Rated 5 out of 5áby CrystalBlue LOVE this coat but now it is too late...
I ordered this coat back in January. The color selection was limited - meaning I did not like the three colors, so I ordered black. I am typically not a big fan of black, but I wanted the coat, so I ordered it. I loved this coat and everything about it - except the color. So I sent it back hoping they would come out with more colors in the change of season. Well, it looks like they are discontinuing this coat. I am now very sad I did not keep the black and dress it up with a beautiful scarf for color. LLBean, why do you discontinue your best products? Please bring this back - just the way you designed it - no changes - please!!!

Rated 5 out of 5áby waitasec SO NICE!
This parka is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I ordered M Petite and it fits my 5' 2" 123 lbs perfectly in the body and sleeves. The cobalt is a beautiful and fresh looking colour, and the cut of the parka is very flattering. There are SO many practical plusses to this parka: the heavy two-way zipper and snaps, drawstring waist, adjustable hood - both at neck and on top at the back, light but warm lining everywhere including the hood, interior silky finish so the parka slides on and off easily, adjustable sleeves at the wrists, substantial waterproof outer material, etc.. I could go on and on and on?

Rated 5 out of 5áby DroughtTolerant Nice parka, good length
This is a very nice parka with nice features: good insulation, pockets, hood, and draw-string cord. I bought it in the red color, which is pretty. I really like this coat, but even on sale it was still expensive and a real sacrifice to buy. In fact I still have not yet worn it because I'm debating whether or not to keep it. (I've kept in clean & safe in the plastic wrapping it arrived in).
Although the great economic recession is supposed to be over, it does not feel that way for many of us middle-class single earners. It is hard to find a nice, warm, waterproof coat for those of us on a real budget. That's why I've never gotten myself a good insulated waterproof long coat. Not that I couldn't use one, but it's usually a purchase that's well over $150. These days you pay sometimes $200 + for a good coat that works in the wet cold weather. And when there's a long, cold, weird winter going on--like this winter of 2013/2014, that makes the search for an adequate coat all the more urgent.
LL Bean, could you please offer some better discounts without sacrificing quality--or the financial security of your company? I like LL Bean's quality and customer service; but it's very competitive to get nice items on your website. Many of us are in the disappearing middle class, so the competition is fiercer for decent-quality items. Feel free to edit my review, or contact me, because what I've written goes beyond the review for this item. Thanks for listening, LL Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Rosialie practical, comfortable parka
This jacket has been waterproof and windproof as well as comfortable and well-fitting.
One thing I would change is to lengthen it by 1 inch.It seems to be slightly shorter than advertized.
I've had this jacket for 7 years-would like to replace it next year.
I really hope LL Bean will continue to offer this same jacket next year.
It is perfect for cold, rainy days or mild snowy or just cold(but not freezing days.)

Rated 4 out of 5áby NYgal Finally!
I sent back a few parka type jackets the past couple of years due to quality, style & fit issues, though I have some old ( really old!) Bean jackets which are fine. The womens hunting coat is discontinued - bought it this year and if only there were more exactly like it, different colors, bi- swing back, pockets, Iinsulated, I'd be in heaven. I have this raincoat with the zip out wool liner, which fits fine in PM but is not warm enough for really cold weather; style is fine. Now it come in an insulated version, so I decided to try it, but one size larger, PL in case I wear a sweater or vest underneath. It's a fine coat, seems to be roomy without being loose. I am 5'3" 140 lbs. with an older figure ( 'tummy ' but not bad ) . The only thing I would change is to put the pockets a bit higher, maybe patch pockets, and make the hood removeable like the lined version. Otherwise, it's a bit pricey but I expect it will last a long time like my older a Bean jackets. The longer length is just right also. I got the black so I can use it as a dress or casual coat.

Rated 5 out of 5áby mainefan2005 comfortable and warm
The XL petite fit well. the slash at the back makes it easier to scoop up after my dog with out unzipping from the bottom up.
Perfect shoulder season coat. wish you made one that fits so well with a Thinsulate lining for the -20 C weather we will be getting.
Please size from the inside out and not the outside in.

Rated 5 out of 5áby katymoo LOVE this jacket
This is exactly what I was dreaming of - love the color, the weight, the warmth, the fit. I was looking for something easy to wear for those 30+degree days when my puffy down coat feels like too much - or the wet weather the down can't take. This is it! Comfy enough for anytime, warm enough for a below-freezing morning (and room for a fleece vest underneath if needed!) Love the below hip length, and the hood is perfect, plus handy for when I forget a hat. The fabric is soft, and the lining glides right over your clothes when you slip it on. Shipping was super fast and I couldn't be happier. Thank you LLBean!

Rated 2 out of 5áby SeniorAndActive Nice coat, didn't fit
I loved this parka and so much wanted to keep it, but it just didn?t fit me. I?m a 5?5? plus size woman. I ordered a size 2x and a 3x because I didn?t know which one would fit me best. Unfortunately I had to return both of them because neither one fit. I love the fabric and the style. The fabric is like the older version of the raincoat that I bought a few years back and love, love, love. But with the extra insulation the 2x was too tight through the shoulders and the 3x was huge. In addition, on both coats, the sleeves were way too long and the snaps on the cuffs did not allow me to snug them tight enough to compensate for the extra length. I guess I?ll just have to wear my old raincoat with a fleece underneath it because I just haven?t been able to find an insulated coat that fits me well.
I would recommend this coat to anyone who can find the right size and fit for their body type.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Hamnophee2 Perfect for the coldest wet florida weather
For northerners this would not be the selected coat for your coldest day but for Florida it is. I have to walk the dogs rain or shine, cold or hot. This is a well made raincoat, with "slippery" insulated lining so it is easy to slip on and off. It has a warm collar and hood and well placed pockets. I haven't had to use it yet but before long the cold will arrive and I will be very happy to have it. I ordered my usual size and it fits as I want it to. This will be my go-to winter RV camping coat.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Meandmythree I love this coat!
This is a great coat if you are looking for something to wear when the weather turns colder but before the dead of winter sets in. The fabric is not stiff like other waterproof winter coats I have tried, and the insulation is not bulky. The hood provides good coverage, even for my big head! As for sizing, I am 5' 5" and 130 lbs...I bought a size small and it is a good fit, very flattering. There is adequate length in the arms, and room for a sweater underneath. There is also an internal drawstring to cinch the waist a little for a less boxy fit. I like that the coat covers my hips. The "Deep Red" color is nice, somewhere between red and berry I would say. I've had the coat for about a week now and would recommend it highly.
