Rated 3 out of 5 by puffinmom Plain navy, please!
I've purchased many of these socks for my husband in the past, and he loves them. Comfortable, durable, warm but not too warm. The only color that goes with his work clothes is plain navy, though. It's really disappointing that these are no longer available without also purchasing patterned socks that he would have no use for. Why plain black or gray, but not plain navy?

I really like these--they keep my feet warm but I don't sweat in them, or maybe I do but don't notice it. And you get two in a pack, which you don't always see at this price.

Love the socks. Why have you discontinued the blue Chino socks??? They go great with jeans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CSMCA10 Solid blue without stripes or prints please!
Have been wearing these socks in blue and taupe for a couple of years and really like them. I would like to purchase some new solid blue ones but can only get them paired with blue print??? No thanks!

I've been looking for dress socks that keep my feet dry. I can't stand the nylon/acrylic stuff that other retailers sell. They're tight, annoying to put on and take off, and they just don't breathe.
I took a look at some L.L. Bean socks after my neighbor got me a pair of the Merino Wool Ragg Socks (the warmest socks I've had). And then my dad went and bought two pairs of the Boot Socks one for himself and one for me.
I have to say there is nothing bad I can say about any of the socks. I can wash them. Dry them. (And no, I admit, I don't use low heat, ever.) They don't really shrink. I don't understand what other's are saying about shrinking. They stretch right back out and are not tight at all.
Also, they are called "Everyday Chino Socks" They aren't meant to be your super-warm socks. So I don't understand why someone would give them a low rating for that. Read the title.
I wish L.L.Bean offered a larger variety of patterns. I love the dressy look.
I know where I'm coming back to buy socks. I would highly recommend these socks to anyone!

Rated 2 out of 5 by GardenBirdDog Midweight Chino Sock - Very Tight
Ordered these for my husband, whose sock bin was badly in need of overhaul. Tried these because of the many great reviews.
I do most of the laundry, but know that if I am out of town for any length of time, if he does the laundry, he will overbake things in the dryer. Accordingly, I ordered a size larger than he should have needed. He typically wears a size 9D, although his latest pair of boots were 8.5. From decades of cycling and running, he has not an ounce of fat anywhere on his legs, ankles or feet. His feet are not wide, nor 'high-volume' in any way.
I ordered size Large for him, even though he should have been okay in a Medium, per the size charts. He wore one pair part of one day, and found them so intolerably tight and uncomfortable, he removed them before the day was out, saying he just couldn't stand it any longer. He'd been trying to make it to the end of the day, but just couldn't.
I find all the glowing reviews perplexing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DaveP1 Nice Enough
For the price, these are nice enough. They're only 1/3 wool and I don't find them especially warm, no more so than my all acrylic socks. Still, I use them for low energy outdoor activities and if you are using them for winter jogging or something you may find them sufficient. They have held up through about 15 wearings and washings without any significant pilling or other problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TarHeel83 Very comfy
I think these wool blend socks are very comfy and a good value. Would be interested in purchasing some navy ones but don't want the lame clown striped ones. Please package two pairs of solid navy blue together. I doubt you would get many takers, except the sartorially impaired, for the striped ones if they were sold alone.

My husband loves these socks for the mid-foot support. He really did say that when they go on it feels like putting his feet up. So we ordered 14 pairs in midweight. But please don't stop making them!
