Rated 5 out of 5 by RRHfromCT women like color, too
Love these shirts (although I do agree that the sizing has been somewhat inconsistent over the years). I have several, and use them constantly for both casual and work wear.
But I am SO TIRED OF PASTELS. LL Bean: Why do men get shirts in all sorts of interesting colors and patterns, while we women are consigned, year after year, to pastels and narrow stripes for this shirt style? What about adding some richer colors? Some windowpane plaids? Some wide striping? I could go on.
Anyone else out there tired of the assumption that women must want only pastels in a traditionally-styled shirt? If so, please weigh in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PlusandActive Finally a LLBean shirt that is long enough!
The online descriptions do not link up correctly from the item site to the review site. I am reviewing the easy care Oxford solid color long sleeve shirt in 3x and Apricot. For some reason there is a quirk in the system that causes the review description to come up as Washed Oxford Shirts, Original Multi-Stripe.
This shirt is finally long enough for me. I am almost 5'9" and have a long torso with a tummy that I try to cover with my shirts. Usually LLB shirts are very short and because they don't state the inches in length, only a vague low hip/ high hip description I am reluctant to buy. Low hip on a 5' person is not low hip on a 5'9" person. When when when will LLBean begin to give the factual data and measurements?
Back to the review. This shirt is good. I recommend it. Long enough. Sleeves are long enough and not too long. Love the Apricot color and want more warm tones like butterscotchy yellows, and light olive greens. I have pale but warm skin tones (think redhead) and the blues and cool pinks and whites are not so flattering as the warmer tones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Thumper99 Oxford Blouse - Huge
I ordered the Petite XS and it is huge. Not true to size. I decided to keep it anyway. It's a beautiful shirt and I know that I'll get many years of wear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by NYgal sizing all off
I own 2 of the original fit oxford shirts, many years old. excellent product. Now I see they are back - well they are but they have changed. The sizing is off. My originals are reg.large and still fit. I ordered reg.large and they are HUGE all-over. I re-ordered 6 shirts in reg. medium and they are too small. Very tight armholes - it's not me because my old shirts fit loosely but comfortably. So I measured the old vs. the new, medium & large. guess what - they measure differently. My old reg. large is larger than the new medium and smaller than the new large. Arm openings are also larger in my old size large, in fact - larger than both the new med. & new large. And the sleeves on the old size large fit me but the new medium, they are shorter, and much longer on the new large.
So what gives, LLBean? What are you doing stating the originals are back? And the wrinkle-resistant "new" ones - they smell horribly like vinegar - I suppose that's the finish. Colors are fine, esp. the florals, but they are ALL going back. I am more than disappointed and won't be buying any more shirts from Bean. Luckily I used a Bean Visa & do not pay to ship back. Very, very disappointed in Bean's quality and sizing the last few years.

Rated 4 out of 5 buttons
I love the shirt. Love the material and the fit but the pink, blue and white striped one should have pure white buttons not the yellowish colored buttons. Those buttons are ok on the shirt with yellow stripes but they look terrible on the pink one :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by TwoMuttMom Too big, not really "easy-care"
1) This shirt isn't true to size; everything else I've ordered from LL Bean in size XL fits me just fine, but this one is way too big on me. I kept it anyway, because I usually wear it under a sweater so the bagginess isn't obvious, but if I decide to order more colors, I'll order down at least one size.
2) As it comes out of the dryer, it's somewhat rumpled and really needs to be touched up with an iron to look its best.
3) One of the collar buttons was sewn in the wrong place and it made the front of the collar look twisted; I had to take it off and re-sew it in the right spot. Not such a big deal, but it just shows that quality control is lacking in this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TracyJ I Feel So Pretty
I have been a lover of Beans original cotton oxford for years, and just received the solid in lemon. Let me say that the color that is shown online does not do it justice! This shirt is lovely! It's a soft pastel yellow, not a butterscotch color like the photo shows. SO glad I ordered it! Thank you!!!

I love the color of this shirt which is a soft yellow. Love it! However it is huge on me and is going back for a smaller one. I am 5'2" and 180 pounds and the shirt came almost to my knees, no visible hands and the collar looks like it belongs on a men's big & tall shirt. I will love one in my size but find it annoying that I never know how things will fit.

Very disappointed in what continues to be an issue with sizing on this shirt. I have no less than 10 of these shirts and they all fit differently including the two I just bought. Problem with the two I just bought is the shirt tails are sooooo long it looks like I'm wearing my father's shirt when untucked and I feel like a stuffed sausage when tucked in. I bought 1X this time around because the two XLs I bought a couple of months ago are a bit tight in the bust. The XLs I bought years ago fit fine in the bust by the way. I have one 1X shirt that's a little roomy but it doesn't look too big so I thought I would try another 1X. Sleeve length, shoulder fit and bust are all good - length is smock like and it looks like I'm wearing a man's shirt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bangori Material is heavy
Returning this shirt. Very pretty. The material seems very heavy. It is soft. I live in the south. Much too heavy for our summers.
