Rated 4 out of 5 by twozookeepers Really nice winter coat
I bought the men's version of this jacket for my husband as a gift and after having jacket envy for one year (it is a little spendy, so I was trying to hold out), finally caved and bought one for myself. The jacket is super light weight, versatile, and well worth the money! The only reason I rated it 4 stars is because the sleeves of the Primaloft liner are a little bit short. If I am just wearing the liner and reach out to grab something, my wrist is exposed (this seems to be the case with the men's jacket, too).

Rated 5 out of 5 by DayHiker717 Great attention to detail
I bought this 3 in 1 jacket several weeks ago. I'm very pleased with the quality and details on both of these jackets. I wore the liner jacket alone yesterday on a short hike. The weather was chilly (low 40s but felt like 30) and windy. The jacket kept me warm and I love that it is not bulky and it's soft and quiet! On top of the ridge it was blustery; I zipped it up to my neck and liked that it has a tab over the top of the zipper so my chin wasn't rubbing on a cold zipper! The rain jacket has the same thing. I'm 5'8" and the sleeves are a good length which is sometimes difficult for me to find. I bought this in a large, I'm busty and usually size up so that tops won't fit snug, it is very room (roomy enough to wear a hooded sweatshirt underneath) and I certainly could have gotten a Medium. I don't expect that alone the liner would keep me warm on a harsh February day. But if I layer well and add the rain jacket it will work great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kmtop88 Great all around winter jacket.
This replaced an old LLBean jacket that was getting super beat up after a few years. I love how warm this jacket is in the winter and how the shell is an excellent rain jacket. I would highly recommend going a size down. I'm 5/3 140lbs and got a small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CTMomOf2Boys Great rain jacket
Warm raincoat for chilly New England weather. Not fitted so can wear a layer underneath without getting too tight around the waist. Hood covers whole head with a brim that keeps the rain drops off your face too. Exactly what I needed at a great price. Should be great for snowy weather as well but have yet to see snow in CT since buying the jacket.

This was everything I expected and more. It is very, very warm and the rain coat part with the hood is great. I bought the red which is lovely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by wannacycleallday Follow up to my recent review "very disappointed"
Since writing my "very disappointed" review I have since exchanged the Medium in this jacket for a small. I am now rating this rain jacket between a 3 and 4. The outer shell in small fits me better than the medium but I am amazed that the arms are still too long and wide, and the wrist openings are also ridiculously wide.for a small size. Sure you can adjust the fit with the velcro straps but every time you take off the jacket you have to open the straps and then reattach them on the way out. If you're in and out a lot, it gets to be a pain. For $200, LL Bean could have provided a more customized wrist fit that truly would have reflected the overall sizing. (They did this with the inner jacket which fits well). I will probably keep this garment despite my complaints because the performance of that outer shell is excellent. I have worn it in windy, rainy weather in 65-70 degree November NYC temps and it truly keeps out the wind and keeps me dry. The hood JUST fits with a small amount of room to accommodate a backlava or thermo tek cap in colder weather. Again, I am 5'6". If you're taller, the hood may be constricting .I'll also use the outer shell for cycling in all seasons except summer. I wore the inner jacket alone with a base layer when it was clear and 45-50 degrees. (just for walking) So the garment is versatile, albeit a bit ill-fitting. Who cares when it's raining. P,S. I returned the storm chaser 3-in-1 jacket. Way too bulky and big in medium and not as water proofed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MKactive everything jacket
this is great for many sporting activities or just around town light weight comfortable, lots of pockets so don't need a bag when using it during athletic events. great 3 in 1 jacket for all around use. fits great for a women's figure. If you only could afford one jacket this is it.. great for wet windy and cold conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by reeverbmusic Warm, comfortable, waterproof & good fit
I have been looking at buying this specific jacket for the last 3 years, I never purchased it as I thought the price was too high. However, I went to an LL Bean outlet store & was able to see, feel & try the jacket on for myself. I was convinced that this was the jacket for me. The quality of the workmanship, the material & the fit won out over the price. I have had other jackets that said they were "waterproof" but feel short, with this jacket, after 1/2 hr. in the "rain" I was still dry. Another reason I was glad I was able to try it on is the sizes of LL Bean jackets run different. Where I would have bought a small on line I really needed an extra-small, just to let you know of the size difference. I will highly recommend this jacket to friends

Rated 5 out of 5 by schillman Rain gear
I purchased this to wear as rain gear on my motorcycle. It is definitely waterproof, but also wind proof. This has made the shell a lightweight, comfy additional layer on cooler riding days. The liner (removable as a wear-alone option) means I can wear it for rain gear without layering it over my motorcycle jacket for less bulk. It also packs well. Runs true to size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mainergirl79 I really wanted to like this jacket
I originally ordered a large to accommodate sweaters and such in the winter, it was a really weird fit so I easily ordered the medium. Unfortunately there have been several malfunctions with the jacket. The first week I had the jacket the pocket ripped and I lost cash that I had placed in the pocket. Not to long after that, in the middle of a cold Maine winter, the outer zipper broke. It constantly comes apart and is next to impossible to get off. I had to have my husband unzip my jacket when I got home this evening. Super frustrated to be stuck somewhere with my jack coming apart and not be able to rectify the situation on my own. I can't say that I want to replace it with another because I don't think it will be any different.
