I am a total bean lover. I drive a LLBean Subaru, 90% of my wardrobe comes from bean, my dogs are outfitted with bean beds, bowls ,collars, leashes, toys. My home is full of bean products-I love all things bean, but I am very disappointed with this product. The boots are comfortable, very attractive but are not waterproof. I stood in my tub with water up to the zipper / gortex sections and my feet got wet. VERY SAD. I have been searching for an comfortable, attractive, all season, slip on, waterproof boot. These ain't them! Even worse-Bean has retired the Lounger bean boot! Dear Bean, please really make the storm chaser waterproof or bring back the Lounger! Thank you.

Haven't worn them but a couple times, but fit is good. No trouble slipping them on. No chaffing of shin, but my sock did extend past top edge of boot, but still no undue rubbing.

This boot fits on the foot just fine, but the problem is getting it on your foot if you have a high instep. I ordered a half size larger and still spent 5 minutes trying to get my foot all the way into the shoe. They've made it more "stylish" I guess. I also don't have a skinny ankle and could barely get the thing zipped up. This is with a very thin trouser sock as well. I'll keep it a few more days and hope that my constant thrusting and tugging may stretch it out enough that I can get into it. It looks nice once on, and my foot feels comfortable when walking. If you have thick ankles and a high instep, you may want to look elsewhere for a different boot.

I got these boots last year and I can't wait for cold weather this year so I can get them out and wear them. I mostly use them for dog walking and mountain biking. I bought a pair for my mom who does lots of outdoor farm chores and they work great for her as well. I got them a size larger so I can wear thick socks when I need more warmth. I rate them a 10 for comfort.

Although I love these boots, I've found it somewhat difficult to get them on. Maybe it's just the shape of my foot, but when I step into them I have to pull really hard to get my heel around the zippered part. The angle seems to be all wrong. Don't know if anyone else has the same problems....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yooper62 Great general 3 season boot
Love these boots which are comfortable, easy to pull on/off and keep out the snow, mud, and water! I will wear these from late fall to early spring. As recommended by LLBean, I ordered a 1/2 size larger, and the boot fits perfect to my big toe. They may be a tad wide, but that helps to get them on/off, and I typically wear a thicker sock. I have used these for 3 months through the mud, snow, and now slush puddles. These are great for the dog park and general use to the grocery store. They are my go-to shoe/boot unless the snow is too deep or it is too cold.
I like that they have the pull tab on both the front and rear of boot opening. The boots are light enough for every day use and keep my feet warm. If I was going to be out for long periods of time standing on snow, or it was bitter cold, then I would set these aside and use snow boots instead of these Storm Chasers.
The inside zipper stitching on one boot has come loose and was getting caught in the zipper, so I snipped it. I will probably send back to LLBean to repair in the off season. They are great with returns and exchanges/repairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pibblemom Great boots!
I live in NC and finally decided that some real snow boots would come in handy even if we don't have that many days of winter precipitation. Man, am I glad I got these boots. They are plenty warm for the conditions here and they go through slush, puddles, and snow just fine. For ice, I just put on my traction chains and I'm good to go. I use them mainly for walking my dogs in my neighborhood and generally getting around in winter weather. I'll be looking for another pair of these if they ever wear out.

I like to get outside all year round in Wisconsin but in the past my feet would get so cold in the boots I had. My feet have stayed toasty with these boots. I ordered a half size larger so I could wear two pairs of sock, including a heavier weight outer sock. One of the boots is a bit tough to get off by myself while the other one is fine. While the boots are heavy duty and keep my feet warm, they are not too heavy for walking and I have gone on walks of a couple of miles without a problem.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kennelgirl Good, but not good enough
I've bought the Storm chaser footwear for a while now and switched from the low shoe to the zip boot for warmth and to keep my ankles dry. I love how comfortable these are, but they do not keep my feet warm and they just do not stand up. I wear them 8 hrs/day, 5 days/wk in an animal shelter and these shoes only last about 9 months before they start to leak. When walking in snow, my feet were always cold. I will not be replacing them this time.
If you are planning to wear them casually and in temperatures above -5 (not walking in snow), they may work for you.

If you are looking for a boot that will keep your feet warm in the snow, this is not the boot for you. Even being outside in mid-20's shoveling snow for 15-20 minutes leaves my feet really cold. If, however, you are looking for something comfortable to keep your feet dry during rain and such storms, these are really nice and very well-made. I wish they would offer half sizes, though, because I bought the 9 while being a 9 1/2, feeling that the 10 would just be too big. These just fit me, but had I bought the next size up I could probably be wearing thicker socks to keep my feet warmer on snowy days.
