Rated 5 out of 5 by RepairTheEarth Wonderful, warm, lightweight, it's perfect!;-)
I bought the very bright cherry red down sweater last year, and it's everything I could want, including zipper pockets, and not made in China (from which I don't buy anything I can avoid for many reasons). A Medium Regular fit me perfectly, close to the body but not too tight, and a flattering cut and fit. I'm 5'3" barefoot, weigh 138-140 lbs, am around 5"4 in. in shoes/boots, and the length is also excellent--not too short. This is my first down sweater, and it's incredibly versatile--in warmer weather wear it as a sweater over a cami and t-shirt; in cold weather layer it over a cami and shirt and under a heavier down jacket (also from LLBean), and it's wonderfully insulating and warm; take off the outer jacket indoors and wear the sweater (zipped or unzipped) depending on how cool it is indoors. I tend to be cold, and this sweater is perfect. I've also received many compliments when wearing it, including its color, which I also am very happy with. And it takes up almost no room when packed. Thank you again LLBean!

In looking for an all around lightweight, yet warm jacket for home and travel, this seemed the perfect answer. It fits well, is attractive and comfortable. Best of all travels well and can be worn under a gore tex jacket for layered warmth. Thanks, LLBean for another winner!

Rated 1 out of 5 VERY DISAPPOINTED
The first sweater was returned because of bluish or purplish stains or spots on the fabric. The second sweater arrived with the same issues. Both were returned. The LLB reps and custom service people I spoke with were very polite and apologetic. For $189.00, I expected a BEAN product to be absolutely perfect. Sadly this was not the case. Needless to say, I did not order a third sweater. I'm very disappoinrted in the quality of this product. If it were offered on the clearance or marked down rack at a fraction of the cost it would merit a look. Offered as first quailty makes me pause and wonder. Why settle for less then best for $189.00!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KinConnecticut This is a great item!
I was really anticipating receiving this down "sweater". It has not disappointed. I ordered the Night color, it's a beautiful blue, very close to the color shown. It does have a little shine on it as well. There is a small white LL Bean label on the front left hip which does not thrill me, but a blue Sharpie did the trick!
I am normally a large, so I ordered an XL. Past experience has shown me that these are a bit more fitted than normal jackets. Just as expected...I can layer underneath - even with fleece - and it's perfect. VERY lightweight and warm. Cuts the wind. I wear it as a jacket if it's in the teens and above, and underneath my parka when I'm skiing in the lower temps with wind. It's the best! (If only I could have something like this on my legs and feet.) So glad I made this purchase. And my husband says it looks great on me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by toolgirl40 Finally a color other than a jewel tone!
I bought the Primaloft packaway hooded jacket several months ago (black) and haven't been able to take it off. I wanted the hoodless version but couldn't justify buying the exact same coat minus a hood in the same color. So, I saw this color (avocado with coral contrast) and have been coveting it. I finally decided to bite the bullet and get it - and it happened to be on sale, so I seized the opportunity. There was a snafu with the website and I could only purchase the one that had previously been in my cart (an XL) - the avocado was not showing up as a color choice at all, at any price. (I had originally ordered an XL in the other jacket but sized down and it's a much better fit - and warmer now that it fits properly.) When it arrived, it was too large, as feared, but it seems like it will be large overall even after sizing down - plus it's bulkier. I am going to try it and see what happens, but part of what I love about the other jacket is that it's so warm without that bulk. But I just couldn't say no to this color.

I sent this to a friend in Colorado. She adores the jacket. She is very tiny and the XXS fit her perfectly. I also bought this for a mlae friend and my gifts have been huge hits. I would recommend buying this for anyone.

Normally I'm a fan of Bean outdoor wear. I have a number of down parkas, jackets and vests, mostly from Bean. I thought this "sweater" version might be a handy item for days when a vest isn't quite enough and a jacket is too much. Was I ever wrong. My first test was a 1,5-mile-long dog walk on a sunny, 50 degree day, with some stiff winds #maybe 15 mph#. I wore the down sweater over a cotton turtleneck, with a sleeveless silk camisole underneath. As long as the air was still, I was OK. Once the wind kicked in, my shoulders froze. Then I thought this down sweater might serve as a handy garment to wear indoors when I'm inactive. We keep the thermostat at 65. Once again, too chilly. I replaced the down sweater with a medium-weight wool sweater and was warm and toasty. I should add that I have an active lifestyle and stand up to cold better than heat. I rarely return any purchases, but I returned this. I get the feeling the manufacturer is sacrificing function for fashion. Yeah, it looks good. But why pay for down if it doesn't keep you warm in relatively mild conditions? No way this would be useful in the advertised temperatures.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JotLA WAY TOO BIG - Please make Petite XXS sizes!
I would have kept this jacket if it fit, but sadly it was way too big in the PXS, and that's the smallest LLBean makes. I used to fit petite extra small sizes 5 years ago, but now LL Bean and other companies are increasing their sizes. This jacket seemed 1.5 sizes too small for me (in PXXS, it may have still been a little boxy). LLBean, please make PXXS sizes, and please make your clothes fitted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maori Lightweight & warm
I was traveling to NZ last February and wanted a lightweight yet warm jacket. This was perfect. Once leaving New England I could stuff it into itself and store in my carry-on. Today I wear it under my motorcycle jacket because there is no bulk in the shoulders or arms. If your looking to layer this sweater is ideal. I'm tight on a budget and really scrutinize before I buy. This is an investment. Thank you.
