Rated 5 out of 5 by milton02 pass crossing guard test!!!!!!!!!!!
cant say enough about these boots after being outside as a crossing guard in upstate New York ( where we got 6 feet of snow in one day) Ihave tried just about every boot out there on the market these surpass by a LONG SHOT ALL your brand name boots . They are the warmest most comfortable I have ever bought and yes they pass the flexible test I not only cross children I jump in and out of traffic to direct trucks , buses, and evryday drivers in and around my intersection which I might add these boots get 5 stars for traction on snow and ice . I have stood outside in temps as low as -17 and thats not the wind chill its the air temp and my feet have stayed warm . I wear a LLBEAN Ragg sock and these boots do not feel tight at all , they are true to size. Wish I had found them 15 years ago would have saved a ton a money on several styles of boots that DIDNT live up to their expectations !!!!!!!!! VERY SATISFIED IN NEW YORK

Rated 5 out of 5 by GauchoheartBearblood Warm winter boot perfect for cold and snow
This winter I needed a new pair of snow boots.
I am new to LL Bean after having discovered some high quality clothes and gear online about a year ago. I live in CA and don't need heavy snow boots for a daily shoe. Just when we go to the mountains in the winter. A few months ago I purchased the Bean Boot for the approaching El Nino. The Bean Boots are wonderful (after having learned to order 1 size down) and they keep my feet warm and dry (in rain). I did not think my unlined Bean Boot would keep my feet warm enough in the snow even with 2 pairs of socks.
I tried on a number of different styles of snow boots. And the best fit I could find was this Pro Wildcat Boot. I normally wear an 8/8.5 wide in running shoes. In the Bean Boots I need a size 7 wide. I ordered a size 8 regular in the Pro Wildcat Boot and it fit perfect. This boot is wide, there is extra room for my toes and I can wear it with 2 pairs of socks if needed. Although I don't think I will ever need to wear it with two pairs of socks since the boot themselves are insulated. The boot is tall and sturdy, constructed very well. They are waterproof and the tread on the bottom is great.
I did not find the boots stiff at all and I have athletic calves. I did take time to slowly break them in and I wear a thick ski sock with this boot. I like that the boot is extra tall because it helps keep the snow out.
As I stated above, I don't need snow boots on a daily basis, however, these are so comfortable that I could wear them everyday. They feel like tennis shoes and are lightweight.
The best part about keeping my Pro Wildcat Boots is that Bean stands behind their products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sammie80 Wicked Awesome Boots
I was looking for a good quality pair of boots that were both warm and comfortable. After reading the description about these boots and reading the reviews I decided to give them a try. When they arrived I was impressed by the color, true to the picture. When I picked the boots up to try them on I was surprised by how light they were. I have put these boots to the test and let me tell you, these are WARM. I wore these boots with one pair of my everyday cotton socks while snowmobiling around my property with temperatures around -15 F and not once did my feet get cold. SUPER Warm. I also wore them hiking out in the woods for about 90 minutes with just my regular socks and temps in the 30s. Again, SUPER WARM. Overall these boots are well made, comfortable, and keep my feet warm. The higher shaft is great too when out in deep snow. AWESOME BOOTS, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

While the fit of these boots were great and they were toasty warm, I found that they were not comfortable for even a modest level of activity. After an hour of sled riding with the kids, my shins were in pain. When I came in, I had dents in my shins similar to a hard day on the slopes in ski boots. I have worn LL Bean boots for decades, but this pair went back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by karakalpak Terribly stiff
First, the good: These are extremely waterproof, solid construction, good arch support, roomy toes, and a nice tread to avoid slipping on ice.
BUT...I found that the boots were so stiff they really hurt my shins as I was walking. After wearing these for about 3 miles, I came away with painful bruises that have lasted for days. I'll be returning them, which is a shame because in all other aspects they were great.

I bought these just in time for a recent snowstorm, so I've had a chance to take them for a spin. It was worth it to splurge on something of high quality. I'm a true size 8 with wide feet, and I wear orthotics. These boots are super comfortable with any socks for me. They are warm and they look solid without being too clunky. I've gotten compliments. Love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SkeeterB Great boots from fit to function.
I have a narrow 71/2 foot size. Size 7 is an excellent fit with a medium weight sock. Boots are light weight, comfortable, and easy to clean. Highly recommend.

I paint landscapes outdoors in lots of different weather conditions and these boots have proved comfortable enough to hike in while carrying equipment and kept my feet warm and dry while painting for several hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bruinlover Well-made, lightweight, and warm
I love the look and feel of this boot. I ordered the Size 8, based on reviews of others, although I usually wear a 9. The lining is plush and the boot gives good support. My issue is with the width. I am usually a medium width, but with a medium weight sock, the boot was too snug in the forefoot. I wore them around the house a bit to see if they would pack down a little, but they did not. I decided to bring them to my closest LLBean store so I could try a 9(since there are no 1/2 sizes), but there were none in stock. I tried on the Storm Chaser boot in size 9 and found them a perfect fit! Plenty of room in the forefoot with wiggle room for my toes. They also have a very comfortable foot bed/liner. We have not had much snow this winter in MA, but I am looking forward to trying them out! I was told that they will work with snow shoes, if that is what you have in mind. I'm disappointed that the Wildcat Pro didn't work for me, but glad that I found a replacement in the Storm Chaser. They look cute wearing them with jeans rolled up(I have the women's Performance Jeans, which I LOVE!) Thanks, LLBean, for your great products and excellent customer service!

Rated 3 out of 5 by astvd I reluctantly had to return them
I was very excited to buy these boots as I have trouble keeping my toes warm and these promised good warmth. The reviews were excellent and spoke of how comfortable the boots were "out of the box." Sadly, that was not my experience. I very much wanted to love them and I tried hard to break them in, but after over a week of use, they remained too stiff for me to wear and created bruises on my shins and ankles. I reluctantly returned them to the store. The LL Bean customer service was excellent and the shoe salesman helped me select a different style boot that was less stiff. I don't doubt that these are excellent boots, but they were not for my feet and legs.
