I have these in the red special edition, and they are awesome. Not only do they look good, they kept my feet warm and dry during our last rainstorm. I got a full size down from my usual size and probably needed a wide but the medium width works good with thin socks, which are what I usually wear anyways. High quality boots and did I mention they are really cute and stylish? I'd like a pair in brown too! Once you find the size that fits you can't go wrong with these boots.

My aunt purchased a pair of these boots over 10 years ago and wore them every winter, as they wore, LL Bean repaired them for her. When she passed, they were left to me, and i swear by these boots! I've never owned a warmer, drier, more comfortable boot!

Rated 2 out of 5 by burtlakeboater So disappointed....
I was so excited to order these boots...they are SO CUTE...but dog gone it...they fit SO TIGHT and were SO DIFFICULT to put on & take off...I knew they would never work for me, so I had to send them back. I was SO DISAPPOINTED in the fit. If you are a 15 year old 100 lb. teenage girl with skinny feet they would work...but as an average grown woman....these boots run way too small for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by canadianwetfeet Ladies with wider feet/calves
First time order from Canada. So pleased with product and service-just excellent! I have a wider foot and calves so I was unsure of sizes. Here is what I found: my feet measure 9 inches long and at their widest points across 3 7/8 inches. My ankle/low calve is about 10 inches around. I wear a size nine in other shoes. A size 8 WIDE are very comfortable. The measurements of the outside of the boot itself are:10 1/4 long and 4 inches across, and the ankle area opens to app. 14 inches max depending on lacing. Bear in mind the footbed inside will be a touch smaller. What great phone service as well if you have any questions. Don't hesitate to order: all you Vancouverites with damp feet!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Swoozie Excellent, long-lasting boot, but get the Gore-Tex
I bought an older version of these boots over twenty years ago and they have lasted to this day. The leather comes somewhat stiff, so it will need a break in period, but once it is broken in, it feels great. I'd highly encourage putting a creme based water-repellent on the leather. L.L. Bean used to sell sno-seal for these and it worked great, although was a bit messy to apply. My original boots are still great; I haven't even had to get them resoled (an option LL Bean offers). HOWEVER, if you plan to wear these in even moderately cold weather, buy the Gore-Tex version. My feet get chilled to the bone in the regular version. I just bought a new Gore-Tex pair and hope they last over 20 years too, even though the old pair will still do great in mud and my garden.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TexasRancherLady Great Rain Boots!
I received these for Christmas last year and had been wanting them for a while.
I normally wear a size 9.5 and had to downsize to a 9. Since they were back ordered till February and I am somewhat impatient, I didn't send them back in when he 9's were still too big.
I would recommend going down at least 2 SIZES.
Besides the size, they are GREAT water proof shoes. I live and work on our family ranch and they are great for keeping my feet warm and dry. I always wear thick wool socks with them though, they can be a bit uncomfortable without the sock barrier.
*great investment overall. I am sure I will have them for many years. Great quality, as always from LLBEAN. :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by ebarr leather gusset on inside heel came unglued
Got these late last winter for Toronto's worst weather in years. They were great - too big, but ok with thick socks. This year, Toronto's got another dumping of snow, so I pulled out my trusty Reds... but somehow over the summer/spring (perhaps because i wore them undone a couple times?!) the leather gusset on the inside heel has come unglued on both boots causing bunching and overall uncomfortable boot - today walking home i got the start of blisters... So strange!
I can return them, but from Canada it'll cost me around $20 in shipping, so i might take them to a shoe maker to get the piece glued back down...
Has this happened to anyone else?!

I loved these boots from the first time I saw them but hesitated to purchase because of the price. After several months, a percent off offer and several Bean coupons I ordered them. When I first wore them the sewn in tongue was quite stiff and binding. This had been pointed out by other reviewers, so I was not entirely surprised. I wore them anyway as I love, love, love the red and did not want to return them. After several wearings I've found the leather is softening and conforming to my feet and it feels comfortable now. Although not lined they are warm with my wool socks and we've had unusually cold weather so far for Tennessee. Love my red boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by rae1993 Perfect!
I just received my bean boots in the mail after about a 3 month wait and I could not be more pleased! The fit is perfect and they look even better in person. My biggest concern was the size, as the website recommends ordering down a size. I am always a size 7, no matter what the brand. However, I did as the size chart said and ordered a size 6. They fit perfectly. They look great with LLBean's camp socks, too!
