I love this jacket! I just wore it traveling through Ireland for 10 days. Temperatures where in the mid 50s to lower 60s. I never did take out the lining. It was a perfect weight coat over a light sweater. Rain beaded up and rolled right off. The jacket has a lovely feel to it. It will be my fall go-to jacket in Ohio. I am 5' 1" tall and weight 115. Lbs with more hips than bust. The petite xs fit perfect.

I love this jacket. It is practically perfect in every way. I am tall at almost 6 feet, and plus sized, and thick around the middle (apple shaped), so I worried that I wouldn't be able to use the drawstring cords to create any shape. Not so. I'm able to cinch in the waist a bit, and that creates an A line shape at the bottom, which is flattering, and I think would be flattering as well to people who are larger in the hip area (pear shapes).
The quality is fantastic. LLBean did not skimp on any of the materials, and the fabric and finishes are without fault. I love quality and am willing to pay more for it. This jacket is worth every penny.
I love the styling of the jacket with the sewn in belt piece on the back and the little pleat. This will add some extra room while sitting in the car.
The feel and weight of the fabric is just perfect. Even with the liner zipped in, the jacket is not too heavy, and without it, is a great weight for a rainy fall or spring day. The PrimaLoft liner zips in and out easily, making the jacket versatile for both cold and not-so-cold days.
I love having snaps instead of the dreaded velcro - velcro snags on things, it's not polished looking, it's scratchy. The only velcro piece on this jacket is on the hood, and this allows such great adjustments to the hood size that it doesn't fall into my face like some other hoods do.
The wrists have two snap adjustments, and again, I love having the snaps instead of velcro.
The pockets are plenty deep, and it does not bother me that they don't have a zipper/snap/dreaded velcro closing. They are deep enough that essentials like keys or phone won't fall out.
If I have one or two quibbles about the jacket, and they are just quibbles, it's that we could really use another interior pocket. Women really need space for three things - keys, phone, and wallet - plus room for our hands.
My other quibble is the color selection. I didn't care for the bright clover, deep orchid, or violet blue colors. I chose the Deep Navy, relying on other reports that the blue is lighter in person than shown on the website. The blue color is indeed lighter. It is a deep, saturated blue, but not a blue/black navy, and is really nice. However, I think this jacket would be just fantastic in a deeper rich green or a vibrant red.
In sum, I am smitten. I expect that next year if they improve the color selection, I might get another one, hehe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by closetothecoast Please bring back the anorak jacket from the1980's
I have been wanting for years for LL Bean to bring back the anorak style jacket with thinsulate that they carried in the 1980's that came for men and women. That jacket cinched at the waist, fell below the hip,was light weight and fit beautifully. It came in colors like tan, dark green. I thought this jacket was going to fit the bill. I do not like the fabric at all. I do not like the fact that there is not a separate collar aside from the hood and that the hood is not removable. I ordered the petite medium and the sleeves were too long and they are unable to be shortened or turned up. The petite small would have been too snug around my hips. The color was not deep navy either , it is lighter. The other colors are horrid. I think this jacket has no style . I think LL Bean needs to have more stylish items. The models you use are cute but the long no style hair that they all have does not do the clothes that are nice any justice. Some of the clothes I like a lot , like some of the tops are cute, and some things are boring and blah. Nevertheless, I do like LL Bean but just wish you would jazz things up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Busyprofessional1 Fits well, beautiful color
I wanted something I could comfortably wear while driving and this coat works. It is a gorgeous color in the orchid pink. But I thought it would be much lighter weight so that when the liner is zipped out, it would be suitable for warm weather wear. But it is much too heavy for that. It will be great in the colder weather, though, so I will keep it. It keeps me dry and is easy to zip up. The shoulders fit well in the 1X, whereas the XL jackets I've had before from LLBean were narrow, with very long sleeves. I hope more coats and jackets will be available in Plus sizes. Especially the down jackets! Last years catalog had only a few Plus size coats/jackets and no Plus size winter sport pants.

My wife loves the jacket. It took a long time to find another jacket with a zip out lining to replace her previous LL Bean jacket which lasted may years.
She is a petite women and the jacket fits great and is very comfortable. It has kept her warm and dry in the downpours recently.
High price but worth it.

The jacket is wonderful. I very much like the permaloft lining for cooler, rainy days. The fit is perfect and if you have short arms the petite size is the way to go.
Repels the rain extremely well.

Wish I could give this coat 6 stars! The jacket is great at repelling rain, but the fabric is soft enough to just wear as a warm layer on cool spring days. I ordered it in the XL so I would have room for a sweater layer below. The drawstring cord lets you cinch it around your waist some without being too constricting.
I walk our dog at all hours in NYC so I bought the black coat to hide the grime. It's nice enough that I wore it with my skirt to work today and it doesn't look like a hiking coat. The PimaLoft layer adds some warmth, but for the 40 degree days, I've needed a sweater underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sidhbean Love This Coat!
I really love this coat. Water beads up on it and rolls right off. Just shake it out, and it is dry. The hood has a velcro adjustment so you can keep it from falling too far over your face. I appreciate that because this has always been a problem with hoods for me. They fall so far over my face I can't see. Although they do not zip, the pockets are fairly deep. If you don't pack them full, things don't fall out. There is a zippered inside pocket that is available with or without the lining. The fit is very good. I bought a petite xs, and that is what I got. It falls at the top of my hips. I am five feet tall and weigh about 105 pounds, to get an idea of who a petite xs fits. I also like the styling. It fits fairly close, but not really tight. It isn't baggy at all. The lining keeps me warm to about 40 degrees, maybe into the 30's if I'm not outside too long. It would be nice if the sleeves were also lined, but that is a minor issue. Note that the hood doesn't zip off, if that is a feature you want.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobble55 Great all weather jacket
I had been looking for almost two years for a replacement for my 15 year old all weather go-to jacket that was showing ugly signs of age. After at least 5 attempts with no satisfaction, I found this jacket! In just a few weeks, it has become my favorite jacket! I've used it as an outer layer for snowy days, on a boat during a rain shower, and just as my car coat for unexpected weather events. Great fit, very comfortable. Only thing I would ask for is outside pockets to have zippers.
