by MinnesotaJetsFan Great Boot, poor design
My wife purchased these boots for me for our anniversary and since we live in Minnesota, warm, dry boots are a necessity. I saw these online and cited how they looked great, but was a little leary of the feedback from others citing eyelets popping off. Well, first time I tried on the boots to wear them outside, what do you know...one of the eyelets popped off! It's not like the eyelets have some sort of "curved" design in the eyelet that keeps it locked into the boot. It appears like two pegs that simply push into the boot. They pull out rather easily. I am disappointed because I was really looking forward to using these boots this winter...they are super comfortable, look great and I know would be warm and effective. Thank God that LL Bean has the BEST customer service of any retailer nationally, and I know they will make me whole on these boots! LL Bean has great products and customer service, but these boots need to go back into "redesign" to fix this fundamental product flaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by warmer2015 no cold toes!
1st pair of winter boots so I am expecting no cold toes. So far these boots do just that. I have wide feet and the fit is slighter wider, but okay.
Going to recommend to my brother.

bought these size 81/2 medium in December and have used them nearly every day for short hikes. Very comfortable, good support, good traction in snow, waterproof as far as I can tell after walking thru slush and water on several hikes . Recent freezing rain and colt temps have made trails hazardous so paired them with LLB STABLEicers lite. Fantastic!!!
Looking forward hopefully to years of service. Have not had any issues with lacing hooks mentioned in some older reviews

3-5 miles a day. That's to drain his energy and keep my ticker working well. These boots have done the trick. The cold wet weather are much less a concern. Couple these boots with my LLBean goose lined parka and I'm happy, my dog is happy and my feet are now happy.

Wildcat boots provide comfort, warmth and don't slip creating an excellent boot for winter use. I highly recommend them to anyone that spends lengthy time out doors in cold and snow.

Replacement for older pair of Wildcats. Last pair held up for 10 plus years. Had no issue with warranty replacement service. Actually had to exchange twice. First pair came in size 12, same size as my old pair. It ran a little small. After calling warranty service, they rush shipped me a size 13 so I would not be without boots. New pair has been used twice in heavy snow and below 20 degrees. Feet stayed dry and warm.
Bought the same boots (women's model) for my fiancee this year, she is also very happy with them.

Ordered these to replace a 10 year old pair of similar Bean boots from an earlier era that had served me well. These boots fit well, are lighter than the previous pair, and kept my feet warm and dry over a 2 mile hike in ankle deep snow and 20 F temperatures and a stiff breeze.
As others have mentioned, the boots are a bit stiff, but provide good support and the stiffness is not uncomfortable or distracting on a hike. I haven't worn them enough to know if they will become more flexible with time (I suspect they may loosen up a bit).

Got tired of cold and wet feet with other supposedly insulated and water proof or resistant boots. I bought the Wildcat Lace-Ups and am very pleased with them. Thus far we've had 2 substantial snowfalls which left a slushy few inches on the ground. Walking through it was no problem. These boots definitely live up to expectations.

The pros boots are waterproof and easy to get on & off, they are easy to walk in.
The cons the 400 gr insulation is all in the ankle area none in the toe. This makes the boot very wide, hard to get your jeans over them in some cases.
The toe is a hard fiber material with no insulation in the toe. This material gets cold and my toes get cold in 15' weather even with continuous walking and heavy socks.
Not a -20' boot, I find most of these temp ratings are a little optimistic anyway.
