Rated 5 out of 5áby PattyLou Rain Jacket
I love this rain jacket! I have an LL Bean rain jacket that I have worn for over 15 years and it was time for a new one. When I could not get the color I wanted in my size for the LL Bean rain jacket I started to look in other stores. I could not find anything I liked as much as LL Bean rain jackets. I finally decided I would place an order with LL Bean, even though it would be a back order, and wait for what I really wanted. It took about 8 weeks to finally get my jacket but it was well worth it. I love it. Especially the color!!!

I looked everywhere to find this jacket with the quick fasten snaps down the front instead of the Velcro found on all other jackets. Small issue, but I have found the Velcro really doesn't stay fastened, snags other clothes & gets gummed up with lint, etc. I have worn it multiple times now. The fit is great. I am 5'2, 130 lbs. The Reg. Med. allows enough room for a sweater underneath. The sleeve length (adjustable snaps) is fine and shoulder and hips fit fine. As always great quality from LLBean and I know I will enjoy this for a long time. Also, I really like this shade of navy, it is on the blue-ish side, very pretty.

This jacket is smaller than my previous one and a different fabric. I returned it.

I bought this jacket for our Pacific Northwest winters. Rainy but not too cold. The jacket claims to be waterproof and breathable. It does appear to be waterproof, but the breathablilty is marginal. If you never break a sweat you will be OK in this jacket. The sleeves are a bit long and close with a snap. They cannot be closed sufficiently to stop wind and rain from blowing into the sleeves. You get two options to close them. Too loose and way too loose. It does have a two way zipper, that's a plus. This one will be going back.

Great fabric -- windproof, rainproof, lightweight and not repulsively squeaky or shiny. Wore it for the first time on a Fall weekend when the weather varied between 50 degrees and windy to 70 and rainy, and I was relatively comfortable throughout, with just a long-sleeved knit shirt beneath. (Another layer would have been better in the chillier hours.) Not crazy about the fit. In an attempt to give it a more "feminine" look, LLBean's designers sewed a belt-like horizontal panel into the back. This makes it a bit snug at the waist for me, but it's acceptable. I'd rather have a waistline that I can wear loose or snug in at will. The real reason for denying this coat five stars is the pockets. There are only two on the outside and they are shallow and slanted, totally inadequate. (A third inside pocket is hard to reach and not very useful.) My car keys felt unsafe in them and they were too small for my sunglasses. I have another LLBean lightweight jacket that has four exterior pockets, two with zippers and two with Velcro. An arrangement like that would increase the utility of this coat enormously.

Beautiful color. As usual, I tried to order 2 of these, one in Large, one in XL. The XL is not available until the end of January! This happens all the time with LL Bean---that and the inconsistency of sizes that leads me to have to order two sizes to begin with. I could wear this jacket with just a t-shirt underneath but would need the XL to layer with anything else. Since my trip will be over by January,I have had to look elsewhere and return my LL Bean purchase. I'm sure that this is a great jacket and the color was perfect. I hesitate to order from LL Bean these days as it seems the out of stock problem is ongoing. Why is it that this does not happen with other companies? We expect better from LL Bean. .

Rated 4 out of 5áby Brooklynish Not as good as Gortex, but great for the price
This jacket is fine for city wear walking the dogs. I would not want to take it backpacking, it does not seem to be waterproof the way Gortex is. It seems highly water resistant.
The fit is very flattering, though, which is why I like it for city wear. It takes about 10 pounds off of me by some magic.
Also, I love the color (purple), it's richer than the photos show.

Rated 3 out of 5áby KarenR Narrow shoulders
Seems like a great jacket, but the shoulders are really narrow. I wasn't even wearing an extra layer yet. I got an XL which is usually plenty big with room for layers under but now it looks like I will have to try a 1x, which is $10 more! It's too bad because the rest fits perfectly and it very flattering.

Rated 5 out of 5áby 2cutedogs Comfortable, waterproof and stylish!
Love this coat! It is just what I was looking for. It is waterproof and functional in addition to stylish. This coat can take on the elements and it looks sleek enough to wear out on date or to the office. Has a great fit, true to size and is tapered at the waist so it is complementary. Highly recommend the investment!

This jacket is unique in its fit. There is a waistline created by the cut of the jacket and by the sewn-in "belt" across the back.
One reason I shop for many of my garments at LLBean is that so many items are available in petite proportions. This jacket in PL is a perfect fit for my 5'3" 150 lb self, and is roomy enough for a lightweight fleece or a wool sweater underneath in winter weather.
An added plus: I do not have to roll or shorten the sleeves.
I highly recommend this jacket.
