I really appreciate that this shirt has room in the sleeves and at the hip - not cut too tight to wear as so many other name brands have started doing, and I love the color - a bit more muted than the online photo shows. It is overly full in the mid back though. I have one I bought several years ago that doesn't have the back placket, and it suits me better. The older shirt also has a sleeve placket that is about an inch shorter than the new one and has a button. I don't mind the missing button, but a shorter placket would make it easier to keep the sleeve rolled up.

I ordered this shirt years ago. I am so pleased that it is STILL the same shirt ! Not cut down, or or tailored ,. Washes so well and excellent quality. So hard to find blouses that are not skimpy or very cheap fabric. I ordered a large many years ago and large this time 5'5 and 160. Fits so nice. I chatted with someone on line and she told me that is was the same shirt I had ordered years ago, she was right ! Please don't change it! More colors :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by GoldenTwin Very large collar
I've been searching for a plain shirt like this for a long time. The overall fit was fine, but the collar looked like a man's size 20. It was way too big for my neck.

This shirt is perfect for my job. Need to have white shirts that I wear under a smock. I have searched for years for a shirt with a button down collar. I remember them from long ago. Nothing looks better under a sweater than a button down collar because it stays in place. I really need some with short sleeves for summer.

nice shirt, roomy and comfortable. But I wish all LLBean shirts for women had the same feature as men's, i.e. a button along the sleeve placket to keep it looking neat, especially when rolling up the sleeves. Also, the placket seems too long, in comparison with similar styles from other manufacturers..

Rated 3 out of 5 by OneDedicatedLLBeanShopper Easy Care Washed Oxford Original Fit - Sizing
I wear these oxfords everyday during the year except in the winter. My closet is full of them from years of purchasing this beautiful shirt. Last year's version did not feel the same and had a sheen to it, and this year's original fit is not original fit at all. I measured this shirt with previous versions and the new shirt measures THREE inches smaller across the chest. I also had to return another shirt because the collar button was sewn in the wrong place so the collar didn't lie flat. When you say the shirt is "original" it is not. Please do not continue to change what was a perfect "original" shirt.

Item was describe as being able to be worn from dryer. It looked like I slept in it when I took it out of dryer. I am returning the two I didn't open and I have to pay shipping for something that didn't hold up to how it was described.

Rated 1 out of 5 by femgineer Completely impractical, unusable shirt
I have a simple test for work shirts - I raise my arms, drop them, then swing them all the way forward and back, expecting the shirt to not do anything weird. This isn't too much to ask! But for this shirt it was.
The fabric of this shirt is waaaay too stiff. Combined with the bagginess of the shirt, lifting my arms up made it bag in an uncomfortable and unsightly manner. I've never seen anything like it and I wouldn't wear a shirt like that to work. Returned it immediately after trying it on.

My only complaint is that it is too long. I wish they offered petite lengths in plus sizes.

I think L.L. Bean blouses/shirts are really over-priced, so I was happy to find this on sale (and I had coupons as well).
I bought a white one also, same fit. That said, I don't like the fit a whole lot, though I guess in fairness to them, it is pretty much as described. How I could not have noticed what it said about the fit before I bought this, I'm not sure. I normally read descriptions much more carefully. My mistake.
I don't like the shoulder seams being slightly off the shoulders. Why design something like that? It just looks like a mistake, like the shirt is too big and the wearer doesn't realize it. The sleeves are good in terms of length; and fortunately they have double cuff buttons. If it weren't for being able to use that second button, the cuffs would be WAY too big.
The body of the blouse is also too boxy to be really pleasing. Despite those issues, I'm going to keep this (and the white one, which doesn't have a button-down collar as this one does). I may regret it. If so, I'm still going to send it back.
However, there are no real alternatives: the two other "fits," which I would definitely prefer, don't come with long sleeves in this nice cotton, which I will assume does get softer with each wear, as Bean says it does. The more fitted shirts have "stretch," with non-cotton material added, which drives me nuts. Or they're 3/4-length sleeves, which I already have plenty of.
So all in all, I'm rather ambivalent about this purchase. I thought I'd like it a lot more than I do. We'll see what happens.
