This was a wonderful skirt. I would wonder about the sizing chart. According to it, I needed to order a 12 petite. It swam on me. So then I ordered a 10, too big. Then an 8 petite. It was too big also. So we're now going to a 6 petite. Wow. I'm not that small, usually use a 10 P. LL Bean has been wonderful about customer service and arranging it so they pay for my return shipping, but I've been amazed at the sizing. And I don't think I'm shrinking each week.

I just received it, ironed out the creases, and tried it on. Very nice quality and great length!! I'm 5'10.5" and the skirts hits me at
mid-calf. I'll revisit and update if there are issues after washing.

I was so enamored of these washable, nice-fitting skirts that I ordered three of them. But now that I've been wearing them for a year or more, I've approached the point that I may have to give all of them away. They have been carefully washed in cold water and never put in a dryer. Yet all have shrunk in length and the lining now sticks out from below the skirt hem. The skirts are embarrassing to wear. It looks like my slip is showing. I am not handy with hemming, so my decision is whether to take them to a local tailor and have the lining taken up, at some cost - or just give up on them. Very disappointing.

I am 5"1 and like my skirts long, so I ordered my usual size in a regular instead of petite. The skirt is a little big, but it sits very comfortably on the hips. The skirt falls to my ankle, which is perfect. The first time I washed it, I hung it to dry, and it came out a little bit wrinkled. But the second time I washed it, I put it in the dryer on low. It came out perfectly, and shrank just a bit (but still loose). So, now I'm going to order another skirt in a smaller size & see how that fits. The charcoal gray heather is a beautiful color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RockyMountSeagull One of best choices I ever made!
I now have 2 of these skirts, and another on the way. I really love them!
I am a little older so the larger waist size suits me fine. I wear them with turtlenecks, blouses, cardigans, and/or vests, boots, shoes, whatever, and they are great because they can be worn with so many different pairings so as to be casual, professional, sporty, or dressy.
As to shrinkage: I wash them (washing machine) in COOL water, and I am careful not to over-dry them and use a lower heat. NOT A BIT OF SHRINKAGE!
I expect them to last a long time, and I am so happy I got them.
Oh yes: when you order, check out the colors, because the pictures look as though they are solid colors, but they may be herringbone, or hounds-tooth. Ask the person you talk to when you order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Livinglifeoutdoors Comfortable Skirt
I bought this skirt in the brown pattern and in a solid gray. Love them. I wear a size 10 and bought a size 10 perfect fit, they are a little fuller around the hips which I like. They look great when paired with a pair of boots and turtleneck. They wash and dry wonderfully. I'm 5'2" and the regular size falls a little longer than mid-calf so if you want your skirts shorter you may want the petite size but I think this length myself for winter.

Bought this skirt in three of its colors last Fall & wrote a positive review. Love the length and the fact that it fits waist, not a dropped waist which is very uncomfortable for me (and in my opinion not flattering on any figure.) LL Bean, PUH-LEEZE make some in a spring-fall fabric!

Rated 5 out of 5 by robin1250 Very Nice!
I ordered two skirts (gray and plum) in my usual size 14 and they fit perfectly. The fabric is beautiful - it really does look like soft wool. I washed the skirts in cool water on a regular cycle, dried them on a rack and ironed them and they turned out great. I agree with other reviewers who said the pockets aren't very deep. Also, I'm 5' 9" and wish the skirts were a smidge longer; they're long enough to wear with tall boots but I like my skirts a little longer. I recommend the Weekend Riding Skirt and will definitely consider ordering a couple more in different fabrics when they're available.

Rated 3 out of 5 by P024008 Shell shrinks but nice skirt
I have 3 of these skirts. They are very flattering and the fabric is very comfortable and warm. The waist is huge but it just sits lower on my hips than I would normally wear but it still looks fine.
Although I have never put these skirts in the dryer, all 3 shrunk in the wash leaving the lining longer than the shell. Luckily my mom hemmed the liner and they still look good, but be warned. I noticed some other reviewers had the same problem so it's not an isolated incident. Although I love the skirts I give them 3 stars as not everyone has a seamstress in the family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gardening4you Tailored, very well made, classy, and a classic.
I have this skirt in 3 colors. I would like one or two more, simply because this type of skirt is so very hard to find, and it is so well made, tailored, and with a nice lining. It is also very warm and comfortable, and I love the pockets. It is easy to dress up or down.Caution - it does run big. I got one size down and it is perfect for me. I am 5'4, 135 lbs, a normal size 14. A regular comes just 2" above my ankle which is what I like. The raisin is a really nice color. I highly recommend this skirt.
