This stainless steel mug is exceptionally well built! All of the seals are high quality and the tea basket fits very tightly against the lid. It feels sturdy in the hand. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality, well insulated travel mug.

Rated 4 out of 5 by gma4 as a thermos great.......
This is a great little thermos keeping my beverages hot (or cold) for hours. The shape is very comfortable to hold. Just toss the unmanageable tea apparatus (I brew using a disposable tea bag for my loose leaf tea and brew right in the thermos). Well worth the price even without the strainer.

Although designed for brewing and drinking tea, the mug is unsuitable. Tea drinkers do not like to have to take each sip of tea filtered through the steeped leaves in the basket. The tea just keeps getting stronger and stronger and tastes worse and worse.
Instructions state not to remove the basket when a hot beverage is present. So how do you drink it?
In addition, unscrewing the lid each time you want a sip is tedious.
Sorry, Bean. It sounded like a good idea to somebody. I'll be sending mine back.

Rated 1 out of 5 Not good for strong teas
I've seen a few reviews with both pros and cons and I thought I would bridge the gap.
Very nice vacuum mug.
Robust lid apparatus.
The tea strainer is ridiculously difficult to remove. Attempting to brew hot green tea for 3min and then remove the leaves is not a possibility unless you want 3rd degree burns all over you body. Picture this: you grasp the scalding hot tea strainer (with an iron grip to remove its tight seal) and then are showered with hot tea leaves because it jerks open and the lid is NOT tightly sealed and hot metal, leaves and liquid spew everywhere. If you can maintain a handle on the rest of the assembly, you will have hot, metallic-tasting green tea all day!! >B-]
...But it's fine for Darjeeling, Puer or Chai which can sit there all day without tasting nasty. Unfortunately, I prefer green or black teas with 2-5min brew times before they get super bitter.

I was looking forward to using this mug. It seemed like a wonderful idea. Unfortunately I was unable to ever open the tea basket of the mug. It seemed stuck tight to the other parts of the mug. I asked my husband to also see if he could help me, but he also was not able to get the piece unstuck. I guess this will be going back to my regret.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MEvacationer poorly designed for tea
This is a nice stainless steel thermos. However -- the tea strainer sits under the top. It fits very tightly by pressure, so removing it with tea in the mug means straining to work the dripping strainer off with very hot tea leaves in it which will spill all over the place (the cover to the tea strainer is loose) or leaving the tea leaves in the strainer and sipping all the tea through the strainer, also not a good idea. Nice idea, but poorly designed for tea. I'm returning the one I ordered unused.

I love it. It took some time to remove the tea basket. It kept my tea warm for 3 hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OldTimeyModern The Greatest Tea Mug Ever
Absolutely lives up to the description. I commute an hour to work only to arrive with (at best) a luke-warm beverage. I've been on the search for a mug that would hold the heat; and this is it! The tea basket is sturdy and does the job - or easily snaps off for coffee or soup. Super easy to clean too. My tea is piping hot at my desk and is steaming hot hours later. This is the greatest tea mug ever.
