Rated 5 out of 5 by PaceSetter Best Winter Walking Jacket
I was pleasantly surprised at how great this jacket is!!! I am a serious walker (5+ miles daily) and love this jacket as a top layer on cold and cool mornings. It is a great windbreaker. I purchases one size up (Medium) so I can layer my other clothing, so the fit is just right. It keeps me dry and if it gets wet, it does dry quickly. I highly recommend this product!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by JDubb Warm but fuzzy
This jacket is warm enough for most winter days in NC. It is most comfortable between 40 - 55 degrees with a light shirt underneath, or a sweater layered for colder days. It blocks the wind and rain well, and the light weight makes it easy to grab and carry along when traveling. But the "PrimaLoft" filling is coming out of the seams on mine. The stitching across the front of the jacket is just plain fuzzy from the filling coming out of the thread holes! It briefly looked better after washing, but a week later and it is back to a constant state of fuzz. This makes it look cheap in my opinion. Maybe mine is defective?

Rated 4 out of 5 by birdlady04330 Great Little Jacket
Like other reviewers, I was skeptical when I pulled it out of the package, but this great little jacket has quickly become essential. It is warmer than it looks, fits as advertised and is flattering.
I seem to have become a human space heater, so I don't need to haul around a heavy coat most of the time. This jacket is as good for my itinerant teaching life as it is for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. It's surprisingly warm when you're moving, especially with a fleece or wool layer under, and blocks much of the wind. I wore it under a shell while skating on a big lake in howling wind and was toasty. I also wore it yesterday in -5 windchill xc skiing and was warm when moving. Not so much when standing still. The only way this jacket would be warm at -15 (its advertised rating) is if you were running.
I have three picky issues: I wish I had bought the hooded version (it would increase warmth and keep out wind). I wish either version had an inside pocket so I could stash my hat or cell without fear that they'll fall out (the zippered outside pockets are nice and deep though). And I wish the that the neck fit closer to my chin when the jacket is fully zipped. There is a gap now that sometimes acts like a wind tunnel. A scarf or neck gaiter takes care of it, but...
Overall this is a versatile jacket that's as good for running around town as it is in outdoor activities. It's nicely made and the color is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tahoeskier Warm Primaloft
This is a primaloft jacket and is just what I expected... If you have had any Primaloft items you know that they are warm without being thick, bulky or puffy at all. Don't let the thinness make you think it is not warm! I love the Plum color! On the Real side - I am 5'4" 118llb. 34DD (for comparison sizing) and the small is BIG on me! The shoulders are fine, the sleeves are a tad long but fine, BUT the body is really big! I could wear a full winter jacket under this one! Layers to me are not leaning on the "Christmas Story" style. So back it goes with a x-small on the way but in a different color (no xs in the plum) ?. ahh the down side to internet shopping. Hopefully the xs will be better fitting in the body, I will follow up once the new jacket arrives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by knitknit Warm AND light weight
I bought this so I would have a warm but lightweight jacket and this fits the bill. I like that it has a zipper that I can zip all the way up to keep the cold off my neck if need be. Also, the pockets have zippers which means I can keep a pair of packaway gloves zipped in there.
When I travel, this jacket goes in my roll aboard luggage so I have it handy no matter where I am going. I fold it in half on the top of my clothes and it takes up almost no space.
I bought the large which gives me room for a LL Bean vest. Or, I can wear this jacket alone zipped or unzipped or layer it under another coat when it is very cold. This will go in my luggage for a 3 week spring trip to Italy and I know it will handle whatever weather I run into.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BuckeyeBeanie Couldn't Believe It! This is a LINER not a JACKET
I always scoff at bad reviews, wondering if it's just a hard to please customer or someone with too high expectations, but as soon as I taped up my return bag, I headed for this website to type this review.
It's a CUTE JACKET!!!
