This sweater is less "preppy" and more feminine and flowing. Could be worn at the office or out for dinner. I got it in white and it looks great with black slacks and any jewel-colored top. Nice option to the crew necks and typical cardigans.

I think I forgot to mention in my review that this sweater is 60% cotton and 40% rayon. Since I neglected to make a copy of my review, I think I also forgot to say that the reference to Wikipedia was about their article on rayon.
There - you are now informed.

This is the sweater that made me finally break down and buy my very first open-style cardigan.
I had never wanted one before because they reminded me of the royal robes of Tudor kings and princes, just hanging there, over-sized, and intimidating (think of Hans Holbein's portrait of Henry VIII or his more diminutive son Edward VI by William Scrots).
But there is something about this sweater that gives it a graceful, feminine air, as shown on the model wearing the grey sample. Maybe it's the horizontal empire seam that makes it appear more fitted; maybe it's the way the sweater curves with the model's figure that makes it look more shapely - all I know is that THIS is the sweater I wanted.
I also needed a sweater long enough to cover my favorite longer Pima shirts - my "Poor Poet's Shirt" (284038), my "Grab'n Go/ Easy Breezy Shirt" (287789), and my newest one, the Keyhole Scoopneck (289009). Haven't had time to think of a nickname for the last one, but I'm assuming that "Teardrop of a Clown" won't get any votes.
The fabric is extremely lightweight, almost delicate. I would not wash it in a machine with an agitator. I would not put it in a dryer. To paraphrase Wikipedia, it has the same comfort as a natural fiber, but the drape and slipperiness of a synthetic.
Wearing the grey one over one of my favorite Bean Tees, the beautiful pale aqua and blue floral pattern showed through. And that didn't bother me a bit! The black one, like the grey one, a Petite XS, covered the Keyhole shirt, which only came in a Regular XS.
I love to hold this sweater close when wearing it and I must admit I feel like I'm wearing my own pretty little royal robe.

I am so pleased that I bought this sweater recently. It's just perfect as a cover-up in air conditioning or on cool nights. It's also very pretty and adds a little pizzaz to any outfit. I got it in black which is very handy.

The texture is very interesting and the look is elegant and casual at the same time. I'd like to buy this piece in many other colors!

I love the color of this cardigan which is why I got it. It is a great weight and definitely is a three season cardigan. The way the sleeves are designed, it probably will be the right arm length for anyone. I give it a thumbs up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoJoshopper A little long but beautiful!
I bought a size Small Petite in the Blue Thistle color. I am 5'1" tall. The fit is perfect. Not too tight or loose and slimming. Beautiful summer weight, light and soft material. The two sides meet in front if I want, good coverage even though I'm bigger on top than on bottom. The Blue Thistle color is gorgeous! In person, it's slightly brighter than it is on my computer. But not too bright. It's a perfect color because it brightens up your outfit, while still being a fairly neutral color that goes with a lot of other colors. The only hesitation I have is the length in front. I think for Petites, just one or two inches shorter would have been best. The two sides taper down at a diagonal in front, a bit lower than the rest. For petite ladies, that is not the best look. For medium-tall ladies, it's fine. Anyway, my husband really likes it, especially when I wear heels with it. And it is so nice in every other aspect, I'm keeping it. I hope LLBean continues to come out with more feminine basics for us. Very attractive!

This sweater is lovely. It skims my body, hides many flaws and looks so very nice!!! Goes with jeans or skirts. It feels nice too. I haven't washed it yet, so we'll see on that aspect. For reference, I range in size between medium and large, 5'6", 155#, pear shape and the Large is perfect. The sleeves are narrow, so I don't think this would go over anything with loose sleeves. It works well with tee shirts, probably would be okay with a long sleeve tee or thin sweater. I chose the light gray and its a pretty good neutral. I wish they had navy. If they go on sale I might try the black, but I really want navy. Anyway, I'm very happy with this purchase.
