This is a pretty peasant-style blouse with nice details. I usually wear a size 10 shirt, so I bought the medium and the fit was fine. The French blue color was true to the photo online. I especially liked the detailed paisley print fabric, fine stitching and little buttons. I decided to wash it first before wearing, to soften it a bit. Although I washed and dried the shirt as recommended (cold water, gentle cycle, low dry, removed while damp), I was very disappointed to find that the stitching in the collar detail had fallen out, leaving a 2 inch hole at the collar. Other parts of the same collar seam had also become unstitched-- soon to be a second hole. I returned the shirt for a refund. What a shame about the poor quality, because I really did like the shirt. If you purchase this shirt, I highly recommend hand-washing and air drying.

I bought two of these shirts at an outlet store. They were last years returns. I loved them so much that I wanted a few more and thought that they were worth paying full price. Sad to say Bean has changed the design. The shirt runs smaller and shorter and they added gathering and buttons to the sleeve cuffs. I don't like the fussy little touches. I believe the original design was more appropriate for an older women. I will be returning the shirts.

I love this top. It is such a pretty blue and I love the neckline and overall fit. I hate tops that hug the midriff. This one is not fitted, but you can adjust it a bit with the ties at the bottom if you want to. Please, Beans. More tops like this. Not all of us have a middle that looks good in fitted tops. I went back and bought the other one in the mint color, but the blue is my favorite.

Charming, pretty, feminine, sweet and delicate. What we used to call a "peasant blouse".
The smocking and thin lace insert are well-crafted, the small button/loop closures also.
On this loose blouse, the 3/4 sleeves look natural and appropriate. Same for the side tie bow, low hip at longest length.
Well made, with secure hem and interfacing, very nice. Maybe one of LLB's prettiest tops ever.
This blouse might particularly look enchanting on a younger woman, it has a wide neckline, and is figure flattering even though loose and airy. It conveys a note of freshness. -- You Millenials, put off the black for a day and see what it feels like to be a woman :-)
Almost semi-sheer, I feel more at ease with a flesh-tone camisole myself. A white bra line might show, but the shirt is not totally sheer. It's meant to be COOL and so the fabric is lightweight, but NOT as light as gauze tops.

Rated 5 out of 5áby 5terriermom Great looking shirt
Purchased the mint print this spring (2014), love it, it's so cute and feminine. Every time I've worn it I get lots of compliments. I like that it is loose and doesn't cling to my midsection but doesn't look sloppy. Nice length sleeves and body and washes well too. All in all a pefect shirt for me.

After washing and drying, I am very pleased with this shirt. I am 5'8", 160 lbs. and a large fits just right. I have small shoulders but my bra straps are adequately covered by the shirt. I'm thinking about buying another color; I already have the two florals.

I love this shirt so much I'm buying two more! I did not find the neckline to be too wide; it hits a good inch before my bra strap so the strap does not show at all. My shoulders are not particularly broad, but if you have narrow shoulders or a small frame your bra may show. I am a 12/14 on top with a large bust so I bought the XL and it fits perfectly. I love that the fabric is soft and light but has enough structure that it does not cling. And it doesn't require ironing! I think this would be comfortable to wear on all but the very hottest days. It's pretty much the perfect spring/summer shirt.

I like comfortably loose tops, so I ordered an XL (which I usually do). The body was loose and comfy but the neck is much too wide--one of my bra straps shows, no matter how I adjust it-- and too deep. On the model, the neck is nowhere near as deep as it is on me. I will return it and I am not sure I will try a large because while the neck might fit better, I want the looseness of an XL.
On the plus side the fabric is soooo soft...nice and light but with lovely color, and the pattern is very pretty (French Blue print). Just try a smaller size!

I am 5ft 115 lbs but small on top. I ordered the blouse in size small but is enormous. Take my word for it downsize. I also have small arms so I changed the button on sleeve about 2" narrower. That helped.
I like the smocking & material.

I bought this shirt because the fabric print was so pretty, but I also love the way it's made. The smocking around the neckline is a nice detail. The fit is generous, and I left the drawstring untied so it fits more like a tunic than a blouse. Perfect light weight fabric for warmer weather yet keeps your upper arms covered. The color and print are what make it beautiful, though. Love it!
