Rated 5 out of 5 by SamStan Perfect Versatile Jacket
This is now my favorite jacket. It is versatile, comfortable, and flattering. It looks great both zipped and unzipped. Also, like other reviewers have mentioned, it is lightweight (but that's a plus for me!) because it's easy to layer good for all seasons.I was worried the sleeves would not be large enough to layer without being tight, but the arms are comfortable and roomy.
For reference, I am 25/ 5'9"/ curvy and ordered a size L

It is light weight as it says but perfect. I ordered the Muted Blue and fell in love with the minute I saw the color. I wear a plus size and it fits perfect. It is everything they said it is.

Nice jacket, fit is true to size. Flattering. However, I was so disappointed with the plum color, I sent it back. The plum is nowhere near the color in the photo. It's more on the cool scale versus the warm, rich jewel tone shown online. It's very washed out looking compared to the pic. It was "ick". It was dull as well, no sheen on the fabric. This would be a nicer looking jacket in another color. The fabric is thin. It is meant to be worn over a light layer. It's not a field jacket. It's a fashion garment meant for 70+ degrees. It's an outer layer for slightly cool days. All in all I would purchase again in the stone color if the price is discounted to 50% off as it is overpriced for the weight of the fabric. It is well made and attractive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sparrow2 where's the jacket?
I should have listened to the reviews on this jacket. Flimsy material. (More like a shirt) small cheap zipper.
Not what you would expect on a jacket at all, especially at this price. Worst L.L.Bean purchase ever. On its way back.

I really loved this light-weight jacket, but had to return it because it did not have a 2-way zipper which is a feature I require in all my jackets and coats. Other than that, I liked the style and fit (2x), and the island coral color was gorgeous.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DesertDenizen Cute Jacket
This jacket is attractive and good for our slightly cool fall weather in the south. However, I found the Medium snug with sleaves too long.I wish you would do less fitting at the waist as this jacket has a draw cord so the snugness should not be necessary. I am 5'1' and weigh 125 lb. I purchased a Medium petite. A little ease in a jacket is desirable as it is at least worn with a blouse. Have not washed nor worn this item.

I really wanted to like this jacket, but here is what I don't like:
Very lightweight - fabric does not seem substantial enough; and it gets very slouchy very fast
Facing inside the front of the jacket does not stay flat, even after I iron it
No slash pockets
I still wear it, but it is not what I had hoped for in this type of jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KasieB Refined "Military Field Jacket"
I've never been one to really follow fashion/fads however at 46 I find myself taking more of an interest. I'd like to look on trend without looking ridiculous. I've tried this style of jacket at several retailers and the look was just too young...a little too "grunge".
This jacket fit the bill perfectly! I got the dark olive color, totally on trend for the season. The styling is genius from the fabric to the fit. It has the military field jacket thing going on while at the same time being fitted (but not too), lots of pockets (but not billowing/dumpy). I purchased this with the intention of wearing it with everything from jeans to skirts and it looks fab.
Quality fabric and construction. A nice lightweight cotton twill that hangs perfectly. I received it this afternoon and already washed/dried it. I wash everything before wearing.
Fit details: I'm 5'6, 130 lbs, 34DD, not fat by any means but carry a little pudge in my low belly area. This was my first purchase with LLBean and was hoping I ordered the correct size. I wanted to be able to wear at least a medium weight sweater underneath and also wanted to account for any shrinkage in the wash. I ordered a size MED and it was a little roomy, sleeves a tiny bit long. I zipped/snapped and then did the arm stretch thing. Perfect, a little roomy. After a cold water delicate wash and dryer on delicate it shrunk just ever so slightly. Which means the shoulder seams sit exactly where they should. Perfectly fitted look, even with a mid wt sweater underneath. Comfy. Oh! Came right out of the dryer with no wrinkles...YAY! I don't iron...EVER!
Extremely pleased with my purchase!

Rated 3 out of 5 by pursuetruth I consider this a shirt, NOT a jacket
Please be aware before you purchase this that it is very lightweight.
The photo gives the appearance of a jacket that has weight to it- it does not. I never expected it to be a winter jacket, don't get me wrong, but I have denim jackets that are warmer and more constructed than this.
For me it ran very true to size. Even if it was the weight I wanted,
I am not a fan of the mandarin collar, which I didn't notice before my purchase.
IF YOU WANT A SHIRT WITH A LOT OF POCKETS, this is a nice one for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Wings23 Decent jacket, just not for me
I love to wear nice jackets like this one for in between weather, when it is cooler during part of the day than others. I wear them over another layer and then can take off when it gets warmer. This one looks so pretty in the plum color. The plum is a little darker in person than online. It is true to other LLBean sizing for jackets and blazers. You can wear a light sweater under it. The waist is slightly fitted but not too tight. Smooth soft material in a medium weight. But like another blazer I tried, the neck on this is built very narrow, so that as I start to button it up I feel like I am wearing half of a tight turtleneck (on the sides). The stand up collar is also shorter than mandarin collars LLBean has had in the past. That might be ok if I actually wanted my collar to stand up, but I like to fold it over and it feels and looks funny when you do that on this jacket. So if you like the tighter mandarin collar thing, this might work for you, otherwise, I would look elsewhere.
