Rated 4 out of 5 by BusyIsBetter Comfortable out of water too!
I bought this tankini top a month ago but haven't worn in water yet. I can report though that it is very comfortable for non-water activities! I wear it out and about with a sweatshirt - love the Lily Pond Hoodie as a light cover - and for biking and low impact exercise. On a hot day I put on the tankini and don't want to take it off. I look colorful and sporty and definitely don't feel like I'm wearing a swim top. The blue floral is feminine but not twee - I love it.
I must have a similar body shape to the 36C/D reviewer below because I too found that the size 6 was too tight up top (on my similar bust size) and the size 8 perfect up top and a too loose in the midriff. I'm slightly worried that chlorine might stretch the fabric over time and I'll wish I'd gotten a size 6, but for now I'm keeping the 8 and will deal with a stretch out if it ever comes to that. Besides, I might end up just wearing my one-piece in the pool and keep this top for beach/lake time, or just for BIKING.
Great design for those of us who don't necessarily want to share cleavage with the world!

I'm a 34C/D. Tried both the 6 and 8. The 6 is snug under the arms and around the back but fits well around the waist. The 8 is more comfortable around the top and back but looser in the waist. Went with the 8 but I will say the waist becomes baggy when wet. Otherwise it is cute and functional so not a big deal. Has been my go to top for the beach with my young kids. No worries about popping out of a swimsuit that isn't supportive enough. This has a a nice cut at the bust and good support. I bought the blue/green color. Might buy the other color too!

I have a hard time finding swimwear that fits. I'm a 36 AA. Unlined suits make me look completely flat, and many soft cup styles are too ample for me. This tankini top is perfect. The bra lining is padded for modesty but not overly shaped. The higher neckline means I can bend over without any gaping. I love the racer back straps - very comfortable for swimming and paddling, and no worries about straps slipping off the shoulder. The size 6 is just a bit tight under the arms but otherwise fits very well. I'm so happy to have a suit that is comfortable and actually looks good!

Ordered my size & fits perfect. Great top for swimming as breaking ocean waves will flip top off but not this one plus it is comfortable too. Covers cleavage but still stylish. Very happy with purchase!

This top is comfortable and well made. It provides a lot of support without compromising fashion or comfort. Highly recommend.

I bought this in January for an island getaway. I absolutely love. It was both flattering and very functional (I snorkel and scuba), and I really liked the high neckline. It protected my chest from sun, and I didn't worry about "pop out" issues. (And I wasn't smooshed.) I'm a size 14, with a DD cup.
I was also very impressed with the quality and having been raving about LL Bean swimwear ever since I got back.

While the Sea Thistle print on this tankini top is very pretty, that's where the positive aspects end. The style is an odd fit for small figures, and not the least becoming. It does have narrow straps, although racerback and crisscross styles are not comfortable for many of us. Regular cami straps would be a far better option! I did not want to return such a pretty print, but the style was definitely not for me, and it had to be returned.
This season's swimwear selection by LLBean is a great disappointment. How about some cute, floral tankini top options that are actually becoming, rather than bland!
