Kudos to LL Bean for this jacket. I walk my dog in all weather, even in a downpour, and needed a jacket that doesn't leak. I have worn this in rain and came home dry everywhere the jacket covers, so it did the job as advertised.
Usually I wear a women's size L petite, but ordered a size XL petite so I could wear it over a heavy sweatshirt or sweater. It fit perfectly with all the extra layers I had on during a recent cold snap in the 20s. The sleeves are just the right length, long enough to cover the top of my gloves.
I love the front snaps and use them instead of the zipper.
The interior pocket is a nice touch for securing documents when traveling, or for keeping dog treats dry.
All in all, this is a superlative garment.

Originally bought the large because the reviews said it was a relaxed fit. Wrong. Had to return it for the X-large. It is form fitted around the waist and relaxed in the thighs and shoulders. I like the color and the fact that it does repel heavy rain very well. I have had a number of compliments on the jacket and have been wearing it often. A light sweater underneath is perfect for 50 degree weather.

For over 20 years, my favorite travel rain gear was a red LL Bean anorak. After a trip to Ireland last year, and planning for this year's visit to Budapest, I wanted something with a zipper and a little longer. The reviews on this fabulous rain jacket were so helpful. Loved the pink/purple color, hood, pockets and foldability. Whether climbing the hills of Buda, or having dinner al fresco along the Danube (even in late October), the jacket served me well. Koszonom!.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LakeErie12 perfect fit, sheds rain, well made
I like it, just what I have been searching for. Think you will like this too, I like the fit since it can be so hard to find clothes today that are true to size. The material sheds the rain well, it had a good test the day after I received it and I was happy with the results. It has a classy look, many complements on the coat,

Based on others reviews, I got the petite and the sleeves are perfect. The hood is adjustable, so not sure why anyone was complaining about it being too big and not being able to see out because of the size. I have only worn it in the drizzle so far but wanted it for a future trip to Alaska. I like the snaps over the zipper and also the adjustable wrist snaps to keep out the wind and rain. I also like others have mentioned - would have liked either zippered or snapped pockets and perhaps another interior pocket. Very rarely can one find a jacket that meets all the criteria one wants and after comparing this to the gore-tex one (my husband owns one of these and loves it) decided on this one for me. I will agree the waist is a bit short but I did order a petite. I don't think you can go wrong with this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lilragmuffinasakid Very comfortable, waterproof and great fit!
Needed a nice jacket that did not get me wet during rainy weather. This was an excellent choice. I also wear it as an additional layer with sweaters or hoodies for warmth, even when not raining. No regrets in purchasing this product. I think it will be very useful on my next cruise to Alaska in the summer. I like how the hood is adjustable for my head too.

Look at the picture of the jacket above. The sleeves are NOT longer than the jacket. The sleeves for the Petite jacket were longer than the hem. I put it on and looked very silly. I also purchased at the same time some jeans that were regular length as they fit better than the petites. ...so I'm not a terribly short person, nor are my arms. I once saw an ad for a petite fit model. must be 5' 6" ... THAT'S NOT PETITE, nor was this jacket. I'm trying to replace a probably 12 year old jacket that I love, it's a Petite XS. But I can still get heavy sweaters under it. But, I can't get it clean anymore. LLBean is not the only manufacturer that is skimping on petites. Just to be fair. I have returned a lot of jackets this season for the same reason. Also, the fabric sounded like an old rubber raincoat I used to have. Noisy. Nice color, tho.

I bought this jacket to take to Europe and was very pleased with my choice. The fit is true to size and yes, it's sure is waterproof.
For chilly days, I just added a medium weight wool sweater and I was good to go!

I love the silky feel of the fabric, and I wore it in The Orkney Islands in September and it kept me completely dry. It's very attractive and doesn't look like a "raincoat" - it looks like a vey nice parka. I really love the deep blue color of it also.

The pleasing colors attracted me. I ordered two--the Bright Clover and the Dark Orchid. The large fit nicely with a shirt or a shirt and light sweater. The extra-large fit nicely with a medium-weight sweater. Two especially nice features of this jacket are the adjustable sleeve lengths and the two-way zippers.
