Rated 4 out of 5 by flite H2OFF rain jacket
I purchased this jacket with the removable primaloft liner for a trip to Ireland in May.Since I own an older coat length version I know that it will be warm and water proof. The jacket is heavier than I expected, but the fit is good - at 5'4", 145 lbs. the petite medium is perfect. I also like the double zipper feature and that was probably high on my list for purchasing this product. It would be great if LLBean made more items with double zippers which gives a bit more room in the hip area if needed. Would recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bonitaismyname Why is SNUG fit necessary in outerwear???
I was **sooo** excited to find an insulated rain jacket that did NOT have velcro (which sticks to silk & fleece, ruining some). LOVE the 2-way zipper to.
But was soooo very disappointed upon wearing for the first time today. Yes, I only now read other comments about the fabric - noisy is right, and not nicely flexible - stiff and not at all friendly. Construction is quite nice, but it's just not a pleasant walk - not a comfortable garment.
WHY is it necessary to have all the "hourglass" design, princess seams and fitted "trendy" design in outerwear????? With bulky clothing I do not have a waist and do not want a "waist" - I want to be comfortable, with generous fit for maximum freedom of movement - with no velcro.
Like a few others said - I shall continue to wear my OLD ones - which are comfortable, serviceable (some 25+ years) - these new things just do not compare.
Very disappointed -

Rated 4 out of 5 by 3721pmv Not a good fit
Bought this to replace my 4 year old one. Much improved. Well constructed. But was too snug in the hip area (ordered same size as my old one). Also didn't care for the green color. Reluctantly sent it back yesterday...

Rated 5 out of 5 by senior1234 great waterproof light weight jacket
Living in Tenn, I needed a light weight jacket that I could use both in the rain and on a breezy, chilly day. This jacket fits the bill. I was delighted to find a petite jacket. I'm 5'2" with short arms. I purchased a Med petite with the Primaloft lining. But it ran a little too snug so I exchanged it for a large petite. The arm length is perfect and the jacket length came down over my hips. It fits beautifully even over a large sweater.
The wrinkles were many when I took it out of the package. I didn't want to iron them out. So I put it in the dryer on the lowest heat with a wet towel for 5 min. It is now wrinkle free and so soft. I had a chance to try it out in the freezing rain and it never leaked. I am very pleased with this jacket and recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NYgal good enough not perfect
Bought this mainly due to the removeable lining, needed something to wear for a January trip to Florida from the North. The only drawbacks are that the hood is not removeable (but that came in handy during a 3" rainfall), and after taking out the lining, there are NO inside pockets - which I like for security purposes. The jacket kept me very dry during the rainstorm (though the water dripped right down onto my pants!). The other drawback is that the sleeves are not lined (ie isulated) so I can't really wear it in winter - though, the sleeves are wide enough to wear a heavier sweater. It is suitable for its purpose but could be improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MomDee Rain Jacket for college
This was a christmas present for my daughter. She loves it! It has a lining for cold weather that can be removed during warmer weather. It fits well and still has room for bulky sweaters in the winter time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Springlover2 Didn't know I needed a raincoat till got this one
I initially wanted a soft-shell parka -- around 28" long (the center line from collar to bottom in the back), soft to the touch, drapes well, nice-looking and water- wind-stopping. I ended at buying this rain jacket. I never thought that I actaully needed a rain jacket. But once bought, it became irreplaceable. My objection to raincoats in general is that they are clammy and cumbersome to wear. LLBean has done a good job in making its H2off fabric breathe. I saw another reviewer complaining about it being not breath enough in the summer. My guess is that the jacket breathes much better when temperature outside is lower than inside, in 30-40 degree weather. Fortunately, I plan to use this jacket only in winter and spring/fall. I have looked around for other products and other brands. This parka-length jacket is the best in fit and style. I like the collar to lie flat, unlike most sporty jackets. Also I want my parka to be light and versatile. The drawcord on the waist helps to wear the parka alone or with heavy layers, without leaving a too big gap at the bottom to let cold air in. For reference, I usually wear a Small in LLBean outwear and Medium in LLBean shirts. My only disastifaction is that when I looked at the inside of the fabric, it looks like rubber. The label says that it is nylon, but it looks the same to me as the raincoat materials in the old days. The idea that I am actually wearing a raincoat, even when it is not raining, bothers me a little bit. But the jacket keeps me warm (in 34 degree or above), looks and feels like a soft shell. I have actually considered buying LLBean softshell coat before buying this jacket. But the softshell coat seems to have too small arm holes to accomadate heavy layers and its length too long for taking fast walks. I hope that LLBean will one day make a real soft-shell parka of the same cutting as this rain jacket, so that customers have an option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CyclingCityGirl Perfect fit, cute style
I just received this and it fits perfectly! I am a petite small, and the jacket is well proportioned for my frame. It is a little roomy for a sweater or light fleece underneath, but it does not look boxy or baggy at all. I like how you can adjust the waist and hood. I ordered the teal, and although it is a little brighter than what is shown online, it is not overly so. I'm glad for the added visibility since I plan to wear it when out walking in the rain.
