Rated 5 out of 5 by Jeanniespicks I love this raincoat
I Just received this raincoat. I am very pleased with the fit, material and how light weight the coat is. I got the PM, I am 5'3" and a 140 lbs. It is a tiny bit roomy but If I had a blazer on underneath it would be perfect. I am keeping it. I travel a lot and need something that packs well..This is perfect. I am very please with this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Whittington Great raincoat
Thank you, LLBean, for FINALLY having my size (2P)!!!!!
The raincoat fits NICELY (at LAST -- one for ME!!). It also seems to be quite waterproof (although I haven't had it out in any real gulley washers yet...) and a nice length, offering more coverage for walking and biking. The lining could stand to be a bit warmer for serious chill (eg <60 deg F)-- but ok for cool summer evenings. The coat makes me smile and gets lots of compliments.

Rated 1 out of 5 New is not always improved
I own LLBean H2Off coats with removable liners and removable hoods that are now quite old. Because they have served me well in many weather conditions/climate, and varied situations from moderate hiking to attending the theater, I decided to buy the new version in preparation for an upcoming trip. Big mistake. Although usually I am an LLBean medium-size, this coat runs much smaller than expected. Despite my quite average build I could barely get the coat zipped. Overall the cut and fit are very narrow/straight aside from the peculiar lower-back vent, yet the sleeves are too long. A drawstring cinch and band across the back waist make matters worse. Such a close fitting, defined placement of the waist means the coat must sit quite precisely on the body to be comfortable. Wish it weren't so, but this coat is going back ASAP.

Rated 3 out of 5 by bschenen Well some really great features...
I love the H2Off material... It's sleek, doesn't wrinkle and even looks elegant. I have had the long version of this coat with a wool liner for quite a number of years and really love it... so I chose to waterproof it a couple of years ago rather than get a new one, as I did not like the styling of the newer long trench at the time. I really like the primaloft lining of this raincoat and it's easy zip in and out ..but the styling just doesn't work for me... the correct size is just too bulky on top and the drawstring even when left loose is an unflattering horizontal where the coat pulls in and is just too tight... so it's really unflattering, Odd cut. Not sure what the deal is with that vertical pleat in back. Looks odd to me. If it started at the shoulders, that would make more sense. As it is it's curiously like a bustle. Wish this coat had the nice clean A-line design of the Trail Model raincoat. With all the great features of this one. Then it would be perfect. In the meantime, this goes back and I'll wait to see if Bean puts this through another style change and we can get along once again. Please, Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 30yearsofBean very nice coat, but not as warm as advertised
I really like the coat but there is no way this coat would be warm enough to wear in -15 degree weather. I would like to see a warmer lining. I had the previous version of this coat and it was substantially heavier and warmer. But this coat looks nice and fits well (5'4", 130 and the petite small fits perfectly).

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kwick Keeps me dry, BUT...
Bought this item after looking everywhere for a WaterProof coat that is insulated and also long enough to Not let water drain onto my thighs like most Parkas do.
It does keep me dry but the liner Barely keeps me warm at 40 degrees F. The material feels Thin & Cheap (chintzy). I usually wear Medium in L.L.Bean clothing, but the Med. in this item was Too Tight in the hips and "Puffed Out" in the front giving me a Bigger Belly Look. I went up to a Large, but still it will only allow for a very thin sweater underneath. Last of all, Bad Pocket Design. There are No inside pockets at all. On the outside only 2 hip-level pockets and they have no zippers or proper flaps to keep out water.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AudreyK Too warm, too cold, dry, great hood
My city commute includes a 10-15 minute walk/wait at each end, and I was looking for a coat that would keep me dry and undisheleved in a New England rainstorm. I bought the mesh-lined version of this coat last spring and found it almost impossible to wear in any warm or humid weather (too hot underneath, and not really 'breathable.'. I thought the Primaloft version, with its rating of "warmer to -15 degrees" would be good for winter rains, but I wore it just now in 40 degree rain, over a light wool sweater, and found it didn't really warm enough for today. I have a feeling that if I bundled up underneath, the not-very-breathable fabric would leave me a little sweaty but somehow still cold. So it seems that for this part of the world there's a fairly narrow band of conditions in which these coats will work, and a lot of rainy Boston weather on either side. On the plus side, these coats do keep you dry, but you'll literally be dripping water (so just be prepared for that). What I love about these coats is the hood -- I have shoulder-length hair that gets frizzy in humidity, and the hood and high collar let me tuck my hair inside and keep it dry - I can even walk without an umbrella.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NewBrunswicker Nice colour and fabric
I just received this coat as an exchange for a previous H2Off waterproof whose waterproofing failed to last through one laundering (appropriate instructions were followed). Unfortunately, the pattern has changed since I bought the last coat and is now quite different. Although I like the style, I found it too tight to accommodate my wearing a sweater comfortably, as well as being snug in the hips. I had ordered a Medium Regular which I thought would fit my 5 ft. 4 inch 138 lb frame. I am returning it, to exchange it for a Petite Large which I hope will fit better. I like the design of the coat, as well as the fabric and the wine colour. I certainly enjoyed my previous raincoat which kept me nice and dry - until it was laundered and lost the magic (sigh!). I hope my exchange will live up to my expectations, and to its fairly substantial price tag! Fingers crossed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by MNL1 Overpriced and skimpy
Runs small in the torso and large and long in the sleeves. Too thin and insubstantial for cold weather and too tight to wear warm layers underneath. Surprising lack of quality and workmanship considering the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PatfromSequim Not the comfy fit of my last H2OFF 3/4 length
I have had a shorter version of this coat for a few years, and it has started to get a little worn looking after about 4 years, not bad, I've worn it a lot. Thought it was time for a new one in a slightly different color for a little variety. Unfortunately the coat is not nearly as comfortable as the jacket, though appeared to be very similarly styled. If anything the old 3/4 length is a little roomy, room for sweaters etc,, while still not looking like a sack, because of the detailing. It was not lined and the coat is lined. Without the lining it is a little more roomy, but still not as comfortable, so back it goes. Also the color looks more blue than I expected - vs the navy in the picture - not crazy about the color. Free shipping here, but not back.
