Rated 5 out of 5 by Weeeen603 New Englander living in Wyoming
being from New England I have always been a fan and follower of L.L.. Bean and find it a comfort of home now living in Wyoming. There are week long periods every month during the winter that will reach -30 with a high of -0 for days at a time and the Bar Harbor boots are warriors through the weather. I have never felt cold once wearing them, I use them for snow shoeing every time I go, there great for long hikes, and with intense amount of snow we get every other day the height of the boot is fantastic for not allowing any snow to fall into them.
I recommend them for anyone who is an outdoor enthusiast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bdubs Best Boots Ever!
In November I sent my daughter to llbean with my 20+ year old, beloved Bean boots. They needed a repair of the finger loop. Instead of leaving them for repair she came home with a gift card. I went online to order a new pair only to find out that they are back ordered until way after winter is over. Living in New England I couldn't imagine how to survive all the winter dog walks, driveway cleanings, errands etc that I would have to do without my boots. I finally settled on these Bar Harbor boots as a replacement. I LOVE THEM! I love them better than my original boots! They have a snugger fit that I love and are very easy to put on. I love the height of the boot, perfect for a dog walk on an unplowed trail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bootviewer Excellent quality!
LLBean does it again! These boots are warm, comfortable and the best quality I have ever seen. I usually wear a size ten and after reading the reviews, I ordered a nine. The fit was perfect. We have had below zero temps in central Illinois and when I ran the snowblower, my feet were toasty warm. These boots are worth every penny and will last a long time. Thanks, LL Bean!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bessinfl Not for me
I liked the idea of these boots. But they are VERY stiff and hard to put on, and they also look way clunkier than they do in the photo. They might be suitable for walking in the country, but they don't suit my purposes (which is spending several months in a cold, rainy European city in the winter and spring). I'm going to have to return them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jewelsboots comfortable, sturdy boots.
These boots are great for rain, some snow, and cold weather. They are comfortable, cozy and sturdy. They run large, but I knew that from past reviews, so I bought an 8 for her, who usually wears and 8.5 or 9 in boots. She loves them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HD1215 Great boot--functional, comfortable, and very warm
These boots are great! I wear a 7.5 and ordered a size 7. When they arrived, I was impressed with how stylish they looked and more importantly, how great they fit great (both with thin socks and a thicker wool sock). At first they were a bit stiff--however, after a few days of wearing them around in the snow, they broke in just fine. Well done, LL Bean! Love the inner fleece boot liner...keeps those toes warm even in the coldest conditions. They're also totally waterproof...for those needing a functional and stylish boot for cold/wet conditions, I highly recommend these boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ArielB Great Coastal New England Winter Boot
Size/Fit: I am a women's 8.5 shoe, with a wide foot and very narrow ankle (flat footed). A size 8 with M width fit me comfortably with medium thickness socks, so if you are a 1/2 size, I would recommend ordering down. Shaft height is not quite knee-high, but higher than mid-calf (I'm 5'3 and 124lbs).
Comfort: These boots are a bit stiff at first, but I assume most leather is, so this is not a surprise. I had to wear them around a bit to loosen them up. They feel like a true winter boot (actually reminds me of my snowboard boots, but not as stiff), not like a light rain or dress boot, and the silhouette on them also appears heavier, like that of a winter boot. Some people wrote that the boot makes their legs look fat, but honestly, I think that they look fine. I'm more worried about my poofy coat doing that.
Quality: Outstanding. What you would expect from LL Bean. Treads are also very nice.
Overall: I think these are fantastic for what I need...a lightly insulated boot that works for wet, slushy, salty winters around Boston, where it averages in the 20 degree F range.

Rated 2 out of 5 by WRGIT Very difficult to walk in
I loved the color, construction was top of the line as expected from LLBean. Ordered an 8 even though I usually do 81/2 and that was fine. I just was very disappointed in the utility of the boot. The insert made the boot and consequently my leg look "fat". It bulged at my ankle. The kicker was the difficulty I had in walking around. I had them laced pretty snugly to try and make them look thinner and that resulted in an inability to walk normally. I felt like I was wearing one of those walking casts. Walking down my stairs I actually started to trip and that made my mind up....time to send em back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Illini2005 Great Boot
This boot was everything I wanted it to be. First and foremost, the quality of the boot is fantastic. Its fit was true to size. They are warm, comfortable, and seem durable. I haven't gotten to use them in snow yet, just rain, but they've kept my feet warm and dry. I've very pleased with this product.
