I order a lot from LL Bean, and this is the first time I've been disappointed. I bought these socks to go under tall leather boots. By Nov. none were left in my size, but I found a pair at the store. The store was kind enough to send one, but stitching at the top seemed frayed in handling. I was concerned it would pull apart in the laundry. When the backordered pair arrived, the loop stitch at the top was better, but still loose. The material seems more like string than a reliable, cotton sox thread. Kudos for customer service, but quality of this item..not so much.

We ALWAYS order XL (Men's AND Women's styles). I wear a (Women's) Size 7 shoe and hubby wears a (Men's) Size 10, and we have learned to ALWAYS order an XL in both Men's and Women's (Cotton AND/OR Wool styles). They ALL seem to shrink (especially the WOOL!). Also, the cotton knee high boot socks in Women's seem a tad thin, but I love the height and feel, SO...just ordered them in the Red as well!

I bought these socks to wear with my Bean Boots, but I wasn't very impressed. Although they are warm and comfortable, about a week after wearing them with my Bean Boots, the heels of the socks wore thin and now I get blisters on the back of my heels when I wear them with the boots. I would have sent them back except I only paid $10 for them (I had $10 off coupon). Now I just wear them with my house shoes. So if you're buying them to wear with your Bean Boots, you might want to consider another pair of socks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChrisAndMilena They always go missing . . .
I been wearing these since my catalog days with LL Bean. My wife could not find her slippers so I told her to wear my socks until she found them. Shortly afterward, my socks kept going missing until I bought her a pair of her own.
They have a great old school wool sock feel and warm. It takes me a couple of years of continuous wear before they start to sag. Cold wash with mild soap and hang drying gives them that good wool sweater feel and makes them last longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by funseeker Knee high ragg socks
I purchased these socks in the grey color. I like the color and the fit was accurate (note: I wear a size 8 and a size medium was recommended). Despite this, I must admit that I am a little disappointed with the socks and would not recommend them. I just don't see these lasting for any length of time. They are a lot thinner than I expected and the top of the socks already seem slightly frayed/loose. There seems to be a lot more spandex in these than cotton. At this point, I will keep them unless they fall apart in the wash...which seems pretty likely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Queens302 Love these socks....
These socks are very cozy and comfortable that not only launder well, but manage to stay up when wearing with my clogs. I take a size 8 and ordered the medium which turned out to be the right choice. However, I didn't give them five stars b/c the actual colour was closer to a Light Blue than the listed colour of Lavender which was very disappointing. Also, for the price it was annoying to find an unraveling of the yarn around the top part of one sock which I had to mend. Notwithstanding these two minor complaints, I would definitely buy them again.

I love these socks!. They are warm, comfortable and stretchy, and they keep their shape after multiple washings. The socks are soft but do not lose their fluff in the dryer like so many do. I'm glad there were two to a pack even though I might purchase them again for more! I bought size Medium and my foot is 7.5 x-wide-great fit.

I purchased these to go along with my LLBean boots I just bought. They are the MOST comfortable, warm socks ever. They are 10" tall and keep you warm and snuggly. Great material and well made. I wear size 9-10 shoes so I ordered a Large. Fits perfect. A must order.

These socks are very soft and comfy, and I think they will serve me well during the coming Texas winter.
They are not 100% cotton. The actual content for both the navy and cream is 84% cotton, 12% polyester, 3% nylon, and 1% spandex. This doesn't bother me, just thought the info might serve other customers.
Please be aware:
The online size chart reads that size small fits Women's US shoe size 5-7. When I received them today, the package says small fits shoe size 4-6.
Needless to say, I am exchanging them for a medium because they were just a little too small when I tried them on. (I wear 6-1/2.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by NaturalFiberPerson If you want natural fiber socks, these aren't it..
This review is for Cotton Rag Camp Socks. I skimmed the description and read "all-cotton". If I had read more slowly, I would have seen that these socks are said to be "better than all-cotton". They have polyester (12-24%, depending upon color) and nylon, which are deal breakers for me. I will be more careful next time. This time, I'm sending them back.
