Ok so this does fit weird...BUT don't hesitate to buy it. It's so comfortable and will be perfect for store runs, dog walks or any other outdoor activities. It does run large. I usually wear XL or L and ordered M...could have even sized down to S. Will work well with sweaters or turtlenecks underneath and warm enough for New England until November and maybe later depending on what you have under it. I'm short 5-1 so it lands below my waist...maybe mid hip. It pooches out toward the back and that looks a little odd...take a good look at the pic. But it's comfy and will great for me to wear much of the winter in L.A....gets in the 30s here folks!

I just love this poncho! I don't understand the negative comments on fit or pockets. I'm tempted to buy a secondary color!

I tried to love this poncho but no matter how I dressed it, it looked like a bad tent. The length was short on the xs but the arms and width were far too big. I wanted a roomy poncho but this was just too much. It might be nice on someone taller

This is my go to spring jacket. I love it, it's so comfortable, fits well, and all you have to do to correct the pocket issue is take a needle and thread and tack it to the edge of the zipper. Pockets then hold down. I would recommend it to anybody with no doubts, and have had several compliments on it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kalgary Thick Fleece
While I like the concept of the poncho, I'm not sure I like it in this thick fleece. It is quite stiff at the bottom end, but as it is still new, I can't comment on whether it may loosen up after a few washes. I think it is a bit short, too, but now that I look at the picture again, I can see that it looks similar on as it does in the catalogue. I won't return it as I use it when I watch TV in our cooler basement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KackyW Definitely proportioned for a shorter build
I love this poncho and it's now my go-to jacket for spring and fall. But I am quite short (4'-11") so it falls to my hip in the front and a little lower in back. The sleeves are short enough that I can use my hands without digging my way out of the folds. I'm an experienced seamstress and I am not noticing anything odd about the front pockets except that in many garments of this design, they would be nothing more than a flat slash, whereas these are a roomier pouch.

I am 5'3" tall. I ordered the size medium in poncho. I felt it was too short and hung strangely, looking very wide - nothing like the picture. It runs very large. The material is nice and colors attractive, but due to the way it looked on me, I returned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MrsAnnie Great for maternity wear.
My pregnant daughter loved this as she had a hard time finding a comfortable jacket. Full relaxed fit was great for her and her growing "passenger", soft and easy to move with comfort, long enough to look neat and modest coverage. The pockets were oddly placed and probably could be eliminated. Wish it came in more colors.

I love the feel of the poncho and the material used but I also had the same issues with the pockets that others mentioned. And I know it's meant to be a poncho but I felt it didn't hang properly (perhaps it would have looked better if it was longer - I'm 5' 7") so I took it to a good seamstress who fixed the pockets and sewed the sides shut, almost to the buttons and now I love it! It drapes much better.
I sit in front of a computer a lot of the day and it's perfect to keep me extra warm when I need it?very cosy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Limestone Fit not flattering
I bought this poncho on line. Frankly, had I tried it on in a store, I would not have bought it.
Perhaps if I were statuesque vs "not quite 5'5", it would be a more flattering wear. I have worn it a couple of times & have come to refer to it as the Clara Barton cape since somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I remember stories of Civil War era nurses in similar garb. With all due respect to those heroic women, this is not a compliment.
I will keep it since I don't want to spend any more on it to send it back. I expect it will retreat farther & farther into the back of my closet until one day I retrieve it to donate to a coat drive.
