Bummer! These jeans are so close to being perfect. The denim is soft, comfortable and not flimsy. The vintage wash was good-looking. The fit is lovely, very flattering, fitted but not tight: basically perfect in the hip/butt/crotch and through the whole leg. I am 5'1" 120lb, pear-shaped (27" waist, 36" hip), and ordered 4 Reg. (Petite was sold out. Reg was 3" too long for me.)
But the waist is HUGE! The waist circumference seems to be just slightly larger than the circumference of the hip/butt area. If you're apple-shaped, definitely give these a try.
Bean, would you make these in a "curvy" version please? Make the waist small but don't change the proportions of the butt/crotch/thigh.

Love these jeans! Perfect weight, just the right amount of stretch, soft, comfortable and VERY slimming! Although I am retired, the low rise works for my kinda straight body. I'm 5'6", 150 lbs (38.5" X 33" X38.5") & size 12 fits perfectly. They look darling rolled up just as pictured on the site. I haven't washed them yet.
Kudos to all the customers who took the time to review. Helps me immensely in choosing what to order. As always, LL Beans quality is bar none!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Authentic Perfect fit for me!
These are a lower rise than the Signature skinnies. Both styles fit me as if they were tailor made for me in my size petite 0.
I have a slender feminine form. 100#s nearly 5'4" tall. I have a 24" waist and 34" hips. I like my jeans to fit in the waist and hip seat without room to spare. On my figure there is no extra bunching of fabric In these.
These are lightweight enough for comfort, with a little give for movement, while holding their shape throughout the day. This is day 3 in a row that I am wearing them. Love them over an ankle or western style boot,
A real wardrobe staple In the vintage wash, and superior in quality to many competitor's offerings which are priced higher.
A bit concerned over the elimination of the petite range from Signature this season--particularly in slacks and jeans. The petites were scaled down to fit a more delicate frame. However, going forward I will try some of the spring offerings in regular 0.
I particularly like how the out seam is finished on Signature jeans in the traditional way with the double row of stitching. I hate when the seam is inverted--which causes a tuxefo striped effect after wash and wear. Bravo to Bean for paying this attention to this detail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by halcyondaze Great for a straighter shape!
I have ALWAYS had an aversion to LL Bean jeans, because every pair in every style that I tried were consistently too small in the waist while too roomy in the thighs. These jeans, in my opinion, are probably not for the hourglass shape. They seem more suited to the straght shape, like mine-YEA and FINALLY.
In fact I only took a chance on them because of the other reviews saying the same.
The fabric is a little thin, but very comfortable.
I am 5'7" 145lbs 31" inseam. I would have to order a 10L, in other LL Bean styles, just to accomodate for waist. In this style the 8R fits great and is long enogh, so far(hopefully no shrinkage in length with washing).

I LOVE these jeans! They are a little thin, I'm waiting to see how they hold up. I usually dislike jeans because they are uncomfortable to me but these are awesome, very comfortable! Cute fit, they do stretch a little. These are my favorite jeans and would recommend them to anyone : )

Best jeans I've ever had. Lightweight and fit through hips and thighs where other jeans are often baggy on my size 8 frame. Friends have asked where I got them, which is unusual when wearing jeans. The only downside is that I'm in Canada and have to pay exchange rates and import duties, which puts them close to $100 per pair. Would love for L.L. Bean to expand to Canada.

I got these jeans about two months ago and have worn them nearly every day since then. My biggest complaint against most jeans I've ever owned is that they stretch out after the first wear and become saggy in the seat and look horrible. I'm pleased to say that after nearly constant wear for two months these jeans have held up great. They fit just as well as when I first tried them on. They are on the thin side but the denim doesn't feel low quality. The wash is great (I got the indigo). A note on the size: I am 5' 4" and weigh 124. I like my jeans to be form fitting (tight but not obscenely so). To get that fit with these jeans I ended up buying a 0. I'm usually a 2 or 4 at other stores. The 0s just fit right even though it sounds crazy to me to have size 0 jeans. All in all they just fit awesome--I love them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Peartree Big waist
These jeans are low in the rise as I was expecting but too big in the waist and narrow in the thighs. I'm normally a size 8 but got these in a 10. The hips/thighs were fine but waist big by four inches. The fabric also was not to my liking as it was quite thin and the colour a rather muted light blue that looked dated to me. If you have any shape to your waist these will gap open in the back on you.

I always have trouble finding jeans to fit my boxy shape. I have a waist of 29" and hips of 32" so I never line up with the charts. I ordered a size 4 and it fits perfectly. The lower waist band seems to solve my particular problem. The fit is yummy! Not too tight that I have no room to expand after a good meal yet not too roomy that I'm always tugging at them. The Signature line offers a better fit than Bean's regular line. Congrats Beanie!

Rated 2 out of 5 by mtbjane Back pockets are too big!
I ordered a petite size 6 in white. I am 5'2" and about 125 lbs. I normally wear a 6 in llbean. I find that with Signature items, you need to go up a size. I should have ordered an 8.
The issue with these pants is that the back pockets are too big and look unflattering from behind. They are not only unflattering, but make the jeans look unstylish and frumpy. I returned the size 6 back, but did not reorder because of the pocket issue.
