Thanks LLBean for this lovely sweater! I have been on a hot hunt for a cotton Fisherman style sweater. I found it! I can't wear wool. Ordered a Medium in Natural instead of Small. Other reviewers recommended sizing up. I am 5'7" and between 130-135 lbs. Medium works great. Tempted to order a different color.

i read the reviews saying this sweater ran small so i ordered it in an XL. arrived yesterday and am extremly happy. it is so beautiful, got it in heather gray. i am 5'2", 135 lbs. and it fits great. the sleeves do come down long, and the sweater covers my butt, but i like that in a winter sweater. the knit is gorgous, the pictures cannot do it justice. worth every penny. i would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great cold weather sweater. i absolutly love it! thanks again LLbean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveArt Lovely! Flattering, Versatile
First of all, I have weakness to Fisherman sweaters. I am between size 2 to 4 , generally wear size 4 to accommodate my broad shoulders and long torso. But I buy size S in LLBean, Seems to fit me better even though I fall into XS according to the size chart. I got NAVY in size S , the fit was perfect with good amount of room. Very versatile and the shape is flattering. I love the crew neck version as well and have them in three colors. Definately my favorite collectible sweaters!

Rated 4 out of 5 by llbeanershopaholic wow, it is sized small!
Ignoring other reviews stating this sweater was sized small, I went ahead and ordered a medium. I am a size 10/12 and wanted a fitted sweater look. Yeah, it was fitted. The buttons looked like they were going to pop off, and it got even tighter after I washed and air dried it. I then ordered a large which fit much better. It drapes nicely when unbuttoned and looks decent and fitted when buttoned. I've had no issues with piling, and am overall very pleased with this sweater now that I have the proper size. The light gray is a gorgeous color.

But not nearly as nice as the Stitchworks sweater of the same size that I bought not too long before this one. That sweater's fit is perfect, sweater construction is impeccable, and the petite length is just right. This Coveside sweater is a great dark navy color, just what I wanted for a non-jacket piece to wear to the office. BUT, the fit is so so, and the feel of the knit not nearly as awesome as the Stitchworks dark violet that I have. I like this one well enough not to send it back, but I sure don't love it. I was very impressed that the Stitchworks sweater, though made in China, is very well made; this one, also made in China, not so much. Sigh; but that's what we're stuck with I guess--inconsistency is the only reliable factor in buying clothing from formerly reliable sources anymore. Note: regardless of sweater quality, expect the very nice buttons on your sweater to begin popping off quite soon due to insufficient stitching; another modern development apparently.

I own 2 of these sweaters. One in natural and one in ember. I have gone back and forth about sizes. The large was too tight and the extra large I thought was too large. But once washed or dry-cleaned the XL fit better. I usually wear a large. Love the sweaters. I bought my daughter a natural in the pullover for Christmas. She loved hers too. Please continue to have these sweaters and keep the natural, navy, and gray colors always.

I ordered a petite med in the coral color. I'm 5'2" and 120 lbs and the sleeve length is to my wrist and the length is to the top of my hips. It's not too tight or loose. If I went smaller, the arms would be too tight for sure. I love the color and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ilovebooks Great classic style in cotton!
I have this cardigan in the regular navy and also the novelty stitch and love them both. I'm not a wool fan so it's really nice to see well-made, classic styles in cotton. I agree with other reviewers that the novelty stitch runs a little larger than the solid color. It's also a softer, looser knit. Both are very nice. For size reference, I'm slender (5'5"/105#) and got the XS regular. Both are roomy enough to layer over a tee, button down, turtleneck, light sweater, etc. - although the solid version is a little more fitted, as mentioned, I'm considering the mallard color next, but would really like to see more neutral and classic colors (gray, brown, burgundy, camel, etc.).

I am head-over-heals in love with this sweater! I ordered it in the cream, and it looks just like one of those $100 Irish sweaters that are made of wool and have to be dry-cleaned. But this sweater is of the softest, coziest cotton (which does NOT have to be dry-cleaned like wool). The cable design is gorgeous. I love my Coveside cardigan so much that I ordered the Coveside pullover sweater, too! I am hopeful that next season, LL Bean will bring the Coveside sweaters back and add even more colors: made a hot pink???
