I'll admit, I was on the fence about this purchase for a while. I doubted the durability of the fabric; it didn't seem to have enough pockets; it just didn't seem as capable as some other packs I was looking at. However, after actually using it, all these fears turn out to be unfounded. It has plenty of straps and lashing options--I was able to attach a sleeping bag, a mat and a tent--and it certainly holds way more than I should have been carrying. Now I love it. I've pared back my load out, organized gear into "modules" in the pockets and now I'm good to go. I still wish the main section made for tidier organization, but like the pina colada song, while I've been coveting Maxpeditions, it turns out I already had just what I need. Plus it's blaze orange, which makes it less likely I'll get shot in the woods.

I bought this Hunter Orange as a pack to wear for hiking during hunting season. Love the color, the quiet fabric, the waist belt, and adjustability. This would be an ideal daypack for me except that it has no front outside pocket and the pockets that do exist (one on each sir and one on top) are just too small for what I need. If those pockets were made larger and the front pocket was added, I would think that this would be a perfect daypack.

For $59 this is a great pack. I did add some accessory bungee cords, a bino carrying case, and accessory pouch on the waist belt which gave me the exterior storage I wanted. Comfortable to wear and just right for a day in the woods and needing to carry layering and your gear.

The pack is large and comfortable enough if not overloaded. The soft fabric has a tendency to pick up dirt and isn't as tough as I might like. The fabric is however quiet and that could be seen as an advantage. It's a good pack for the price.

Bang for buck, it's a very good pack. I'm not a fan of using a backpack when hunting as you need to stop, and remove the pack to get frequently used items from it . BUT-if you want to hunt and hike in to your spot, or hike during hunting season with a mediumish sized day pack that carries more than enough gear for a day hunt--dollar for dollar this one is a winner. It's quiet, reasonably durable, and relatively inexpensive. I have seen packs with less capacity, and fewer features than this one for $30-$40 more. Nope, it's not an anatomical wonder in a tight fitting shape and it doesn't have a water bladder designated pocket, but it is very good for $59.

This is an excellent pack. I purchased mine a year ago and finally gave it a good test this past weekend. Provides plenty of room for everything I want to carry along on my hunts. Pack is quiet and comfortable to carry and stays put very well. The orange version is nice, adding a measure of safety when moving about in low light conditions. This pack is well worth the price. I recommend it.

Nice backpack for carrying all the basic gear that you would need on a hunt. The pack is lightweight and well made and reasonably priced. Buckles and harness adjust effortlessly.

EXCELLENT pack! There is plenty of space in this pack. I also really like the large side pockets...I hate having to dig through the main compartment of my current pack while I'm in the treestand...too noisy and hard to find things. These side pockets will make it so much easier to get to my go to calls/binocs/range finder/etc...Behind the side pockets there is an opening to put tripods and such items down through and into the mesh pockets...this is a very convenient feature. The two point buckles/pack harness is great...makes the weight of the pack feel like much less. They are fully adjustable...the top buckle straps slide up and down to find the most comfortable position. This is another high quality, excellent product from LLBean! They basically took their hiking pack design and added several features that are very useful for hunters. I would recommend this pack to any hunter!
