I love this bag! It is attractive, roomy and soft, and the adjustable shoulder strap is comfy and versatile. It does tend to pick up fuzz, but taking a roller to it periodically keeps it looking good. It's the perfect size for both weekends and work days, and is well-padded for my iPad. I've tried a lot of bags, and this is my favorite.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ereader It is a cat hair and lint magnet
I like the size and the crossbody capabilities. It would be nice to have another couple pockets inside. But what really annoys me about the bag it that it now looks, after two days use, as though it is actually cat fur. We have three cats, but even so, I've never seen fabric attract so much fur. And today I came back from shopping and there was a long blonde hair on it, which no one I know has, so it is attracting human hair, too. The fabric also pills, which is evident after two days of use. I don't have plans to send it back, yet, but I would not recommend this bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Limestone Skip the monogramming
I ordered this bag & it is as stated: The slate blue-grey is very pretty, it has a nice zippered enclosure at the top, and there is a handy key fob inside. My complaint is with the monogramming. I read about the monogramming, contacted the Chat (very helpful), who referred me to the Customer Service line (again, very helpful). We determined that the standard thread color was grey & I asked that the initials be done instead in black so they would stand out & coordinate with the straps. No problem. When the bag arrived, I noticed that the initials are not centered on the bag, as they are on most items that are monogrammed. Instead, they are awkwardly positioned off to the side. I can see that there is double stitching in the center, which may have made monogramming there impossible. If that were the case, though, that should have been explained either in the item description or in a follow up call to me, for I would have passed on it. Not only did the monogramming add to the cost of the bag, but it is also unflattering. Buy the bag. Skip the monogramming.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BikeTourist Nice Bag!
I got this to use as my everyday purse. I like it because the large open compartment makes it easy to find what I'm looking for, and then just throw it back in when I'm done. The zippered outside pocket is handy for keeping coupons and papers secure and easily accessible. Only two reasons it didn't rate 5 stars: the material tends to attract and hold on to lint ( my bag is black so this is very noticeable) and the handle is quite long. This makes it great for wearing across the body, but I would like the option of shortening it to handle-length.

Rated 4 out of 5 by misswhit roomy & sturdy bag
bought this bag for the walk to work so it needed adequate strap for body cross-over and roomy interior to hold all my junk....it fit the bill!
however, like a black sweater, the fabric attracts fuzz & stray hairs but a roll-over with the lint roller took care of removing most of the stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BakedBean1 looks like it will do the trick
I purchased this bag on impulse and I plan to use it on an upcoming trip. It is roomy enough to hold all my daily stuff, but very lightweight and it is nice looking with attractive fabric. I really like the color. It is called slate blue, but is really a nice neutral medium gray. I have given it 4 stars because I have not used it yet, but I am hoping it will turn out to be a 5 star item.

Rated 2 out of 5 I wanted to like it and keep it bad!
Being a big fan of LL Bean products, I decided to purchase a shoulder bag that I really needed from LL Bean, hoping that it will be a lifetime investment.
Being a frequent traveller, I needed a bag that could that I could take to work daily and fit: an iPad2, Headphones w/ case, cellphone, sunglasses w/case, wallet, bottle of water, umbrella, and room for a small snack. This bag seemed just about the perfect size (a little on the bigger side), and I was excited that I finally found a light and comfortable shoulder to meet my needs.
What works for this bag:
What doesn't work for this bag:
- NO Organizing capabilities - which is a BIG gripe for me, because I love and need bags that have organizing compartments
- The cloth on the outside of the bag is wearing off...what that means is, maybe due to the cloth surface rubbing against my daily clothing, there are these cloth globs all over the bag that make it seem uwack.
- Color options are minimal
LL Bean: I really wanted to like and use this bag, but alas I need to return it because it doesn't seem to work for me. If you dont care, and just need a shoulder bag in which you can dump everything in a compartment, then this may work for you!

This is well-made and fine. It was just too big for me to use.
