Rated 3 out of 5 by Vaccinium There are better fleece pullovers
After 2-3 years of light use, I conclude that there are better fleece pullovers on the market. Performance has been adequate, but not exceptional. Noticeable pilling of the fabric began after only a few months and the garment now looks quite shabby. Cuffs are open (not elastic, as they were on previous versions of this product) which drives me crazy. They hang down near my fingers, get soaked with slush, brush my food, etc.. I would be happy to pay an additional $10-20 for a more durable fleece fabric and a little bit of elastic tape stitched to the cuffs. I assume these observations apply to the Trail Model Fleece Jacket as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mike1203 Skin tight pullover fleece
Sizing on this fleece is inaccurate. I'm a XL in all other garments and they fit fine, but this item is skin tight through the chest, shoulders, and arms. Very uncomfortable. I'm returning it for a refund as I doubt even a XXL would be sufficient.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SeattleNick Large bell-shaped body, pockets actually kangaroo
Wanted to like this, but can't. I'm 6'2", 185" fairly athletic build. The cut is much larger than predicted based on its sizing measurements. It is also built more bell-shaped, might be great for a big guy with more of a belly. Also, the pockets are actually a single kangaroo pocket - kind of annoying since not advertised as such.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Normalwoman Why don't they make these for women, too?
I have been looking for a fleece like this for years! I have one that I bought 15 years ago at another store which was also a man's. I love the kangaroo pocket as I can put my cellphone in it without having to worry about it falling out. I love the long sleeves which can be folded back but can be unfolded to provide warmth for cold hands. It is roomy without being huge so I can layer underneath it.
I am an average size woman, 5'7", 125 lbs. and either a Med or a L fits me well. Actually, they appear to be exactly the same size! I have a Med charcoal gray and a L red and they are identical in sleeve length, width & length of body and the shoulders are the same width.
They are lightweight yet very cozy and warm.....very soft! I also like the snap closure instead of a zipper. Much warmer in winter and easy to manage.
My suggestion: Please, LL Bean!!! Make this same style for women, too! It is frustrating to have to buy men's clothes to get a fleece with pockets and that isn't close-fitting thereby precluding layers.
I, for one, am glad that you brought these back! Love the Polartec 200 fabric!

Rated 5 out of 5 by catladyinchief Works for women too!
I'm a 5'7", 125 lb woman who doesn't like girly fit fleeces, and I feel like I've hit the jackpot with this jacket. I ordered a small in spruce and it fits me exactly how I like. The sleeves are a little bit long, but I like that I can pull them down to cover my hands. The body is not too loose or too tight and the shoulders actually fit correctly. I can comfortably wear a flannel underneath.
I highly recommend this jacket for women who prefer a looser fit in their outerwear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CaptainAlbee Size sleeves to long body to small!
I have purchased 5 of these before. this one is marked the same size as all the others but the body is to small and the sleeves are to long. After many years of buying things from L.L. bean I am finding that the sizes are all over the place. This is the third thing that I have purchased that is not what the size marked should be.

Jacket was very lightweight....main problem was sizing....ordered the size I always order....jacket was both too small and too short.....while this is becoming typical of other retailers, it isn't expected from LLB....the price is good for a lightweight if the customer can order at least one and preferably two sizes larger than needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LBA7895 Very Interesting Item!
This item was #1 on my Christmas "wish list" for apres kayaking warmups. And I especially liked the Vibrant Red color. When it arrived, I really liked the softness and weight of the Polartec 200 of which it's made; and knew it was the exact weight I had hoped for. Plus I like the marsupial pockets to keep your hands warm.
The only two negatives (and for most people they wouldn't be) are: First, it's "fit" is trimmer than regular. If you have a geezer paunch like me, you might feel this item accentuates your corpulance. If you are lean and fit, you're going to LOVE the fit! Second, the trim fit begs the question of what to wear underneath. It's warm enough to get by in a t-shirt; but ideally, you need something silky to get into the sleeves and tight to your body. Not a biggie, but I doubt a loose fitting t-neck would work with it. I have a royal blue rash guard that I think will work just fine. All in all, everything I was hoping for. Thanks Mrs. Claus!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Goodhue Love It!
I've owned several Bean Fleece Pullovers over the years and up until now I always preferred the zip-up over the snap buttons. But because every variation of the Bean Fleece Pullover has kept me warm,I decided to buy another. I'm very happy that I did! The fleece is soft and warm and the snap buttons close and open easily.I've been enjoying the one I recently bought in Alpine Gold so much, that I just ordered another in Vibrant Red. 5 stars, and highly recommended!
