I got these to replace a LLBean pair of thinsulate snow boots VN#05455. I went with LLBean again because after 10 years of use my feet never got cold in -40 degrees and were always comfortable but these snow chasers are half the size and half the warmth of my old pair. My feet get cold just sitting in a warm office in these snow chaser boots! I can't find anything comparable on the web to my old pair. LLBean bring back the VN#05455!!!

Our first wintry weather arrived today. Wet snow with puddles in back yard. I played with my dog, running through it all, and the boots stayed dry inside. Took a long walk around the neighborhood.
Frozen granular snow/ice on the road. I did not slip at all. I often have difficulty finding comfortable footwear, but these boots felt great, even at the end of the walk. Thanks for a good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CarnxFam I LOVE these boots!!
I asked for these boots for Christmas after many failed attempts at replacing my old winter hiking boots that fell apart last winter. These boots are great! I didn't get to wear them for a couple weeks since this winter has been pretty mild, but I wore them once and fell in love with them. I wore them on a trip to Colorado where it was quite cold and icy and they were perfect. They grip well on ice, they're warm, waterproof, and comfortable. I've worn them hiking, shoveling, and running around doing errands. They look great with a pair of tall boot socks or with skinny jeans and I've had a lot of people compliment them. Definitely happy with this purchase.

Sure wish I could have ordered D width. The toe box is too narrow, squeezing my toes, although the length (size 8) is good and my big toe is comfortable. Wondering if I should return them and order up one size (also wish for half sizes) or try a man's boot.
I will be wearing them out in the pouring rain tonight and make a final decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TreeHuggerinAB Super comfortable, dry and grippy!
Mostly I have always been happy with my LLBean purchases, but I haven't been much for writing reviews. Today I was inspired though. We just had freezing rain and my dog was dying to be walked - I decided to brave the conditions. I was already happy with how supportive and comfortable these boots are. They also keep my feet really dry. Anyway, today confirmed what I was already suspecting - these boots are remarkably grippy on ice. I was basically walking on a skating rink tonight, but felt very stable considering.

This review is for the Women's Storm Chasers Lace-Up Boot in Root Beer. I was heavily debating between the black and grey lace-up Snow Sneakers and the Storm Chasers but ended up going with the Storm Chasers. I was going for more of a boot look but wanted the comfort of a sneaker, and I think the Storm Chasers were a little bit more comfortable where the boot hits the leg.
I wear an 8.5 in dress shoes, 9 in most boots, and 9.5 in running shoes. I ordered the Storm Chasers in a 9 (because the 9.5 were already sold out!), and to my surprise, they fit really nicely with a medium-thickness wool sock. I have not tested them outside yet, but just around my apartment, they are very warm and comfortable to walk in. I would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KathyB55 Very comfotable fit!
I hesitated to buy them because they are a medium width and I prefer wide width but these boots are roomy enough for me. The padding is soft & pliable and does not cut into my calf muscles. I just love them and I look forward to wearing them this winter.

I bought these boots to replace a pair of Wildcat boots that I had gotten many years ago. These boots are not as warm, and not as comfortable for wearing all day. I considered purchasing another pair of Wildcat boots, but they were different than they used to be (a friend had purchased a pair, and I was able to try hers on). I wouldn't get these boots again.

I wanted to wait a few months and see what these boots could do in New England weather before I made a review and I have to say that these are the best snow boots I've ever had. I took them hiking all throughout Vermont and New Hampshire on slippery rocks and absolutely submerged them once in an ankle deep puddle and stayed completely dry and didn't fall once. They have also helped me survive the onslaught of Boston snow and are good-looking enough to wear out and about. They're cushioned and warm, especially with warm socks (socks are important). Might want to go a half size up if you wear super thick woolly ones. Thinner socks fit well. The inner label stitching does tend to be itchy if the socks aren't high enough but I usually tuck my pants into them anyway. Also important to lace them all the way up because once snow gets in there the rubber insulation pretty much traps the moisture inside for a while. All that aside, great boots! Definitely worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Snowblind53 Great boots!
Just bought these and I'm so glad I did. Living on the South Shore of Massachusetts, halfway between Boston and Cape Cod and we've had 18" blizzards for 3 weeks in a row along with a few 6" storms in between. There's about 5 feet of snow on the ground and temps below zero. Went out to clean up some snow banks in my new boots today. Didn't feel any cold at all and they have great traction. I usually use a pair of traction covers on my boots, but these seemed to be great without them. I usually have to buy "D" width, but these are plenty wide enough even if you have a couple pairs of socks on which really isn't necessary because the boots are very warm all by themselves.
