I love everything about this coat/jacket! It is functional for Ohio weather. Rain, cold, extra cold it is covered with this jacket. Also has convenient well placed pockets. My only complaint is the Velcro straps around the wrist came apart and aren't doing their job. I am sending the jacket back with no apprehension. LLBean always takes care of products gone bad, that is why I am a loyal customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1RuggedMaineGirl Quality product, great fit
I purchased this jacket for snowshoeing, beach walking and just being outside and active in Maine in the winter. You can feel the quality of the materials, the jacket is nice and heavy duty and the liner is warm and soft. I am 5'3" and a *solid* 160 lbs (I'd say stocky but fit) and the Petite Medium is a GREAT fit. I'd call it a "sporty" fit, the jacket falls at my hipbones in front and well covers the back. I've got plenty of room for movement without any bulk. I'm absolutely thrilled with the quality and fit of this product.

The older model of this jacket I liked much better. It had 4 pockets on the front: 2 patch pockets and 2 slit pockets. I would recommend this style to a friend only because the other style is no longer available.

This coat is very nice and when most see it they wonder if it keeps me warm and it does with the 3-1 layers. My only problem is the zipper it gets stuck often or appears to be stripped. Overall it is a great coat!

This jacket is thin , but really useful warm jacket.
I got it for ski jacket, but before skiing,I used for snow shoveling and some more.
Somebody said ,this is not warm, but I never felt so.
When you start to move ,you feel really warm.
For ski,I could keep warm,but I didn't get sweaty,its awesome.
Only I have a little problem , I felt the front zipper's area is a little hard. Every time I drive a car ,I felt uncomfortable under my chin ,so I have to open the zipper until my chest.
And When I used for ski, I hope I have one more pocket inside jacket.

The inner coat is stylish and warm by itself. The coat is a little stiff at first but it blocks the wind and rain very well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mylittleyellowbird Really, really unfortunate zipper choice
I bought this coat but ended up returning it. There were many features that attracted me to this coat initially (the soft fabrics, the versatility, the LL Bean reputation for quality, and the non-color-blocked design), but in the end, there was one huge deal breaker and that was the zipper. First, it bows outward, creating a very unflattering silhouette from the side. Secondly, the zipper pull is small and hard to engage. But the very worst part of this zipper becomes readily apparent if you try to sit down with the zipper fully zipped: it becomes rigid----like sitting with a metal rod attached to the front of the coat. I own other coats by LL Bean that have 2-way zippers that are easy to engage, don't bow outward, and do allow for comfortable sitting because the zipper can be pulled upward from the bottom to accommodate the wearer's seated position. Unfortunately, this coat has a zipper that was a very poor design choice and turned out to be a total deal breaker for me. So disappointing!

Well, in 2015 I expect two big things out of outerwear. First and foremost that it protects against the weather. Second, that it be tailored for a woman's body. This jacket seems like it would have definitely lived up to number one, but it was so boxy. With the advancements in wearable technology this should not be the case. There was plenty of room for the sides to be brought in a little. For the shape of the garment, I returned the product.

Rated 3 out of 5 Disappointed
This is a nice jacket, but there is NO WAY it should be rated "warmest to -30F." My region has had a relatively mild winter so far with temps in the 30s/40s, and it was obvious the first day out it would not keep me warm in serious winter weather. After reading other reviews, I had high hopes that others who complained about the temperature rating would be wrong, and that I would be getting a jacket that lived up to company description. I was really, really disappointed. I've not had the opportunity to try out the water proofing yet. So far I think I'd like to keep the jacket because of it's relative versatility and low bulk. Unfortunately, I'll be looking for a warmer winter coat.

Nice and light and fits well. I especially like how little it weighs.
