Rated 1 out of 5 by Quansoo Runs sooo small
Was hoping this dress would work for summer but what a disappointment! I tried on my usual size and it was microscopic. Went up a size and it was still way too small, especially in the bust and stomach area. Decided I did NOT want to size up 2 full sizes so gave up. Who can fit into these clothes??

I purchased this dress in blue. I love the color and the weight of the fabric. I live in a humid climate, and the linen is very cool, but the fabric is thick enough to wear without a slip. It's very comfortable for a casual BBQ or walking around town.
Because of the previous reviews about it running small, I ordered my true size (I usually have to size down for LL Bean items), and I ordered a regular instead of petite. I'm glad I got the regular, because the length is just perfect and from where the arm holes & waist fall, I think a petite wouldn't have fit. It was a bit long out of the bag, but after one wash it shrunk up about an inch to hit the top of my knee. The belt helps give it a little shape, but it isn't too form-fitting. I did put a safety pin below the last button as it did gap too much when sitting down. With the safety pin it stays closes and I can still walk easily.

I am sorry to be returning this dress; the style is great and in black this linen dress is wearable without a slip, which is a requirement for hot summer days. However, like others, when I sit down the gapping between buttons at the bottom of the dress is way too revealing. A slip may cover you up, but it won't disguise the gaps which look terrible. A few design tweaks (more a-line skirt and / or closed skirt) and I would buy it in every color.

I am very happy with this purchase. The blue is a very pretty color and the fabric is super comfy and lightweight. I am 5'2" and about 145 pounds, petite in the shoulders and curvy in the stomach and hips. I usually wear a size 6 petite but I purchased a size 8 regular since I prefer a little bit of extra length. The skirt comes to the bottom of my knee when standing up and the top of my knee sitting down. I love this dress, but I am giving it 4 stars because when I sit down, there is sometimes a gap between buttons. I plan to sew the dress closed in the hip area to keep this from happening because I prefer not to wear a slip. (I don't need to open and close these buttons to take the dress off.)

It's here!!! The mallard green is most stunning and it fits me perfectly. The quality of the linen far exceeds my expectations it's not paper thin. I am 5'11, 159 lbs, 36 bust with minimal curves and I cannot find one negative thing to say about this dress other than I wish they had more colors. I ordered my normal dress size 8 and it is true to size. I can fit a size 6 but I like a little extra room in dresses, not to mention I expect some shrinkage after washing it.

I bought two of these last year. I started with the size I can virtually always fit into, with some room. Nope, not in this dress. I ordered a size larger, which fit until it was washed. I considered buying one this year, again, one size larger, but after trying on the now slightly too small one, decided not to. I'm long waisted, and these dresses are very short waisted. So even in a larger size I wouldn't actually be happy. You can't tell from the photo, but there's a stitched in waist in this dress. It seems ridiculous; if this had been constructed as a shift it could fit a variety of body types, and would probably be easier and less expensive to construct. So, if you're short waisted, and buy a dress about two sizes larger than your regular size, this is a lovely dress. I'll take my two to the thrift shop.

I am glad I ordered this, as I am looking to add a few cool dresses to my wardrobe to be prepared for warm weather this summer. The fabric seems like it will be light, breathable & comfortable to wear on warm days.
Love the color of the mallard green.
I am glad I ordered up in size to a 6. Usually a 4 in bean sizes would be roomy. This dress is cut so it fits very snug at the bust, nearly gapping at one set of buttons. The reviews advising to size up really helped me! I would consider exchanging it for an 8, but I can see the back torso of the dress would be bunching out & fit oddly if I did.
Dress hits very slightly above the knee on me, the rounded hem of the dress & side slit still is modest enough of a length for me.

With that incomparable Wisteria Blue color and gentle floral pattern, I knew immediately that I wanted this dress.
But in the past, size 4's were too big, especially with sleeveless armholes. So I procrastinated the longest time, the clock ticking ...
What to buy, Petite or Regular? And should I buy it at all? It might be too big. Many found the dress too short, and I wasn't sure if I could wear a Summery Sleeveless linen dress with tights - though I'm always open to suggestion.
The reviewers were helpful, especially when describing the armholes as small, the shortness of the Petite, and where on the knee the Regular fell in relation to their height.
Because the armholes were small, I felt the 4 would fit me, and it did, perfectly. And I opted for the Regular, even though I'm only 5 feet tall. That was because the dress curved upward at the sides, making it even shorter than in front. I have nothing against short dresses, but I'm also happy with the length I bought - I can sit down with less worry! And then there's always the possibility of shrinkage in length. If I decide I want it shorter, I can always hem it.
Hope this helps someone who's been hesitant to buy. And look at that price!

This dress is lovely. The green is striking, and the material is soft and a nice weight. But I agree with a previous reviewer - it looks beautiful on me... until I sit down. The entire bottom of the dress pulls and puckers between the buttons, to the point that it's really open. So, it will be going back.

This is a very good weight of linen. Not heavy or tissue thin, as in
some linen materials. I purchased a size 12. It is nearly a perfect dress. It pulls a bit at the bust opening, but not as much when I
changed into a bra that reduces one a size. FYI: 5'9, weight 148 lbs., bust 38.5, waist 31, and hips 38.5. In other brand dresses
which are a size 12 there is usually more room overall in the fit.
I actually like that this dress has no gaping under the arm. This
is a fitted dress as stated in the description, and it does has darts in the bust, back on either side of the spine, and back and front
waist darts as well, plus having a stitched waistline where the belt sits. The belt loops on me sit at my waist when the belt is tied. It
may be that I am short waisted for some one who is tall. I would recommend trying this dress. I am going to wash it and see if I can shake it and pull it a bit while it is damp, and allow it to air dry.
I do this with all my jeans, by standing on the hems while they are damp then pulling on them at the waist with an upward movement
so that the pant lengthens out a bit. I may do so with this dress as well, but not for length, but for the bust and waist. It doesn't fit me
tightly, but is fitted and I want to see if I can loosen the ease a bit.
The length is great, just barely above my knee. Love the neutral linen color. I think I just might have talked myself into keeping it!
