPad) - but I still like it a lot. The coat is shaped more like a pea coat when unfastened - so it is a bit boxy. The lining is awesome: it seems high quality, zips out and attaches back easily and it is just the right warmth for our Arizona winters. I got it on sale so it is a good deal for the price but do not expect an elegant trench coat. I also think it will travel and pack great. Looking forward to wearing it.

I love this trench coat!, I ordered in Medium petite and it fits fine. I agree that it is a bit short-waisted, but doesn't seem to be as drastic for me as for some other reviewers. This coat is so well made it won me over. I doubt that I will ever wear the lining due to mild winters here on the Oregon coast. Bulky??? I don't think so. I think it looks very attractive. I Am very happy with the quality and now I am hoping for rain. That's got to be a first!

Rated 5 out of 5áby Suncat7 Quality and Style
Having broad shoulders and long arms in proportion to my height, I often find it difficult to find coats that fit and flatter. This one has succeeded beyond expectations. The raglan sleeves fit beautifully and offer ease of movement. The jacket style looks great either unbottoned in a casual drape or buttoned and belted in a classic trench coat look. The lining is thick and warm to transition from Autumn to the colder months. And all this with the expected L. L Bean quality of construction and attention to detail. I followed the advice in the description and ordered it a size smaller than usual (a medium instead of a large) and I am 100% delighted with it.

Already on its way back. Basically what the majority of the other reviewers said is true. Way too high waisted. Very boxy appearance. The belt is too short to be tied. With the liner it's too tight through the arms and then without the liner the sleeves are too long.

Rated 1 out of 5áby doxiepuppy Humongous size,
They suggest 1 size smaller, but I suggest 3 sizes smaller. I believe this was originally a man's coat design because of the wide and long sleeves. They just put an inside button for secure closere inside on women's side. LL Bean should state the measurements in the description which LL Bean used to do in the good old days. I would never have purchased this had I known how off size this was and to what extent. The quality is very good though and up to Ll Bean's standards. Unfortunately I have to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5áby AliceS A steal!
High quality zip-in quilted liner also buttons on the inside sleeves to keep in place. This jacket will be perfect for rainy school "bus duty" days year round!
Heed other reviewers' advice about size (runs big) and fit (short jacket with high waist). Though it may look tent-like as you're putting it on, cinch that waist and you're stylin'!
Absolute steal for a high quality, sassy jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5áby Jerseybeanie well made, nice color
This jacket is a good value and the gray is a nice color. It does run big but the Petite Small fits well (I usually wear a Petite Medium and the small was just right). I did not find it too puffy with the lining (just don't cinch the belt too tight#. The sleeves aren't overly long. Other good points of this coat are the lining, color, and the tailoring. The not-so-good points are the belt, which seems very wide for a petite and short #can't really be tied-- you must use the buckle), the crinkly noise of the fabric, and the details of the tailoring. I also ordered the Mackintosh coat in navy which I think is more flattering because of it's simple styling. I have never been fond of double-breasted coats and I think they is better suited for a taller figure. The details-- so many buttons and the wide belt, make it a little too much for a small figure but I would have kept this as a travel jacket if I didn't buy the Mackintosh.

Rated 4 out of 5áby KMBGJW chic-classic trench
I like this coat much better than I actually thought I would and plan to wear it often. Its a great combination of chic/sporty and classic. I slips on great over a sweater or office blazer and doesn't bind in arms, but also looks slim. Even if you're fairly short. Great material doesn't wrinkle, reasonably light and waterproof. I ordered a size down - usually Bean's size small but x-small is perfect (5'4, 125). I like it best without the liner, but liner could come in handy. Purchased in the tan - a slightly more nice warm camel color than the web shows.

Rated 5 out of 5áby DonnainIthaca Just what I wanted!!
Contrary to the reviews of others this is a beautiful 3 season trench coat. I tried it on in our store near Syracuse, NY, and I always wear a M, however this has raglan sleeves, which I love for ease of movement and I did not purchase it as the M was too big. I came home read the reviews and saw that I could get it in my choice of 3 colors and ordered the red in a S. It's perfect and I absolutely love the lining!! Really keeps you warm as we wait for spring in the northeast.

Rated 5 out of 5áby DMPR Exactly what I've been looking for
I do not know what all the bad reviews are about regarding this coat. I live near Seattle and take a commuter train into the city for work. I need something warm, wind and water resistant (It rains a lot here). I also have the commuter trench coat but this is better because it has the Primaloft lining and is warm. I got the gunmetal gray which goes really well with Seattle. I took LL Bean's recommendation to order down a size (usually a M and ordered S). It is PERFECT...looks good...fits good. . .feels good and I can't wait to wear it standing out on the train platform tomorrow.
