Rated 5 out of 5áby MarkFromPA Beautiful Piece of Furniture. Modified for use.
The wood on this is beautifully finished, solid oak. To quote my Dad, "It's so strong, you could butcher an ox on it." I assembled it by myself, using books to prop up the opposite ends of the shelves. The TV and peripherals fit nicely, and I added heavy duty casters with U-brackets to the legs so that I could move it easily. I also moved the middle shelf upward by 1" so that I could stand DVD cases upright on the bottom shelf without having to tilt them to get them past the overhang of the middle shelf. LL. Bean may want to consider making the middle shelf adjustable and providing an optional caster kit. The open back does show wires but is necessary for the beauty of the piece. I recommend using cable ties or wraps to run the wires down the back legs of the center.

High quality and easy, with a second pair of hands, to assemble . An optional back, to hide hiring, would make it more functional and esthetic.

The media center is quite solid; looks great. (Weighs about 70 lbs.) Needed two of us to put together, but less than 30 minutes total time.

I would not call this a "media center" more like a very nice TV table. To me a media center would be able to hold all the movies on disk standing up on the lower shelves instead of lying them on the side. I really like the finish product in the dark mission stain.
I put this together by myself with a power drill. I will admit it was a struggle to get the middle and top shelves on one side. The trick I used was to use the wall to help balance the sides that were open (did not have the other side attached). A lot nicer than the old TV center I had before getting this one.

10 minutes to unpack & inspect. 15 minutes to assemble. 12 screws (#2 Philips) and 12 wood plugs. It was a snap.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Daysie Fine TV table
We recently ordered and received a disassembled Mission Media Center. The table was very easily constructed with no loud insults from the handyman. There was a minor problem with many of the screw holes too small for driving in the screws fully (as noted by others here); problem easily solved by widening the holes slightly with a drill. The resulting table has a fine elegant appearance.

Arrived very quickly, in 3 days. Packed well, one small dent in wood on top shelf but not noticeable when against the wall. Easily put together, able to do it by hand.,but not able to get screws all the way in without power drill. Looks well with side table and bookcase that I bought previously.

Yes! A media center (even though I call it a tv stand) that is attractive. Well made, fits right in. Not a piece of particle board in sight! Shelves spaced far enough apart that I could even fit our receiver on one of the shelves. Doesn't jump out and say "Flat Screen Media Center!", just quietly holds all the electronics in a nice unobtrusive way. I really really like it. Been searching for a couple of years, didn't really think to shop LLBean for the TV, but so happy I did.

This Media Center is great, I can set all my components on the shelves, even the sound bar is off the floor. It's very good quality and was easy to put together.

My expectations were far exceeded. Great looking piece of furniture, the wood is beautiful, solid wood, solid looking, perfect size for 46 in TV. Went together easily with a little help from my husband. So much nicer than similar pieces I saw in same price range at major furniture stores. Actually it is nicer looking than TV consoles I saw at higher prices.
