Rated 4 out of 5 by SwampYankeeReview Good but not perfect
I own four pairs of these in different colors. I really like the weight of the material and the width of the legs.
As another reviewer mentioned, these pants could do without the fake back pocket flap stitching. I also think they could do without the coin pocket in the front. The back stitching and coin pocket together make the pants look a bit busy.

I am a college age male who like to dress "preppy" bought one pair of these paints back in late November (now early March) and loved them so much I bought 3 more. It's now march and they're starting to fall apart...Mainly loose buttons but one pair even split in the crotch when I sat down today. Lots of my clothes come from Llbean and this is the first item I have had issues with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBEANHIKINGBOOTSROCK Nice, trim style and like the front mini-pocket
Nice trimmer style compared to some other LL bean casual chinos in standard. The legs are not baggy with these whereas in some other LL Bean chinos I own that feel a bit baggy. And since I use the Fitbit Zip to track steps, I appreciate the little pocket to stash my Zip for the day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ResearchBeforeBuy Wonderful...except for one thing
I am 5/9", slender with 30-31" waist.
I really like these pants. Well-made for the price, cotton material is of good weight and is soft yet appears durable, and the Standard Fit fit is very comfortable for my build. To me the obvious stitching does make for a more a casual look than some competitors casual chinos.
I got the Heritage Khaki color. I really like having a choice of this darker khaki shade (I believe it is the darkest shade of khaki of any of LLB's pants), though to me it has a slight amount too much yellow in it.
The only real negative is (to me) very odd stitching below the back pockets that draw an outline of pocket flaps if they had been there. Either have pocket flaps (which I personally do not like) or leave the pockets to their conventional look.
I wish they came as a 33" length; for me the 32" length was a tad short and the 34" was clearly too long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CompulsiveBuyer Finally a great chino that's affordable!
I finally found a great pair a chino that's not in the $150 range.
Build quality= Very, very impressive for that kind of money.
Waist size= I wear 35, on most pants 34 are too tight and 36 feels loose everywhere. Every LL Bean pants I ordered in 35 were perfect fits every time.
Length= I'm normally ranging between 29 and 30 and with LL Bean, when the pants has the option I take 29 1/4" and they fit perfect. So I took a 29 and it fits alright, just a tad short, but if it bothers me, the cuff is long enough to let me add 1/4" or so.
Fit (Standard fit)= Thank you for that Standard fit, because it is perfect, not too slim, not too baggy, just perfect and the "sits below waist" make all the difference.
Color= I took the heritage khaki color and it came out a bit more yellowish than the more khaki that I see on the website, but it's nice because otherwise all my pants would look the same.
Oh and not too dressy, not too casual, just right for work or play or both. So now I want more neutral color of these, like black or grey, that would be perfect. And if you can put custom length like 29 1/2" or 1/4'', that would also be great. Thanks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DressesLikeaGrownup Waist size
I have no idea how the waist measurement of these compares to other LL Bean pants, but I just used my MyoTape body tape measure, and my waist size is exactly 34 inches according to that. The 34-inch waist in these pants is at least 2-3 inches larger.
Otherwise, the pants are close fitting on stockier legs, like mine. But that's exactly how I wanted it, for that cleaner, 1950s chino profile. The quality also seems great, the fabric has a nice, soft feel to them. Really looking forward to the 33 inch waist pair I just ordered.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NOKD Preppy; Own Four Pair
These are good mid-range chinos (priced right, especially on sale*).
Traditionally cut and they really can be dressed up or down. The details are "correct": on-seam pockets (slanted is okay), straight-leg, watch pocket on right, cuffed, belt loops placed traditionally, just an all-around preppy/trad/ivy-correct chino. Rear pocket flaps would have been a nice touch, but not necessary. Get the inseam a bit short for that post-collegiate look. I stick with khaki color (I'm TRADitionally minded). :) Other colors are good for that GTH Ivy League look, however.
I'd happily pay three times the price for a Made-In-USA version of these pants. L.L. Bean should offer us more American-made "heritage" items, especially in their iconic shoes and clothing products. I digress.
Try a pair of these chinos. I think you'll appreciate them. Classy and timeless. And pants in a size 35 are not too common, so another plus if you're a "full 34" (like me) and dislike overly-tight pants in the waist, always tuck in your shirts and enjoy wearing a belt for it's actual function.
Note: the third time I wore my first pair the inner dress-pant-button come off. A common quality-control problem these days but an easy fix at the dry cleaners. I ordered three more pair regardless.
I like them enough to own four pair, all the exact same khaki color and size (35x29). Recommended.
*I just purchased the three extra pair a few days ago and now I see they're having a sale (<bangs head on desk>). Oh well, that's the way she goes. :) I would have bought five pair instead of three. I like them that much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Seve2125 Great Casual Khakis
These khakis are super comfortable and are perfect for either casual Friday's or the weekend. I really like the additional color options with them, I bought a darker khaki and a light green. These seem to be high quality pants and remind me of the first-run Khaki's that Vinyard Vines used to make back in ~2005-2006 before their quality went way downhill. I expect to pick up a couple more colors of these pants sometime in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NLHugh Finally, a perfect fit for me
The low-rise construction of these pants contributes to a perfect fit. It's hard enough finding pants that come with a 29" inseam (although Bean is MUCH better in that department than most), but finding the Lakewashed Chinos was like hitting the jackpot. The double button closure is a plus, as are non-creased legs. I spend a lot of time in and around the water; as well as at conferences, giving indoor presentations and the like. My "uniform" for virtually all my work activities is a kind of "casual plus" for which these pants are great. My only complaint: I'd like to see more colors like navy, loden, and the like. The wine and green don't quite cut it for me. Anyway, BUY THESE PANTS!
