Rated 3 out of 5 by Katellie Not for narrow feet
I purchased the LLBean Rubber Mocs because they were available in a narrow width. They were still too wide. My heel rode up and I had to cinch the laces to the point that the tongue compressed too much and was uncomfortable, and my foot still rode up. I contacted customer service and was told that the Storm Chaser should work for me even though they did not come in a narrow width. However, they still are not working out and I'm going to have to return these as well. The toe area fits fine but the rest of my foot rides up. This cannot be fixed by going with a smaller size because the shoe would be too short. I tried them with the medium weight wool socks that I wear during the cooler season and with Superfeet inserts. I then tried them with a heavier Sole insert and it was a bit better but my foot still rides up too much. I didn't get them for serious walking but even for limited use around the yard and neighborhood they are likely to create stability issues and wear out my socks. It's too bad that LLBean cannot be bothered to create their "classic" shoe in sizes that are available to people with narrow feet. For a shoe that sells for many years it ought to be worth it to invest in fit for all. Other than the fit they seem like a good waterproof shoe. Unfortunately, I am having trouble finding something similar elsewhere. Something that provides support, good tread, and is faster to slip on than my ankle high Boggs.

I received these boots a few days ago, and just got around to trying them on. Problem. When I took them out of the box my dog (a 3 year old Lab) saw them, and immediately thought "WE ARE GOING FOR A WALK". So we did, it rained a lot yesterday...on the bright side my feet stayed nice and dry, I wish I could say the same for the dog....

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rainwalk Storm Chaser shoe/boots
I got these a few years ago and they have been very comfortable, especially when I added a soft arch in mine. My husband got some also. Unfortunately, the hard shell heel of his began separating from the shoe soon after he got it. Mine were dine until a month and the same thing began happening on both of mine. The hard shells of both my shoes were flapping up and down at the heels when I walked. I secured them with gorilla glue and all went well until yesterday when the front of one also began separating and water was leaking in. So I secured the fronts of both to the hard shells with gorilla glue and hoping they will last because I do love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PToes Better than I reviewed; just right
After weighing all the pros and cons I purchased the womens Black slip-on Storm Chaser. Was concerned about the "heel slippage" reports. First is a good looking shoe and tough. Yes there is some slippage but the upper part of the heel near the ankle keeps the slippage to a minimum. Could it be tighter yes. I plan to buy another pair. Usually I wear a 7.5 but bought an 8 in case I need "sock" room. With thick socks these fit snug and I am happy. Without socks = loose. Purpose was for inside/outside winter use; so far very pleased. Future use to get them dirty. Today I look good in them. HA. Hope this is helpful to others. Back tag on shoe is great for pull-on.

I would have liked to keep these boots, but I have a somewhat narrow heel, and the heel on these kept slipping. The length and feel were great, but I am going to return them and buy lace-up shoes because I can't go around with my heel slipping all the time.

These shoes are terrific! I loved them as soon as I put them on. I wore them for a few hours around the house before even thinking of taking them off. I sometimes wear a 7 but lately have needed 7.5 so that's what I ordered and I'm glad they're not any roomier.
They are more akin to short boots than sneakers and not something to wear in the summer (or to run in as someone mentioned) but they're perfect for doing errands on rainy and snowy days nine months of the year.
I have very narrow heels so I was concerned about the reviews, but they fit fine, but of course shoes are very subjective. I found them just perfect for my purposes. Hopefully you will too.

Not the most comfortable but fit their purpose. These are essentially cut off boots. The heel space is roomy but not enough to slip off or be a problem The toe space is narrower than expected. I'm hoping they'll mold to my feet but not much arch support and some foot cramping is happening. I usually wear an 8 1/2 or 9 and bought a size 9.
They're warm and dry and will be ok - just not great. Imagine they're a lace up boot - not a running shoe. They're great in the rain, good tread, and not slippery like the old bean boots. I expect them to be warm enough in the snow when running errands or going from the vehicle to inside or after ski boots.

I live in an Alaskan town that has only one paved road. This means a lot of walking through puddles, mud, and slush around town while shopping or going to the post office. These waterproof Storm Chaser shoes are my go-to footwear choice most of the time. Easy to slip into and out of and easy to clean. Not that I've cleaned them in months --- I just knock the dirt and mud off. Perfect for walking the dog. I even wear them when there is a light snowfall and my feet stay warm. They have a good grip on the snow. I've slipped into them barefoot to go out and fill the bird-feeder, but usually wear a light to medium-weight (for cold weather) sock. No break-in period required as they were comfortable from the first day. Love love love these shoes. Don't ever stop making them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JerseyGirl Perfect for Wide Gardener
I bought these last spring to wear in the garden and while walking my dog in the woods. Since I have wide feet, they fit me perfectly, while giving me excellent support during hours on my feet and good traction in the rain. So far I am totally satisfied!

I should have listened to the reviewers on this site who stated that the heel slips on these Storm Chaser shoes. This shoe is very wide in the heel. I ordered an 8 and my toes came to the front of the shoe, so a smaller size would not correct this problem. Beautiful shoe, but there are definitely issues with the heel width. I do not think that LL Bean should charge $6.50 for return shipping when clearly there is a problem with the heel width.
