The bad thing about this shirt is the front panel which droops and hangs below the hemline (about an inch).. Otherwise the styling is ok and makes the shirt versatile enough to wear on different occasions.

I bought the henley in Orange Spice. While the shirt was very comfortable, the front panel of "woven poplin" is a slightly different color.

From the picture, it looked like the shirt was a nice material that would cling to the body just enough to be flattering. When I got the top, I discovered that the entire front of the shirt, down to the hem, has an insert in a stiff fabric that sticks out under the bust instead of clinging to your body (I got it in XL). This does not show in the picture at all! The shirt is long enough, and the color is nice, but this shirt adds at least 20 lbs to my middle. If you want to look like you have a baby bump, this shirt will do it!
I need to tell my husband to stop buying me shirts from LL Bean for Christmas. They do not know how to make shirts that are flattering on a woman. He got me 2 shirts back in the 90s that I loved. It has been downhill ever since. The last several shirts either don't fit me properly, or fit but are so un-flattering that I won't wear them out of the house. Since they are gifts I have a hard time asking my husband to return them. What I really wanted this year was a trail model fleece, but for some reason there is no dark blue or purple this year in the one that zips all the way down. There were colors I liked in the pullover, but I don't buy pullover sweaters since I don't want to have to re-do my hair every time I put on or take off a sweater. Hint: Women are not just smaller guys, you really need to design some clothes specifically for women. Maybe watch a few episodes of What Not to Wear so you can see what is flattering on the female shape.

This is the first time I have ever been disappointed with anything from L.L. Bean. The middle insert needs ironed and does not lay like the rest of the shirt. Very hard to iron.

This shirt looked really cute in the picture of it, but I was very disappointed because after washing it needed ironing all along the ribbon banding around the neck and the insert . The banding is a pain to iron, it is narrow and keeps folding over on itself. If you don't mind this tedious work then it is a cute shirt.

I have a completely different take on this shirt. At first glance I thought "Renaissance Faire". I could just see it with a short, black- velvet, laced weskit, or maybe a brocade one.
I love its almost-Empire style, or at least effect - it suits my sense and sensibility. It is romantic, figure-enhancing, and mysterious. It is serene and yet knowing. It is shy, yet has sass. I bought it in Dark Raspberry, and the scoopneck is perfectly proportioned to its XS sizing. It fit even better after cold washing and low drying. And I never iron it.
Here are four purely practical ideas for those who don't appreciate the style: 1) Cold wash, and low dry it. 2) Try a smaller, flatter, less bulky belt.3) Try pants that have a higher waist (less bulk on your lower abdomen). or... 4) Put that cupcake down NOW!
So now I'll grab my lute and take my leave, gathering parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme along my way. Maybe I'll even find a short, black-velvet laced vest at the Faire. Tis a beautiful day.

I bought this is my usual size in orange spice. Love the color - perfect for fall. Unfortunately, the woven inset must be ironed and does not drape as well as the cotton knit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SuzanneA Looks like a maternity top!
I was very disappointed when I received my top, the style was cute but there is a front panel in a different material that makes this top puff out more than usual so it really looks like a maternity top! Usually any top I have bought with the gathered front falls and looks great but I think that because the center piece of material is a different fabric than the rest of the shirt it makes it pucker out more. I'm returning this today.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RLOlyWA Nice but runs large
I love the color (orange spice)! Very pleasing and perfect for fall. The fit was too big overall, especially in front. I thought I would like the pin tuck panel, and it does look nice on top, but it pooches out at the tummy.
I ordered small, and that was the correct size for the sweaters I ordered at the same time. I'm usually about a size 6, fairly slender, 34c bra, 5'5" and not much of a belly. An XS might fit better, but I like the length of the S and I'm not sure I want to take the chance that I will have the same issues with the pooching.
It might be cute as a maternity shirt if you're not too tall, or for anyone with a little more going on in front. I think this would be a GREAT nursing shirt because of the Henley buttons that go really low. And, as I mentioned plenty of room for a post-partum pooch!
The quality is good, well-constructed, soft fabric, what I would expect from LL Bean.

I ordered this in a medium. It fits great and seems well made, but I am not super crazy about the color or the fact that it needs to be ironed. It looks good with jeans and is something I can wear to work, though, so I am keeping it.
