Rated 5 out of 5 by adhayes84 Gray is Tweed
?I bought these in size Medium, Gray. The gray actually looks like a tweed mixture of black and ivory in person. I love it because that's what I wanted. If you want the actually gray color, then these are not for you. I wear a 7 Medium in the Gore-Tex/Thinsulate Bean Boots. I'm 5'1, and these socks are very long on my legs, so I fold them over. It provides extra warmth. The cotton is soft and they don't slide down or dig into my legs like some other brands. My feet are warm and I happy with the socks.

I'm a sock fiend. These are awesome - soft and thick without being ridiculously so. The navy is so dark, it could pass for black. Length is mid-calf.

Rated 3 out of 5 by harpergirl Mixed feelings about these
I could only give these socks three stars. I wear a size 7 - 7.5 shoe, so I ordered a pair of medium. They fit my feet great, but were tight on my (fairly thin) calves. I kept them and ordered another pair, in large. Those also fit my feet great (I don't mind the little bit of "extra" sock on my feet...but they are STILL very tight on my (fairly thin) calves. Maybe other people would find them comfortable, but I tend to wear them "folded down," so they are "half-knee-high." They are still extremely tight...and my angles are BONY...no spare flesh there...They do keep my legs warm in jeans as winter is approaching. However, it looks like my big toe is about to come through the toe...and that was after the first wearing. I washed them, hung them dry, and wore them again. I just can't figure out if they are going to get a hole quickly or not. I have every confidence in LL Bean though. My money has not been wasted if the holes develop. I just wish they were more roomy on my legs!

Rated 1 out of 5 by camcat not all cotton
I am very disappointed in these socks. They are referred to as cotton socks but the yarn is a blend. The item description does not list the actual yarn content and these socks have lycra/spandex in them. If they are a mixed fiber yarn you should list the fibers and not promote them as all cotton. I am not able to wear lycra/spandex and would not have bought them if I had known they were a blend.

Cotton socks are just what I wanted. Ordered large and have no issues with them falling down. They are soft, but not overly so. No pilling or any issues washing them so far. Use them for coverage when doing yard work (no ticks for me!) and plan on wearing them with bean boots in winter. Like them better than wool because they are more breathable, but still warm (and wool seems to have every little thing stick to them).

Rated 2 out of 5 by ehe4 Very disappointed
I was so excited to wear these with my bean boots, but the first time I wore them a hole appeared only after a few hours of wear!! I bought these socks after an employee at the flagship store highly recommend them and I wish I hadn't spent the money on them. They felt extremely cheap and thin. Very disappointed in this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by mjkbaar Great socks - perfect for Bean Boots
I bought these socks to wear with my Bean Boots. They are amazing quality (as always) and go great with my navy as well as my brown 8 inch Bean Boots. I look forward to them keeping my feet nice and warm all winter!

These are the perfect Ragg Wool socks to wear with my Birkenstocks in the fall. And to keep my toes warm in my winter boots. The quality is great and the colors are awesome.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ashevillian Manufacturing needs some improvement
I ordered the wine knee-high cotton socks in a size M, I normally wear no bigger than a W7. These fit fine and have plenty of stretch to accommodate my larger than normal calves.
The socks are lighter weight than I expected and arrived NEW with threads unraveling at the top of the cuff.
Normally I would return the item, but I've got a pair of over-sized duck-mocs I need to warm up STAT so...if there were any other ragg socks left in my state I'd be going that route.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cdac great disapointment
I have ordered ragg socks many times and these are by far the worst I've had. I chose them for warmth and durability. Fail. They feel very cheap, are not warm and they do not stay up. If I'd wanted slouch socks I would have ordered them. Will absolutely not recommend or buy again. Saddest part is I bought some for a Christmas gift too.
