i usually wear a large (size 12) but ordered an XL for roominess. The jacket is VERY visible and comfortable. I probably could have ordered a L but I wanted the option to layer. The sleeves are a touch too long but you can easily fold over. I will probably wear this to the YMCA before dawn each morning. I need the visibility for sleepy motorist who fail to see people walking across the parking lot.

Most reviews said this ran small so I ordered a Large because I wanted to put on layers underneath. I found that the size was accurate. It is actually to big for me but I kept it because I needed it for a ride. The color is nice & bright. I'm using it for cycling & rode on a 45 degree day. It did a good job of keeping the wind & cold out. I felt like I was very visible. I probably could have done with a medium & been just fine.

...with a really high visibility factor. Perfect for night-time walks with my dogs. The fit is perfect and the jacket provides light weight comfort for cool, damp outings.

Rated 2 out of 5 by grampysgirl Totally mis-sized
After reading the other reviews with uniform comments about this jacket running small, I ordered a size larger than I normally wear. I am a standard medium but ordered a large and even that was too small. It clearly is a quality jacket but I am not sure who it fits. I did return it and did not re-order an even larger size as then the sleeves, shoulders, length, etc would no doubt be too big even if the body fit. Too bad...

I bought the large. Normally, I wear a medium in in Pima cotton tshirts. Jacket fits well. I run and walk in it. A previous review claimed the sleeves are long. Yes! Sleeves are designed long to provide coverage while running and can protect the hands from wind when gloves are too warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VisionSeeker Just What I Needed!
I was looking for a lightweight jacket that was comfortable, water resistant, could be worn in more than one season, and would make me visible when walking on our busy country road. This one meets all of those requirements. Plus, it fits well. (I did order a size large rather than my usual medium, which fits perfectly.) I also like the inside pockets for phone or iPod. My only regret is that it doesn't have a hood.

Very good quality, weighless, bright color jacket. Doesn't wrinkle and will stop the wind. Recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Michiganrunner1213 Love this jacket!
Was hesitant to order based on some of the reviews, but this jacket is exactly what I wanted! I purchased the yellow/green color for visibility. Trust me- I'm visible :) Not sure what the negative sizing reviews were about. It seems to be sized appropriately for an active person. It isn't however, a generic windbreaker. For reference, I am 5'7" and 145 lbs. My bust is 34/36C. By measurements I am a medium, but I have broader shoulders and often need a large. Based on reviews, I bought the large and couldn't be happier! I've run in temps down to 19 degrees so far, and with layers, this jacket performs exactly as described. Still not tight with 3 layers under. Blocks the wind very well! Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanYogini Great Running Jacket
I recently purchased this jacket after deciding that I will be running outdoors through the winter this year instead of using the treadmill. Great material and great quality ( zipper) in this jacket as with all of Brooks products. I wore it yesterday, layered with an insulated half-zip running shirt, on a day that was about 30 degrees with a light breeze. Jacket kept me warm, especially through the arms, but was breathable. It was a misty day and the jacket repelled water and kept me dry. I also own the Brooks vest, which I love, but doesn't keep my arms warm. Washed and hung to dry, came out looking brand new. I ordered a size up, Large- even though I am a medium in everything but the most fitted garments, due to other reviews and reading that larger busted woman found this jacket tight, but I did not find this to be true. I think I could have gotten away with a medium, even layered. I will keep the large as I really need the jacket now. Highly recommend for outdoor winter activities like running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OhioRnner GREAT for running
I have the earlier model of this jacket (the 2) bought earlier this year from LL Bean. It is GREAT for running in cold or windy conditions. I vary what I wear underneath depending upon the temperature. I have comfortably worn it to run in 20 degree weather. I know some people complain about the sizing. I bought a large so that I can layer as needed. In other LLBean stuff I order a M, so yes I sized up. But this jacket cannot be beat for visibility (and I enjoy having it in pink since all my other visibility stuff is that bright green/yellow) and it is great for keeping me comfortable on fall/winter runs.
