Rated 3 out of 5 by electrafryin A great winter boot
1> My heel slips on both sides.>My right top bridge is so loose my foot rocks left to right>The toes turn upward and will bother me in the ball of my feet.>
Don't get me wrong..This is a beautiful shoe,if it fits. >I tried to get used to it but it just kept getting worse >.I used LL Bean boot socks to see if it would help.
I wish there was a local store to try on these boots because they will last you a lifetime.
Sending back,with sadness.

I'm 61 and for the first time in my life I can go out in some pretty cold weather and my feet stay warm. I bought these about 2 years ago and I couldn't be happier. I'm an avid metal detectorist and spend hours out metal detecting. These shoes always keep my feet warm when others are fleeing inside. Can't say enough about them.

I read the reviews with some buyers noting their heel slips up and down while walking in the shoe, but decided to go ahead and give them a try hoping the manufacturer had improved the fit. To my disappointment it still holds true even when I put on thick socks. The size 10.5 was an exact fit but the heel problem spoiled an otherwise well made and good looking product. Will be sending them back and continue to use my tried but true L.L. Bean Gumshoe Boot (substituted the original laces with elastic ones making it easy to slip on and off).

I am a dyed-in-the-wool L.L. Bean customer. But, on this occasion, I have to give a definitive thumbs down.
The sizes run quite small, and I had to return my original 10.5 order for an 11, which barely fit for length. And an 11 not being long enough has never happened to me before. But, more to the point (both figuratively and literally), I have narrow feet, and take a medium (M) width whenever possible. D has always been listed as wide, so I was surprised to see D described as a medium width. Still, I thought it wouldn't be too sloppy. To my surprise, the shoes were almost painfully tight in the toes, squeezing them together, yet disproportionately too wide - preposterously so- at the heel. They feel like a clunky, heavy pair of flip flops. That pinch.
The only reason I didn't fill in the fit portion of the review (narrow or wide fitting) was that, somehow, they were both. (?)
I am curious about their waterproof dress shoe, but based on this experience, I am extremely hesitant to order them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by clint1977 Nice pair storm chasers
first let start by saying I always read reviews before I buy anything, I read the reviews about the storm chasers fitting too tight and some with running big and heel slipping out, so I was confused after all the reviews, if there was a problem LL Bean read the reviews and fixed the problem because they fit TRUE TO SIZE I take a 10 ordered a 10 and fit perfect with regular socks, if want to wear thick socks go up size.... hopes this helps the rest of you about to buy these shoes they are the best you can buy. Love them for the north east. Great traction and really warm when out plowing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bardaman excellent value
I love these boots. Easy to slip on and off. Completely waterproof. Conformed to my feet in no time at all. Plus I love the way they look. I would say they are my favorite shoe anytime the weather turns cool and damp. I took them with me to Ireland and they were indispensable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bruman Awesome, Storm Chasers Boots
I have had these Storm Chasers Boots now for six years and have really held up great. They are so comfortable and they keep my feet dry even with snow above the boot line. I have cleared a number of iced roofs and the boot really hold well and digs in to keep you from slipping. I hope the quality hasn?t changed because these boots are Awesome. I highly recommend these boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by trupeke Shoe leaked after approximately 1 yr
Clogs were perfect for the purpose I was using them...however, after about 1 year they being to leak moisture from early morning dews or after a rain...this completely defeats the purpose of having this type of shoe...

Rated 4 out of 5 by PlaidFan Great shoe, but not for everyone
I take a size 8 in nearly everything, but even with my thickest socks, there was too much heel movement in the size 8 slip-ons. When the 7.5's arrived, I tried on one with my thinnest hiking socks and the other with my thick ones, and definitely noticed an improvement. The thick socks make the heel fit nicely, but the toe box is too tight. My feet feel comfortable in the shoes with the thin socks, and there's only a slight wiggle in the heel. Plus, it's not like I'm using them for running - they're intended to quickly go on before taking out the trash or going to the store. I wear LL's "Men's Cresta Hiking Socks, Lightweight" with these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FrackingIsTOXIC A very versatile winter shoe
I wanted a shoe that was comfortable, warm, waterproof, and easy on and off. These fit the bill. I have worn these in various snow conditions including light powder, the mushy snowball stuff and everything in between. I'm not easy to please so I was surprised how well they performed especially in snow crusted over with a frozen wintry mix that collapses under foot, and they really shined in slushy roadside goop. They are slip-ons, so they are loose fitting by design, which makes stepping into them quick, and keeps them comfortable once you get where you are going-- a huge advantage if you are like me and don't like tight fitting hot shoes while sitting in a coffee shop. The tread is aggressive enough to maintain traction on everything but glazed ice. Some compromises include a looser fitting heel than toe box which means running in these is do-able but sprinting after a bus is out, and if you wear them in snow deeper than the the height of the shoe, you may get some over the top. The design of the pull on loop sewn onto the back could be improved somehow- NOT made larger, just more upright and a bit stiffer so it is easier to "locate" and insert a finger quickly. These shoes are a rarity, the design isn't perfect yet but it is darned close.