You HOPE that this jacket is the one-shot wonder, the end all be all to large, warm puffy winter wear and believe me we've had the down coats from L.L. bean that aren't puffy and are extremely warm and we've been wowed by how little down it actually takes. The colors and the styling of these jacket in the way they look is fantastic. I hope L.L. Bean truly sees the opportunity to create the jacket customers THINK they are buying. This is a hollow shell of the idea. I almost laughed that L.L. Bean would: (a) try to convince its customers that this jacket, which should really be called a liner -- for the amount of stuffing is equivalent to a piece of 2-ply toilet paper (and I'm not being cheeky, it's the best comparison I can think of) is hearty enough to do anything on its own in 35 degree or colder weather. Sure, maybe in 40 degree weather, but there is no way this jacket can meet any true winter weather without another layer of bulk underneath it. It's cute. It is really cute. And the Petite XS size on my 5'1, 120 lb frame is just a little roomy but fine (with layering) but I think I would have also liked to try the XXS, which might prove too snug. If you are traveling (which "pack away" does suggest) then you might not understand this review. Just be warned you cannot ski in it (which you might be inclined to think with it's -15 degree rating), you could not put this jacket on over a blouse or cotton shirt and head out into 20 degree weather without funny looks of being under cloaked. You can layer this with a thick bulky sweater, a fleece pullover, several moderate layers, but this jacket can't do anything on its own other than make you look cute on a cool or slightly cold day unless you're overheated all the time -- and just to respond to the Primaloft is amazing and you don't need much of it, then I will tell you the neck and sleeves are too loose and the bottom of the coat too open and the seal not tight enough to keep in body heat to make it effective; (b) charge the price it does for the jacket. At $128 I'm willing to pay for the super jacket that despite it's thinness is extraordinarily tough and warm; I'm not willing to pay $128 for just a liner. There are other name brand options and super threads that one can buy and achieve virtually the same thing, but this is exceptional overpricing for this jacket; (c) ignore the sound and feel of the material! The deal breaker was the sound and the texture of the jacket. Maybe it's just the white material, which is what we bought. It's loud! Like wind pants or like my daughter said, a diaper. You "shiff, shiff, shiff" when you're in it and the last thing I want to do is let people know I'm arriving five minutes before they see me. Bummer. It's so cute!
I'm not usually THAT reviewer and this review feels really harsh. I'm being honest. Change the temperature rating to 30 degree and I doubt you have the contingency of people like me complaining about it falling short of expectation. This jacket is a GREAT idea and I truly thought it was going to be the ideal answer to our needs. It looked like it, but on arrival, turned out not to be what we thought it was at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by run4healthofit Impossibly light and WARM!
I purchased 3 of the Primaloft Jackets for my husband, my 14 yr. old daughter, and I to bring on our annual Katahdin climb. Although we hike in September, it can be brutally cold up there and snow is not unusual that time of year. The jacket is so very lightweight! When it arrived I couldn't imagine it would be a warm jacket but I liked the look and feel of it. The xs is well proportioned for petite women (5'2", 105#) Men's medium is great on a 5'9" 165# muscular man.
My husband has been wearing his through December and into January in the coldest temps Maine has to offer. He LOVES this jacket. I'd been saving mine for hiking next Sept. but he convinced me to try it out one evening when we were going skating on the pond. It was 10' F and I wore a t-neck and midweight sweater with the jacket. I was warm and toasty. And it was so light weight! No more bulky outerwear for me! I am so very pleased! I know I skated better wearing this jacket.
My teenage daughter loves her jacket too. She wears it out and about and is looking forward to our next family climb when we'll all have this light little number stored in our packs just in case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SunbeltGirl My favorite jacket ever!
I bought this for myself and I love it! It's the perfect weight! So much better than the huge down coat I have.
I've been wearing it with temps in the low 30's with a sweater under it and it's perfect. Plus, it's so light. You feel like you hardly have anything on.
Actually, it's probably would keep you warm in lower temps depending on what you had on under it.
My mom and daughter both commented how much they liked it so I got them both one for Christmas.
They loved them.
In fact, my daughter just went on a trip and put her's in the tiny pocket included and it went right in to her suit case.
My mom liked her's so much she bought another color too.
We really love this new Primaloft insulation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bethiebiker My Second Jacket
I don't usually like coats or jackets, but this one won me over. It's very light weight but is warm enough that 30 degree weather is not a problem. I ordered my normal size, and it fits well over sweaters and fleece. Because I have RA, I often have trouble pulling outerwear on over sweaters; but the lining of this one slips right on without any trouble. I usually have a problem with static in the winter, but this jacket doesn't cause me to shock everything I touch. I only wish that the pockets had more lining.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Eulalia Nice coat but disappointed
I have wanted this coat for quite a while. I ordered the petite small, based on the other reviews. I am 5'2" 125 lbs. and was hoping for a bit more room for sweaters. The fit was flattering, with some room, but a bit too long. It wasn't as warm as I had hoped either. I decided to keep it though and wore it the next day. Unfortunately it being too long made it ride up as I walked and poof out badly in the front, making me look very pregnant. I cut the cords on the bottom seam and that helped a bit, but not enough. I have considered having it altered, but that is just more expense added to it. The problem is bad enough that it will probably sit in the back of the closet until I find someone to give it to.
