This jacket is unique in its fit. There is a waistline created by the cut of the jacket and by the sewn-in "belt" across the back.
One reason I shop for many of my garments at LLBean is that so many items are available in petite proportions. This jacket in PL is a perfect fit for my 5'3" 150 lb self, and is roomy enough for a lightweight fleece or a wool sweater underneath in winter weather.
An added plus: I do not have to roll or shorten the sleeves.
I highly recommend this jacket.

The jacket is comfortable. Although I am short, 5"4", I choose the regular rather than petite style so that it would cover my lower back. It was a wise decision. The only thing that I don't like about the jacket is that it has two sets of snaps for the wrist. I prefer Velcro on the wrist as this allows for a more flexible fit.

This was a top quality jacket. It had some warmth to it and the fabric was so soft, with silky lined pockets. The hood has a velcro adjustment so it wasnt hanging over my face. I wear a 1x but ordered a 2x so I could put a sweater on under it.
Length of sleeve slightly long but I like that. I think my only complaint would be it had snaps and a front zipper. Just a zipper would suit me better. The adjustable snaps at the wrist were a nice feature. I ordered many jackets and this one worked great for touring Ireland.

Rated 4 out of 5áby serendipity7 great fabric, impractical pockets
Bought the teal jacket -- good fit, gorgeous color, and wonderfully soft fabric. Only complaint is the vertical pockets -- I like the look (vertical is "slimming", right?) but without a zipper to secure things, gloves and other items are destined to fall out.
Didn't have an opportunity to test out the waterproof quality.

Love this coat. It's roomy, well made, and the right length. I bought it for an upcoming trip to Ireland. I got to try it out yesterday in a downpour. I was completely dry when I got to my desk.

Rated 3 out of 5áby jessie32 not a great fit
The rain jacket was too tight across the shoulders. I bought it so I could wear it in the winter to shovel snow and put a fleece layer under it, but even without a layer you could hardly move your shoulders. The color was great and the rest fit good .

This jacket, though pricey, is wonderful for travel. It is just the right weight, fits over other clothes, blocks wind and repels rainwater very well. It fits nicely. The blue is a lovely color however I think the other color selections are not attractive. I hope LL Bean will continue to offer the coat for awhile until I can afford another one and will consider some more practical color selections.

Rated 3 out of 5áby LauraDC Very nice but...
It is very good fabric, a deep navy and looks stylish for a rain proof jacket. It is trim look with an adjustable waist and a good length. My major complaint is that for such a versatile travel jacket it only has two slash pockets. It makes no sense. In the inside there is a perfect place for a pocket. It looks like there is one there where the mesh ends but on closer examination it is not a pocket. It was very disappointing but I need it now so I did not return it.

If a rain jacket can be called elegant, this is it. The fabric has a wonderful feel, neither stiff nor sleazy.
The fit is true to size and the color spot-on.
