Rated 5 out of 5 by ATHIKERRICK Dependable Lightweight Backcountry Jacket
I've used this jacket on 2 multi day Mt. Bike rides. Jacket is well made, very light, and packs extra small. Temps at night were high 30's to mid 40's. Perfect with a thin moisture transfer top. I pack about 15lbs of total gear including tarp, sleeping quilt, cook gear/food, rain jacket, and other items. I really appreciated the packability and how the jacket retained it's loft (thin but warm) after removing from the stuff sack. I'm planning to get another for around town use.
The jacket is cut rather trim so you can't wear several layers unless your a small frame but an Xlg fit me perfect. I do wish that LL Bean would make sizes for "normal" people.
Overall, a great outdoor jacket, Get One!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Aager Fit is extremely tight for a XXL
Love the idea, but the fit was tight (I am a 50L and 6'2") and left no room for a sweater/t-neck, etc. Likewise the waste left no extra room and the body was short. I am usually a XXL Reg at LLBean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LongtimeLLBeaner3 Wonderful jacket!
Very nice jacket/sweater. Light weight, great quality which is typical of LLBean's products. We went on a trip and I was able to pack both jackets into a large zip lock bag! Took them out, shook them a bit and they looked great. Thank you

Rated 2 out of 5 by EmergencyGuy Way Too Small
I've always been very pleased with L.L. Bean's sizing, but this sweater misses the mark. I ordered a 2XL-Tall (the size I always order) and I can't even zip it. The sweater was tight through the shoulders too and far shorter than I'd expect from a tall. Overall, it fits more like an XL regular length would. Very disappointing because it looks like it would be a nice sweater, but not if I can't wear it.

Hard to believe anything so light could provide such warmth. Good style and great pockets, too.

I purchased this item about 2 weeks ago. While I can't speak to it's durability, it is very comfortable and light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MaineToNewYork High quality, great packability, imperfect sizing
I purchased this jacket in advance of a trip where I intended to travel with a just a carry-on as, simply put, I wanted packable warmth.
In terms of build quality, you're looking at classic LLBean - everything is sewn together perfectly, and it will clearly last a while. Moreover, the jacket's material is silky yet not overly shiny or crinkly - a common downfall of jackets from other manufacturers.
Packability is also fantastic on this product. I didn't even pack it into the stuffsack before I returned it (more on that later), but you can just tell that it will compress down to nearly nothing. And, more importantly, it will do so while still providing very good warmth. I tried this on next to a competitor's product (as well as the PrimaLoft version of this jacket) and it was incredible how much more confident I felt, warmth-wise, with this jacket.
Unfortunately, I did end up returning this jacket due to fit. I ordered a large, and for context, I am over six feet, around 190lbs, with very long arms. Unfortunately, the sleeves on the jacket were around 0.5-1'' short of my minimum tolerable length (I often compromise as it is hard to find something that will fit both my torso and arms properly due to skinny arms but not completely flat stomach). I got the impression that when moving, my wrists and potentially waist would be easily exposed. I considered swapping for the medium tall, but they are sold out for now.
Long story short - this is a superb jacket that is well worth the money, as long as the fit works for you. Luckily, LLBean has free shipping and cheap return options. Check it out, and if you don't like it, don't sweat it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by DoctorWoo love this jacket
I originally bought a StormChaser jacket and returned it, as it was too bulky. This, on the other hand, is on the complete other end of the spectrum.
It's super, super light (by far the lightest jacket I've ever owned), warm, soft, comfortable, and looks great. Just enough pockets in the right places. And the fit is perfect - I'm 6'0" and 170lbs and got a Medium Tall, and it fits like it was tailor made.
I got this for the weather in the SF Bay Area - chilly nights and mornings, warm days, and potentially foggy weather even in the summer. So far it's been great in low 50's and should be good for upper 40's as well. I plan to wear it in Tahoe. And when it gets too warm, I can stuff it into it's own pocket and throw it in the backpack.
I've only had it a few days but so far so good - definitely not cheap, but so far the best jacket I've ever owned!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spotdog14 Surprisingly Warm
I originally purchased this for backpacking as a layer between a hard shell waterproof outer layer and whatever I choose to wear under it. As it turns out I don't really need an outer layer unless its raining or super windy. I am amazed at how warm this thing is for being so light and compact. I love the fact that it can fold into its own pocket.
On a side note, the 'shadow' color is more white than silver.
