So disappointed.... I was looking for a sporty top for swimming and paddling, but this was very unflattering on. I ordered a medium and typically wear a size 6, 34 C. The top was difficult to get on, gave me a "uniboob" look (ugh) and the colors were very different than those pictured on website. Sending it back. Bummer.

I measure for a size 8 but tend to wear a 10 in swimsuits, and the 10 fit perfectly. I ordered both sizes to be sure, and was surprised to see a large color difference in the 2-the 8 is more blue and yellow, and the 10 is much greener. Very comfortable top, no sagging at the neck so I can bend over without concern.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Hela Beware the inconsistent sizing
My measurements are chest 31", waist 27", hips 34.5", so I ordered a size 4 - chest 34". Way too small. I could hardly breathe once I'd struggled into it. I exchanged it for a size 8 - chest 36"- thinking surely this would be large enough. Wrong - it was too snug under the arms. The straps aren't adjustable, although that probably wouldn't have helped. The Knit Swim Shorts I ordered in a size 4 - hips 36.5" - were also way too small. I typically order XS or size 4 in non-swimwear from L. L. Bean, and find the clothes fit ok, or are too big. I'm giving up on L. L. Bean swimwear.

These run very small. I wear an xs in llbean shirts and ordered both a 6 and 8 in this suit and the 8 was very tight in the bust. The colors on this were muted and washed out looking as well. The material and length are very nice, too bad about the rest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Silver123 Very High Quality, but Stretches larger in water
I really like this swim top because it is so well made and the fabric is sturdy and comfortable.. I bought the black solid with the red detail along the strap, and I think it looks classy. Just a word of warning about the size: It does stretch out a bit in the water. My hips are smaller than my bust, so the suit does not stay down where I want it. If I order this again, I would get a 6 instead of an 8.

Rated 4 out of 5 by spargle Excellent!
I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 only because the bra tends to get rolled up while putting it on, and rolls when I'm putting on the wetsuit shorty. Otherwise, it is great and matches the various bottoms that LLBean carries. I really like having the freedom of having different pieces to match to wear, and wash out between dives. I bought the size I thought seemed right, and it was.

Rated 5 out of 5 by divenazi Great swimming apparel
This is a great top and will work well with my rash guard shirt. I teach swimming in Florida and the fit and sun protection will be perfect. Sized just right!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by BusyIsBetter Comfortable out of water too!
I bought this tankini top a month ago but haven't worn in water yet. I can report though that it is very comfortable for non-water activities! I wear it out and about with a sweatshirt - love the Lily Pond Hoodie as a light cover - and for biking and low impact exercise. On a hot day I put on the tankini and don't want to take it off. I look colorful and sporty and definitely don't feel like I'm wearing a swim top. The blue floral is feminine but not twee - I love it.
I must have a similar body shape to the 36C/D reviewer below because I too found that the size 6 was too tight up top (on my similar bust size) and the size 8 perfect up top and a too loose in the midriff. I'm slightly worried that chlorine might stretch the fabric over time and I'll wish I'd gotten a size 6, but for now I'm keeping the 8 and will deal with a stretch out if it ever comes to that. Besides, I might end up just wearing my one-piece in the pool and keep this top for beach/lake time, or just for BIKING.
Great design for those of us who don't necessarily want to share cleavage with the world!

I'm a 34C/D. Tried both the 6 and 8. The 6 is snug under the arms and around the back but fits well around the waist. The 8 is more comfortable around the top and back but looser in the waist. Went with the 8 but I will say the waist becomes baggy when wet. Otherwise it is cute and functional so not a big deal. Has been my go to top for the beach with my young kids. No worries about popping out of a swimsuit that isn't supportive enough. This has a a nice cut at the bust and good support. I bought the blue/green color. Might buy the other color too!

I have a hard time finding swimwear that fits. I'm a 36 AA. Unlined suits make me look completely flat, and many soft cup styles are too ample for me. This tankini top is perfect. The bra lining is padded for modesty but not overly shaped. The higher neckline means I can bend over without any gaping. I love the racer back straps - very comfortable for swimming and paddling, and no worries about straps slipping off the shoulder. The size 6 is just a bit tight under the arms but otherwise fits very well. I'm so happy to have a suit that is comfortable and actually looks good!
