by 70young Wonderful casual summer jacket with one exception!
I began wearing this Freeport Field Jacket the day after receiving it and found the fit to be perfect. However, within 15 minutes, the back of my neck developed an irritation that got to be intolerable because of the scratchy polyester label sewn inside the neckband . These labels should be banned! They are woven polyester that are heat-sealed at the edges which make the edges quite sharp. Unfortunately I didn't have scissors handy to cut off the label so by the time I got home 5 hours later, the nape of my neck felt like it had a hundred paper cuts. I'm really surprised the buyers or QA people at LL Bean did not notice this flaw in an otherwise very nice garment. The solution was simple - just cut off the label - but I learned it the hard way.

Love this jacket , this is my 2nd Freeport field jacket as I also have the lined jacket in camouflage print . This time I went a size up because of a little weight gain. I wish I could still get the camouflage jacket because I would upgrade the size in that too. It's perfect it's very area there is except I was expecting the color to have more gray in it and it appears to be more dark green than any gray at all , other than the color it's perfect . 5stars

Fabulous jacket! I wasn't certain of the sizing, so I purchased a petite small in olive gray and a regular small in the light almond. The petite small was a perfect fit for me. For sizing reference, I am 5'2", 32D and 130 lbs. A regular small was just a little too big overall.
The olive gray is a lovely color. Gives a military inspired look which I really love. The jacket is light enough for spring with enough room for lighter layers. I wasn't crazy about the light almond color and was hoping for a more khaki color for a safari inspired look. The color just missed my expectations.
The overall quality is excellent. Lots of details with pockets.
I get many compliments and can dress up or down. Great for office or running errands. A real winner!

I actually saw this item at my local store and decided to try it on. I was looking for a stylish jacket in a neutral color with lots of pockets that would be good for travel. It looked great on - very stylish, great fit - absolutely adorable! I felt chic! However, it is true that the pockets are useless except for small items. My cell phone does not even fit in the largest pocket. It is also quite expensive, in my opinion, for the weight and usefulness. As a result I did not make the purchase. However, I could not stop thinking about it, once I got home. So the debate began. In the end, I decided that the pros outweighed the cons, and I returned to the store to purchase one. I did have a $10 coupon which made the cost slightly more reasonable. I am 5 foot 4, 35 inch chest, 29 inch wait, 39 inch hip. I usually wear a 4-6 top and 6-8 bottom at LL Bean , depending on the cut of the item. I carry my weight in my hips and thighs. I purchased an XS Regular in Mineral Red, and it is fitted while still being comfortable. The small had too much material in the chest area and I had to cinch the waist too much to make it look right. I can wear it over a tee , button down shirt or lightweight sweater. The Mineral Red is not red - more of a salmon color - but very pretty! I decided for a pop of color instead of a neutral. I would wear it every day if I could! The material is lightweight and the zipper is not heavy, but I know that if I have any issues, LL Beans stands behind their products 100%!

I really like this jacket, it is great for a casual look on mild spring days. It is unlined but loose enough to wear a sweater underneath. I like how you can cinch it at the waist for a more feminine look, and all the pockets. For reference, I am 5'1", 125lbs, and a small petite fits perfectly with a little extra room for layers underneath.

I now have three of these shirt-jackets which go with anything, all year long. I could easily be tempted to purchase a 4th if it is made available in black. I had to exchange the print jacket because it was a bit smaller than the regular jacket. It does need ironing.

LADIES grab this while you can. This is a winner for LLBean. Wow. Great addition to a wardrobe as a fun, cute, pull-it-together item. I'm 5'4 and 120 lbs. and the XS fit great. I bought the white and I love it. Instantly. I love lots of pockets and a cinch waist. Throw this on with a pair of nice trouser jeans and sandals and voila - outfit for many occasions.

This jacket is a soft, lightweight twill--the perfect weight to wear as a spring or summer blazer. I have it in light blue and stone, and have worn them to work often for over a year. I pin the stand collar back to create lapels. I'm 5'2", 129 lbs. and I wear the Petite Small over a t-shirt. Jackets wash well, look great right out of the dryer, and have great pockets for all my work stuff. I'm getting a third one in white right now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LieutenantShopper perfect for SW Florida
Although many reviews say the fabric is thin, for Florida it is perfect.
I bought the lilac colour, it is nicely tailored, the style better than what the local shops are offering. For cool mornings on what will be a hot day, perfect!
