Rated 5 out of 5 by Kingfish7 Love the Old town predator
I have owned the Old Town Predator for a year now...my 3rd fishing kayak. This is a very versatile boat for sure.
1. STABLE, STABLE, STABLE. Im 5'11 210 lbs and I can stand, cast and fight fish while moving in this boat.
2. Plenty of storage in front and center hatch as well as the open storage area in the back. I have my crate and cooler in the back of the boat. Plano boxes under my seat for quick access. (Typically no point in having the seat in the low position)
3. Great speed, Im able to paddle up river much faster than most kayaks. A guy in Jackson Koosa HD asked if I had a motor once (joking).
1. The seat securing straps are a bit weak. You have to have those secure or turning around to get items from the back storage area the seat will pop out.
99.9 percent love this boat. Im going to get the 12' MX as a second boat with the open deck.
I highly recommend this boat for river/bay/lakes! You will not be disappointed.

The Old Town Predators are awesome fishing kayaks. We have both the Predator 13 and the MX and they are both great. Very stable in rough water and they track well even being wide. Good amount of storage in the front stowage and everything stays dry, and the water runs right out of the scupper holes in the main part of the boat so you're never sitting in water. The seat is great too with two seating positions you can either cruise , sit up high to fish or flip it back out of the way to stand and fish.( good balance helps but they are stable enough for standing) Then there's the mounting plates on the rail making it easy to mount all the gadgetry the gives us the edge. Over all, good kayak for fisherman of any caliber. However , they are kind of heavy on land but with a good cart we've overcome that. So, if you're thinking about buying one...DO IT! You wont be sorry.
