I ordered this for my 11 yr old son and he absolutely LOVES it! It is a little brighter than pictured but we like that. He loves the zip out jacket and the moveability of the overall coat.

This is an amazing coat. We got the slate and spring green combination and it is just the right pop of color. The coat is warm and not bulky and fits the "cool" factor that my son needs/wants as he is entering the "tween" phase. So glad we got this coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BluegrassBean An excellent multi-season coat for teen
My son, who is a young teen, was super happy to get this new coat. He loves the soft, fluffy fleece on the inside and the 3 in 1 aspect of the design means he'll be using it easily from mid-fall through mid-spring for a couple of years. It's roomy enough that there's room to grow, but I don't expect he'll be able to wear it out. The blue on blue color will make it easy to pass down to his younger siblings and not look dated/trendy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ColdLakeLander Awesome coat!
This coat makes my son look stylish and warm for the winter. When it arrived, he insisted on zipping out the fleece liner. He now enjoys chilling around the house in the fleece part. The inner layer of the fleece is super soft. There is also a nice texture to the shell fabric you can't see in the pictures which make it look very good quality. Only suggestion would be to bring the manufacture of this and other garments back to the USA. Your Maine-made Bean boots are impressive and no doubt you could do the same for your clothes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ChiRunner Looks great, but....
My son picked the Wildcat Parka out this year. The coat looks great and he loves the zip out fleece liner. I think the coat is good quality, just like I expect from LLBean. I bought it a little big expecting to get two winters out of it, however I am now wondering if it will make it through this winter. Despite a few cold days back in November, we have had fairly mild temperatures for Chicago and my son is already complaining that he is cold, even when wearing a sweatshirt underneath. If we have another polar vortex like last year I am afraid the poor kid will freeze if he is already cold in 30 degree temps! I feel like they forgot to sew some lining inside his coat or something! Love the look, but wish it was warmer. We got our coat from LLBean last year too and had no complaints.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Hanley Bit of a hassle.
This coat fits well, is warm, and my son likes the color. Zipping and buttoning the fleece in and out is a bit of a chore, but was expected. The problem is that with a fleece sleeve, my son has a hard time getting his long sleeve shirt down without it rolling up. Holding on to the sleeve helps, but there is still alot of friction between the shirt and fleece. This is only magnified with the addition of a watch, or the occasional flannel shirt. The layers only cooperate with a short sleeve shirt on underneath. Don't try it at all with a sweatshirt. I will not be attempting any more 3 in 1s. I will stick with jackets that have the slick interior sleeves for my son.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GoffstownBrewer Great winter coat
Every time we need to get a new winter coat for our kids, it's this one! Lightweight, versatile and keeps them warm. Whether we're outside clearing the driveway or skiing down NH slopes, I never have to worry about my kids being cold.

I could not be happier. Very warm and well made. Runs a little large but still fits well. The scarlett color is more bright orangy than red.
