Rated 1 out of 5 by SwissBean Feels like polyester and easily wears out.
Just not the classic quality LL Bean type sweater.

Just every so often, I wear a crewneck sweater. I have many of LL Bean's cotton/cashmere V-necks, and I love them, so when I needed a crewneck to wear with other shirts or jackets, I went to my favorite light everyday sweater. I am not sorry.
I really believe that the best dollar-for-dollar value offered by Bean might be these sweaters. They are warm enough for me (note that I hate being too warm), look good under a sport coat or just over a t-shirt, are easy to care for, and are available in several fashionable and traditional colors.
I estimate that I buy two or three cotton/cashmere sweaters each year; I may very well add more crewnecks to the collection given that I like this one.

A lightweight 'cashmere" appealed to me, but unfortunately I went through two of these -- one a return and one I just simply didn't bother to return -- before I gave up.
At first try, this is a very comfortable sweater, but in both case, the material tore in the underarm areas, simply by pulling the sweater over a light undershirt.
I fear that, in the emphasis to make this a light garment, the material is just too thin. Wish it were otherwise.

I ordered the black sweater in L and it's definitely true to size relative to my other LL Bean purchases. Color and weight are great. I won't be buying sweaters anywhere else from now on....

I purchased this sweater because I have a similar product from L. L. Bean that has been entirely satisfactory. My complaint with this sweater is that its actual color is a harsh orange--quite different from the more subdued, softer, color that appears on the on-line description.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Muleman68 Terrific value
First, I'm trying to write about the solid version of this. (I own an earlier version of the stripe - bigger and bolder stripes) as well as 3 solids. All are excellent.
As noted by another reviewer, the fit is terrific. Care is easy - well, especially easy if you live in the Rocky Mountain area because drying is laying it out flat. Here, that process is done within a day. On the coasts? Probably longer.
That said, this is a terrific product - as comfortable and versatile as it gets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ScottyRed Fits well, light weight
I am 6 foot tall, 205 lbs, with an athletic build. I purchased the Large/Tall size and it fits me PERFECTLY. It is very form fitting, no baggy/loose fabric to be found.
I was surprised by how light the fabric is (it is very thin). I would not wear this sweater on its own for warmth, it is not heavy enough.
However, it fits really well and is soft and comfortable. If you are looking for more of an "outdoor" sweater, I would recommend the Double L Cotton sweater.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Beanj Nice sweater and price
Have three of the v-neck version. After wearing these almost every day since the cool weather started, decided to get two crew necks as well. Real nice for the price and prefer these over a merino or wool sweater. Also no need to be concerned with moth chewing holes in these like they have done to several of my more expensive wool sweaters

Rated 5 out of 5 Light weight yet warm
I own two of these sweaters in different colors and just bought a third. They are light weight and warm. Perfect for fall nights when it is starting to get chilly but not cold enough for a serious sweater. They are well made and my medium size fits me perfectly.
