Rated 5 out of 5áby activeoutdoorsylady fun shirt
Fits my tomboy-shaped girl figure (5'6", 135 lbs) - small size. The red/navy stripes are fun! - Always wanted one of these...

Rated 5 out of 5áby Mervich Lakewashed Rugby Shirt
Got the Navy/Goldenrod/White example today via UPS (WOO HOO! Free shipping!). The fit is perfect in XL (my normal size)?roomy, but not baggy?sleeve length is as expected. There have been a few complaints about the weight of the fabric. True, this is not a heavy weight shirt, but it's certainly not so light as to be t-shirt or polo shirt weight either?it is more of a medium weight jersey fabric. Attractive, bright colors with a twill button placket and a pinwale corduroy collar. Overall, this is a really nice looking casual shirt that is soft and easy to wear. I don't know?maybe if you're playing rugby, you'll possibly need a heavier shirt. Otherwise, this is a premium offering.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Sigslinger Bring back the under-arm gussets
In the past year, I've bought a couple rugby shirts and they no longer have the under-arm gussets that then rugbys from 20 years ago had. This is a shame, as these improve freedom of movement and are not superfluous. Otherwise, the quality is still excellent. After years of non-use, my 20+ -year old rugbys are still in great shape and back to being some of my favorites, now with a "vintage" mystique :)

Rated 1 out of 5áby Griduser Ditto on dip in quality
I currently have 3 of the "old" rugby shirts from LL Bean and I can tell you that the quality is amazing. I had 2 others that I finally wore out. The shirts I have now are thick, have real rubber buttons, launder well, fit perfectly, and have lasted a LONG time. The one I'm wearing as I type this is my oldest. It is at least 15 years old and has finally developed a dime-sized hole in the front. I've been waiting for LL Bean to bring back a shirt like this for a few years, but they keep selling this new lightweight stuff that is, as others have mentioned, just a long sleeve polo shirt.
If you bought and are satisfied with this new shirt, you didn't really want a rugby shirt, just a long-sleeve polo shirt with a rugby stripe. If you've ever owned and worn one of their "vintage" rugby shirts, you know what I'm talking about.
Also, being 6' 4", I need the tall size. Evidently LL Bean no longer sells these shirts in Tall sizes. That's a shame.
PLEASE bring back the real thing, LL Bean. I need to replace my favorite red one soon.

Rated 1 out of 5áby battie poor quality
This is not up to the previous LLBean rugby shirt standards. It's too thin and not as durable as the shirts used to be. It's very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5áby BunnyBuster75 Comfortable, good fit.
This is a nice shirt. It is different than LL Beans' previous rugby. This is lighter weight material. However, I think its still good and I actually like it better because I'm not as hot. The fit is excellent. Just the same as the previous rugby, a little loose but not too loose. Just enough to layer a T shirt underneath if you needed.

My husband loved your rugby shirts in the past. But now there are no tall men's rugby shirts. He is 6'4" with long arms and needs the tall. Please bring them back!

Rated 1 out of 5áby ToddInPA This isn't a rugby
This is not a rugby jersey, it is more like a long sleeved polo dressed up to look like a rugby jersey. In the past your rugby jerseys have been heaveyweight, amazingly durable and comfortable. This shirt is a complete joke compared to those. My return is on its way!

Rated 2 out of 5áby dsrnj not a true rugby shirt
This is not a true rugby shirt. It is rugby-like as per the color pattern and style. The material is totally different from 'bean" rugby's of the past. This is a regular 3 button polo shirt. It wears like a wet noodle - even the collar is flimsy - the buttons are rubber coated and not rubber thru and thru. Its not a bad shirt - but not what i wanted when i order a traditional rugby shirt.

Rated 1 out of 5áby Otterbio New Rugby Shirt
The change in the material of your Rugby shirt is terrible. I always looked forward to ordering the others you offered. They were thick in material and sturdy, not to mention warm. This new shirt has none of these qualities. I am in the process of returning the one that arrived today. Does lake washed mean thin and t-shirt like? I hope L L Bean returns to the original formula for their Rugby shirts.
