Rated 5 out of 5 by Squeekebat Love this Jacket!!!
I got this jacket a few weeks ago and it has been great for the fluctuating Texas temperatures. It does look olive green in some types of light and then in others it looks brown. I usually wear a Large in the tunic length tees and XL in the jackets. I got an XL in this one and it is roomy enough for a thick sweater. The quality is really good and I look forward to wearing this coat a long time. Thank you!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by ohiohunter too many things too small
Jacket appears to be well made. However, it seems to run 1 size small (at least the XXL is). Also, the 4 non-cargo pockets are almost worthless. Way to small to hold anything, and if used for small things like change, it will just fall out because there is no depth to the pockets.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NoBoCo Wellmade coat, Misleading color and size
Every construction detail of this coat is spot-on perfect but, as one reviewer has already stated, it's a murky olive-green color. I still would have kept it except for the size. The arms are long and the shoulders tight. Being a size 12, I ordered a large which I'm unable to zip. My husband, 5'7" and 140 lbs, tried it on and it fits perfectly. In reading reviews on the jackets being sold this season, sizing seems to be a recurring complaint. I'd repectfully suggest LLBean reassess their sizing charts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Southernhorsegal Good, but not what I expected
This coat is the perfect amount of warm for cold, wet winter days and the arms weren't super long as I expected from other reviews. However, the material was more like khaki and less like waxed cotton and the color was not at all like the picture. Again, it was more of a tan color-- nothing like the green/brown in the picture. Maybe if I oil the coat, it will get darker, but it doesn't need it yet. Overall, good but not what I expected.

Excellent quality and does the job. You should carry it year round.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mew12 Haven't taken it off since!
I wanted a jacket like this that wasn't too bulky or "work" like and this is perfect. I have worn it on a 50 degree day and a 30 degree day (with a sweater underneath) and it is perfect. Not too bulky to keep on inside either. I was worried about it being too waxy looking but it isn't! Flannel is only on top half but is very soft. I've gotten a ton of compliments but I haven't tested out in inclement weather yet.
I am 5'2 and 128 and I went with the extra small. You have to roll the sleeves up but they have buttons for that! Great with leggings and boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ArtCatNightOwl So glad I ordered this jacket!
I agree with the other reviewer that $200 is a steal for this jacket. I got it today and love, love, love it. It fits like my other LLB field jackets, I'm generally an XL or PXL in LL Bean shirts and jackets. It is definitely brown, though a slightly different shade of brown than the corduroy trim, and I like that ...looks similar to a leather jacket without the heaviness. Great with pants tucked into boots and cashmere turtleneck, scarves. I will wear this one for years. Classic. Thank you LL Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by anysuchname Inaccurate description - lined with Thinsulate
I purchased this coat thinking it would be a light to mid-weight jacket - waxed cotton and flannel lined as in the description. When it arrived, I was surprised to find a tag hanging from it: it's lined with Thinsulate! This isn't a bad thing, it just makes it more of a mid to heavy-weight coat, and is thicker than I had anticipated. Which turned out to be a good thing since we have our first traces of snow here in Chicago today.
I'm a size 6 these days, and purchased a small, and while the shoulders are a bit close-cut for me (I have slightly broad shoulders), I think the coat will break in just fine with time. There's room for a mid-weight sweater under it, much more and I feel like a marshmallow. Also the texture and smell of the coat is a little odd at first, but again, I think with wear it will dissipate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CarolinaBlues Didnt have the issues that negative reviews did
I am choosing to review the jacket because the reviews almost kept me from purchasing it and that would have been a mistake.
I find that the issues others had were not issues for me. I am 5'7'' and 130, sz 4. I bought the S. The sleeve length is perfect, they hit at my thumb which means it will fully cover the sleeves of what I wear underneath. The lining is mostly flannel with a little bit of quilted lining at the bottom 1/3 of the inside, which is just as warm as the flannel and adds a nice look. The color is as pictured, a muddy brown.
The sizing chart suggest that I order an XS but since I haven't worn an XS in years I naturally ordered S. If you find it tight in the shoulder and not having movement in the arms that means that the coat is too small, if this is an issue just return if for the correct size.
On me the Small is not too large while still allowing room for a sweater underneath but a thin shirt doesn't leave you swimming in the jacket. It is warm and will be perfect for ENC winters.
Above all the quality of this jacket is top notch, as expected for LLBean. $200 is a steal for this garment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LDLarkins Beautiful but...
This is a beautiful jacket and very warm, but there are a few issues. First of all, I wasn't exactly a fan of the sleeves. The way the sleeves have been cut and sewn at the shoulder prevents a whole lot of movement of your arms. You can't really lift your arms very much without the bottom of the coat rising considerably. Second, I was expecting the flannel lining to be on the entire inside of the jacket. Unfortunately, the flannel really only covers from about the waist to the collar and from shoulder to shoulder. The rest of the lining seems to be the quilted material from the quilted riding jacket. The third issue is that I think this jacket is kind of "vanity sized." In other words, I think the XS fits more like a S. If you're only planning on using this jacket for running around town, I'd say to get it! If you're planning on wearing it while you're doing any kind of field work/labor that requires lifting your arms, I'd avoid. Like I said, it's a beautiful jacket, and I think that with a few tweaks it could possibly be a perfect town AND FIELD jacket.
