Rated 5 out of 5 by CalicoCat52 Bright Colors, PLEASE- It's my Go To Coat!!!
It's a rain coat - the weather is gray and dreary. I want to be seen. And, on nice days I'd also like a bright colour. My Wild Berry (with a wool liner I love) has lost a button on the back detail (which was an elegant touch) as is the kick pleat. This created a hole that allows the rain in, actually two holes as I removed the other and tried to cover the holes with buttons of a similar color. I know these buttons are no longer an issue in the new style but I cannot replace this coat in an attractive color. Therefore my raincoat is now only coat. I've come here several times thinking I'll order a new long raincoat with a removable liner for colder weather but I want a coat that can be seen on dreary days and the darkness of early winter and just plain every night darkness. I might consider the blue IF it had reflective tape sewn appropriately and tastefully. I have had my "Wild Berry" since 2011 and still get compliments on the color. Because it washes so well and bounces back when rolled to pack, it's my go to coat for all occasions. It's not only my raincoat but because of it's length and elegance I wear it as a dress coat for most occasions. I'm scent sensitive and it's wash-ability allows me to wear it anywhere and know I can easily wash it and make it scent free once more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Maryd11 Very bad fit
The coat is square and the elastic waist band is cut too high. Feels like the old time empire dress. Not flattering at all. The only reason I kept it is that after waiting for two months I really needed the coat and didn't want to have to wait anymore. For the money it should be a pass. Find something better.

This is a replacement coat for one I purchased many years ago. I love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by BostonianTravelGirl Cut narrow through the hips
I love these long raincoats, I had the original H2Off coat with removable wool lining, and wore it out with constant use. I didn't like the styling of the 2.0 version, so held off on replacing it until this version came out. The one thing I don't like is that the styling through the hip area is more narrow than the past cuts, which had a back pleat if I recall correctly. This allowed for more layering underneath the coat- in the deep of the winter in the past I was able to layer my small raincoat over my x-small ultralight down coat for extra warmth. The only way I can do that now is by sizing up to a medium in the raincoat. So, LL Bean, consistent sizing would be better... and attention to the cut of the coats would also be great. A raincoat should also not be cut so close to the body at the bottom, so that the rain sheets off and doesn't just roll off and soak your feet/hem.
Overall a very good quality garment, with pretty good styling, but not as versatile as the old style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Clintonville Great raincoat
I looked everywhere for a lightweight long raincoat. Was about to give up when I checked out Bean. I love Bean, but stopped ordering because of having to pay return shipping. But they recently opened a retail store nearby so decided to give it a shot.
I ordered it and it's perfect. The rain doesn't drip down into my rain boots like it did with a short raincoat.
A friend has already ordered hers after seeing mine.
Thanks L.L. Bean!

I am looking to replace my original H2OFF coat but do nor like the changes to the collar and hood.
One of the benefits of the older style was being able to remove the hood. Having the hood attached also makes the coat appear too casual for going to concerts.
Hope that you will return to the original design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Baycyd Great for El Nino
I purchased this coat in anticipation of El Nino and if/when it comes, I'll definitely be ready. The quality is top-notch as always with LL Bean, though I do share others' comments that it would be better if it were A line instead of columnar. I had a hard time deciding between M and L, so I called the customer service line and the representative told me about the difference in inches between the M and L through shoulders and hips and I stayed with the M. It's definitely a close fit; I'm just hoping it's not too close.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Nancy52 Good fabric, bad fit
I looked forward to receiving this coat as I loved the long length and the hood. However, I was very disappointed with the fit. It's cut so narrow that you can't wear anything medium or heavy underneath. It would be much better as an A Line or more roomier so that you can wear it over heavier clothing. Sent the coat back and will be watching for a new model more suited for my shape. P.S. I ordered my regular size, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CrusherLarue Staying dry
I recently moved to the Oregon coast. The rain can be intense at times, especially during the winter. With the high winds, it rains sideways. I searched for a long lightweight raincoat that would provide more coverage and found one with high reviews at LL Bean. With my rainboots, I am entirely covered. I gave my new coat a trial run during a recent wind and rain storm. I walked along the coastline and the wind blew the waves on to the pathway. I was pelted with water. And, I stayed dry. The hood has a good design, cinching at the neck and staying in place, keeping my head dry. I am very pleased with my new coat!

Rated 2 out of 5 by patiogardener Too narrow!
I wish I had bought this coat a few years ago when the style had a loose a-line body. This year's coat is straight and narrow and snug over the hips even with only lightweight clothing underneath. Everything else about the coat is great - supple fabric, rich blue color, nice details. But who wants a tight raincoat? Back it went.
