The snowshoes worked well for our first winter in Northern Michigan. Very easy to use from the first steps and handled well uphill and downhill without effort. The only drawback was the back strap, thick plastic, was difficult to adjust and the extra portion of the strap wouldn't stay in the, not well designed, clip. The shoes allowed my husband and I more winter adventure and exercise. What a hoot!

We finally have some snow so I could try these out. I'm 5'5", intermediate outdoor athlete, and wear a 7.5 shoe. These were easy to "walk" in. I've always used my authentic, bear paw snowshoes, but wanted something a little lighter for traveling. So far I've used them on packed trails as well, as powder and found they worked well for each. Now, if you're intending them for competition, you might consider they are a bit stiff, but not stiff enough to count them out. I appreciate the "grippers" on the bottom that catch the ice for better stability on those conditions. Any winter hiker or boot will fit, and they are easy to get on and off with the pull tabs. I love that once you get them fitted, that's it. The front toe box is stiff, as it's plastic, which makes it a little tricky for stepping out of. I find I need to stretch it open a bit with my hands to more easily step out of. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Hint: You will be disappointed in the packaged set Bean's sells.

I've been waiting for months to use my new snowshoes, and it's been worth it. They fit well, the bindings are easy to use, and the shoes are nice and light.

I really like these snowshoes. I am new at this sport so I do not have experience with other snowshoes. The clamp over the toes is very easy to work. The v-strap which goes around the back of my boot is difficult to hook, but once hooked seems to hold very well. I would recommend these for a beginner.
