This is a very well made shirt. The details are beautiful. I wish it fit me! I have been looking for a classic shirt just like this for a couple of years.
I am 5 foot 7 inches tall and weigh 127 and B cup. This size small shirt fits fine at the shoulders. But, the entire shirt fits like a tent below that. I am frustrated that clothing that fits in my shoulders is usually cut for women who are heavier. Where is the clothing line for thin women? I know that if I order an XS, the shoulders will not be cut right. Sadly, I will have to send it back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by lovethebirds Cute shirt but didn't suit me
I really wanted to like this shirt as I needed a short sleeve blouse in Clearwater Blue to go with my canvas pants. I think the style of the sleeves and small print would work better for a younger generation than I, somehow it just didn't look right on me. The fabric is nice and lightweight but as I didn't wash and iron it, I cannot provide any more input. I wish LLB offered the Oxford shirts in short sleeve, they go from sleeveless to 3/4 which is more sleeve than I want in the summer. The search continues....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Irishmist love this shirt!
I bought the white with red stars and have worn it all summer. Looks crisp and neat even on the hottest day. All other colors are gone unfortunately except white so am buying the plain white one because it is so comfortable, pack it and go. No pulling at bustline, just enough stretch for easy movement. Length is perfect. I usually like the sleeve to be a little longer however the way this sleeve is made, it is short but does a good job of concealing less than perfect upper arms. Does look best with a little iron touch up if I have the time. Hope it comes back next year. Love the stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rubies I love the subtle Patriotic influence
I needed some short sleeve shirts for the summer for work, but wanted something different, and I found one. I love that LL Bean has really kick-started their line of short and long-sleeved shirts with some exciting and new styles and prints. This particular style is made from a very stable but soft cotton, and although the description states that it is slightly fitted, it is not at all tight, and the small amount of spandex makes it probably the most comfortable dress shirt I own from LL Bean. I'm a July 4th enthusiast, so I love anything Americana-related, in a classy way, and that's exactly what this shirt is. The navy blue is a perfect background color for the small white stars. It was a new item and so popular that it sold out almost immediately, so I missed out on purchasing the white with red stars option, but hoping it will return next year. I'm so happy that LL Bean has finally incorporated the patriotic theme into some classic clothing styles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TorontoGirl Requires touch-up ironing, but worth it.
I got the white with red stars and it is super-cute and comfortable. The only slight drawback is that the pin tucking on the front requires a quick iron after it comes out of the dryer to get all the tucks lying flat and in the same direction. Personally I don't mind doing this to care for such a fun blouse, but if you're looking for absolutely zero ironing you should skip this style.

First, the reviewer who said this shirt is too thin must like her shirts unusually heavy. This is a perfect summer weight - not too light, not too heavy. It is very well made and the cut is perfect. It is not see-through. I bought the white and navy with stars and love them both. Some LL Bean shirts are too long - this hits at just the right spot. I usually wear a small but the XS fits perfectly. Usually with this style it's a little tight at the bottom button (tummy area) on me, but this shirt is cut very slightly larger near the bottom to accommodate us women who do not have flat stomachs and narrow hips. (I wear a size 6 in pants but have a bit of a tummy and hip spread). The slight stretch also works. Really cute ... buy it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by smartshopper2000 Nice classic shirt
This shirt is comfortable. It runs larger than normal. I am usually a size medium and the small fits me (it is wider and longer than normal). This is a good basic shirt. It's good quality. I will wear a lot for work and on the weekends.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kath222 Thin fabric
I've been looking for a basic white summer shirt and everywhere I looked the fabric of women's shirts seems to have gotten incredibly thin and transparent. I sneeze into thicker weaves than most shirts on the market! I thought I could count on LLBean to still have something decent and I was very disappointed. The fabric is just as bad as many others out there. Perhaps in other colors it is fine but the white is way too thin and I am sending it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SouthernMainer27 great shirt!
I just received this shirt in the mail, and I already love it. The fabric is substantial, the color (I got the navy with white stars) is bright, and the fit cannot be beat. I got the large, and it hit that sweet spot a button shirt should hit - not too tight, yet not too boxy, no button gap in the chest, and still fits over my hips (I'm moderately pear shaped). It's a flattering shirt that could be worn casually or to work. I would get this shirt in other patterns.

Rated 4 out of 5 by merrymaker Saturated color!
Delighted to see saturated color in a short sleeve button shirt! I like the Beech Hill shirts, but this season's were too pale and washed out looking. The only reason I did not give this shirt five stars was the strange fit around the bust. The shirt was almost too tight in the bust, but also had some extra fabric bunching from the armpit. However, the fabric pattern makes this not too noticeable. Otherwise the fit is fantastic.
