Rated 5 out of 5áby Verticalhoundskier Ultralight 850 a good combo with Vest
I also bought this great jack with the Ultralight 850 Vest. Both products are extremely light and warm. Well constructed. Best purchase I've made for cool temps.

Rated 3 out of 5áby 50yearvtshopper Warm and wet
I have had this jacket for almost three years and have been generally satisfied with one exception. This product is a sponge. The jacket wets through in a moderate rain in less than a minute.
It has moderate warmth but very poor damp weather protection.

áby LLStu Excellent fit but limited warmth
I had a hard time finding a down jacket with a comfortable fit this season. Most other premium sports brands were tight under the arms. I am 5'5" and 170 with large arms, the Ultralight Jacket fit really well and could accommodate layers very well.
I took the jacket on a trip to China this March. It was really good for temperatures greater than 38░. However I found even with an undershirt, a flannel shirt, a sweater, and a scarf when the temperature got down near freezing (below 35░) I was not warm. When the wind kicked up it was unbearable. This is why I deducted 2 stars from a great product.
The jacket is excellent for traveling, it folds down to nothing and fits easily in a pack or the outer compartment of my suitcase.

Rated 2 out of 5áby kthor Great concept but doesn't deliver
I really love the concept of this jacket. I live in Chicago and was looking for a lightweight but warm jacket to wear before I needed to bust out my parka. I loved how warm it was but had to return the jacket because of poor stitching under the arms and feathers coming out of various places. I replaced it with a second one and still had the same issues where I was losing literally chunks of filling in holes on the arms. Way overpriced for this product.

Rated 4 out of 5áby NormInColorado A light jacket that would NOT keep you warm at -25
A nice, light-weight jacket. Super squishable, so could be shoved in the bottom of a daypack in case the weather turns cold -- as it so often does here in Colorado even in the middle of the summer.
This jacket is rated by L.L. Bean as good for -25 degrees with "moderate activity." There is no way that this jacket would keep you warm at -25 degrees! (Unless there is no wind and you are running uphill in snowshoes.) It is very thin and the construction has heat-bleeding sewn-through seams every 2 inches.
Lots of handy pockets. Would be nice if the breast pocket were deeper.

Rated 5 out of 5áby HHurricane65 Great Jacket
Surprising how lightweight and warm this coat is. With a warmer winter than the past two years we've had a lot of wet snow falling and love the fact that this coat is water proof and has the downtek fill. My only issue I had was the jacket was sized small for the Mens XL. One review stated that they could comfortably fit a few layers on with their normal size but I would disagree. I wear a 48 jacket and had to upsize to a XXL as it was much to tight in the chest. Return was handled fast and without any issues and absolutely love this jacket!!

Rated 2 out of 5áby RobZz Not very warm
I've had this for about three years. On the plus side, as stated, it is ultralight. I guess I should have realized "ultralight" and the stated comfort levels of +25 for light activity and -25 for moderate activity did not go together. My own ratings would be more like +40 for light activity and +30 for moderate activity.

Rated 2 out of 5áby Hewbacca Very Warm but Fragile
Bought this just after Christmas and returned it about a month later. It is very very warm, I was able to wear it in 10 degree F temperatures and feel comfortable. However, it started showing small holes that the down came out through, which is why I returned it.
The material is extremely thin and fragile. It's odd because I compared it in store to the Primaloft Packaway Jacket and the material on the latter is much stronger. I wish they'd offer this jacket with that material so it would last more than a month.

Rated 2 out of 5áby GIJOE1 Shockingly lightweight
I did not realize this would be undersize . But it's a size XXL TALL but it's more like a XL Tall. I suggest you order 1 size larger . I guess that's the risk you take buying online without trying on firsthand. I will keep for a spring or fall sweater, or see if it will fit nephew. What a drag all around,

Rated 5 out of 5áby paddler1953 Wouldn't leave home without it!
I've had this jacket for over a year now and it's the best and lightest winter jacket I own. I work with a college outdoor program and this jacket follows me wherever I go on our winter trips. For me it's too warm to wear while I'm active but it's a wonderful layer to add during breaks and rest stops. It does a great job keeping the wind at bay and is also great to wear around a winter campsite. The construction is solid and other than one or two down plumes coming out (which has happened in every down garment or sleeping bag I've ever owned), I can't find anything to complain about.
